Straightforward, no-nonsense advice that centers on discipline. Well said! Al, your body language, mannerisms, and speaking ability are all top notch. It's a pleasure watching you speak on what you're passionate about. Thanks!
I eat pretty much like Al here laid out and dropped around 90 lbs and feel great. Now I am finally able to do bodyweight training and run etc. I can only recommend highly. Awesome stuff Al!
Love the content of the videos you put out. As long as it's real food you eat it I take it and you didn't emphasize organic or anything like that which is good to hear for once
Hey hey hey Al! first of all, you and Danny are a big inspiration for me, your books and videos helped me a lot, thank you :) and my question is... Could you give me some tips to put gymnastics style of training into my calisthenics workouts? There is a good way and a better way of doing it? And what do you think about practicing break dance along with calisthenics? Thanks you and greetings from Argentina :).. Sorry if my English isn't the most understandable
Greetings from the UK Al. I see in your photograph of you and your lady you seem to be standing under the Tyne bridge with the Sage on the opposite side of the River Tyne in Newcastle. I could be wrong but it looks very much like it 👍
I intermittent fast and have lost 125 lbs in a year. I have been interested in calisthenics for some time but, it was all to complicated at the time. I was looking for a simple and affective. I love Al's app! I have a 4 hour eating window.

Thank for these videos. I love two different type of breakfasts: Option 1. Eggs, one slice of bread + two slices of ham. A cup of coffee without sugar Option 2: oatmeal (just simple white oats) with milk, honey, one fresh fruit (banana or other) a tea spoon of peanut butter (natural crunchy PB with no sugar and no salt ) I tried to skip breakfast but it's not for me. I wake up already hungry and usually I have my training before it. I don't count calories either because I learned to listen to my body. What do you think about my breakfast routine? Thank you AI 😀
Hi AL! Thank you for your great work! I have one question, No breakfast, light lunch, good dinner... When to work out in this 24h, Morning, afternoon, evening, night? Thank you AL!
In your video about Intermittent fasting, you explain that you workout even during your fast and that's good for far burning for example... so I understand that there is no worries whenever we train isn't it!
Hey Hey Al, i've noticed some exercises such as "Hindu Push-ups" tend to have a convex effect on one's abs (makes them distend). In your responce would you please list the links to your videos of the most flattening ab exercises? Thank you for all the great work you do ☮️
Hey hey hey Al. I can do (in my first set after warm up and stretching) 8 pull-ups, 15 straight bar dips and circa 45 pushups, how long do you think it will take for me to be able to do a muscle up If I train callisthenics twice a week? Thanks, wish you every success and health
Hey Al, long time listener first time caller. Any advice on training while trying to lose weight. losing fat and building muscle at the same time, is it possible? Btw Get Strong is great. Thanks
Hey hey hey Al! I can do sloppy "chicken wing" muscle ups. Are these valuable in working towards a strict muscle up? Or should I not do them until I get stronger. By the way I can do 12 strict pull ups. Thanks!
If one is doing fasting and to elevate their results, they should make sure to fast on their cardio and weight training days to maximize your efforts and results... I do the 20/4, basically for 20hrs (8pm to 4pm the next day) I don't eat except for 4 hr (4pm to 8pm) and I do this daily( I'm 4'6, 65lbs, I need to do this to maintain my weight otherwise I'll gain weight too fast and be a short tuby girl).
Hi al I m 40 year old .and want to start exercise for fitnes and bodybuilding.pls suggest daily and 1 day skip exersise pls and also suggest low cost home protein .i m very thin less than 50 kg man. Thanks u r doing good job buddy
maaan I know most of these and I usually nail it on the beverages since I only drink water or black coffee but I am having a hard time with the food. pastries are my achilles heel and although I like most veggies I don´t eat them that often. how can I make them more appealing?
This can be good news for vegetarians and vegans who eat clean, because I find it easy to keep my protein and micro intake relatively high while not eating too many useless calories. Plus, you can eat 2x a day and still get gains on a plant-based diet. I think any diet works as long as it helps with a calorie deficit and gives you enough nutrients.
good advice. i’d recommend people looking at cole robinsons fasting channel and getting electrolyte recipe he calls snake juice. it makes fasting sooo much easier
I work 40 hours a week in construction, my hours fluctuate when it rains and when business is slow. Most importantly i typically have a coffee and sometimes a bagel if im not already running a little behind schedule. I was wondering if there was something else i can add to my mornings for that extra energy?
I'm very lucky because I eat a lot of pastry and all the days I do breakfast and I'm very skinny...the only think I avoid are not real foods I eat all homemade food I can find or do myself. I think in this case a little bit of genetic works...all men in my family were always skinny. Al Kavadlo what do you think about this?
Hey hey Al, I bought your newest book "Get strong" (which is awesome) and Iam currently in phase 1. Iam doing Flex Hangs, but Iam not sure about the timings. For example the program says 20 sec in week 4, so do I have to keep my chin 20 sec over the bar and then do the negative? Then how long should the negative ladt, also 20 sec or as long as I can?
Cuscuta83 I just got Get Strong myself, not as far along as you though. However, based on what Mr. Kavadlo writes/says it's probably a 20 sec. hold followed by a controlled descent.
Have you ever heard of the SAD diet? Standard American Diet. I tell people I'm on the Modified SAD diet because over the years I have eliminated many bad foods and replace them with better choices 🙃 😊😉. I'm sure you approve, but what do you think about this strategy
Oil in itself should not be recommended at all. It's pure fat, take some simple carbs with that ? You got yor combo to build fat in your body. I don't recommend cutting carbs either, cut junk you take with the carbs. Taking some fruit ( banana for example ) is a really good choice post work out. You need to refill your gylcogen. Brotein in a cup of water is not the best thing to build muscle, you need glucose and fiber too.
Oils are nutrient-dense, they give you nice vitamins and omega 3. Virgin olive oil is okay, other sources as well, if it's quality oil. You need fats for your brain, nerves, hormones production... Some fats also fuel you for a long period like eggs or advocado. Complex carbs are great, lentils or beans, oatmeal... Avoid white rice, white bread. Go for whole rice or some kinds of black bread if you really like it, it's tasty and nurishing (Germans can work all day after a breakfast of eggs, a slice of ham and black bread). Butter has vitamin A. Seeds and nuts have great fats, they're very nurishing, their oils are tasty as well (but they're so crunchy that you can prefer to put them in the salad rather than pouring them on it, gives a firework of tastes in a composit salad!)
I was 75 kgs Created 500 defict for 2 months Did weight training 3 times a week Came to 70kgs I was a bit disappointed but i think i got recmposition..!!?
No breakfast, light lunch and heavy dinner? It's a little counter-intuitive. No having breakfast gets your body into starvation mode, so any bite you eat afterwards gets stored away in anticipation of the next lull in nutrition intake; a big dinner before sleep may reduce the effects of that, but it's not recommended to eat a lot before sleeping. But, hey, whatever works for you!
Love how Al doesn't piss around in his vids, straight to the point, no bullshit. Excellent stuff, Al. Inspiring.
You seem to be so incredibly humble and plain nice. Thanks for all you do Al.

Cottage cheese and banana. A handfull of walnuts , some almonds. A couple of boiled eggs. Easy things to bring to work.
If you don’t track macro then how do you know you do it right

Lmao. He's sooo dramatic, its hillarious.
Which IF method you found most effective for you ? Is it Leangains/EatStopEat/Warrior Diet/Fat loss forever/UpDayDownDay ?
Iqbal Nouyed The most effective method is the one you are not doing. Your body is highly adaptive . You need periods of overfeeding and under feeding
