      Thank You Wildman Samurai. I think it has some advantages, at least for a period of time. I don't personally feel that it would be optimal in the long run, but then again some people do well on it. I might do a video.

      I am on my 3rd day of OMAD. No pressure for food. Going smoothly. I am just testing my self whether I can do fasting. I used to envy people who could fasting which I am not. Thanks Dr Ekberg for a simple solution for a difficult problem.

    Adopted and adapted 2mad as part of my daily living for more than a year now. And my colleagues and friends never failed to tell me "you should not be skipping breakfast, it's the most important meal of the day". Well, I completely agree, I never skip it, I only take it at a later hour - breaking fast at noon time.

      It's a western concept. In Asia they mostly just eat when they feel hungry. And then you have Ramadan for Muslim faith. They've always boasted the health benefits.

      Well I am Asian and its not true though. They tend to enforce you have to eat 3 meals a day, with breakfast being the most important

      I'm 71 and my wife is 68. We've been married nearly 50 years and during that time she has rarely eaten breakfast. I used to keep on to her that breakfast is the most important meal of the day but she wouldn't listen. She believed in eating when she was hungry. Nowadays, I realise she was on the right track and I rarely eat breakfast myself. In our 50 years of marriage she has rarely been ill and always had an amazing amount of energy - she puts me to shame. And she has never had a weight problem. But I have to say, she'll eat any old 'junk food'. Chocolate, biscuits, buns, cake - she has a sweet tooth but everything in moderation. Plus healthy meals as well - we rarely eat processed meals.

      @@brianrowe236 I take care of my 94 year old grandma, and she's been doing (sorta) keto/2mad for over 50 years! She eats at 10am and 5pm, lots of proteins and fats all while limiting carbs (she eats the occasional cookie sometimes though), it amazes me how healthy she is, she comes from a family of 11, all of her family (brothers and sisters), including her 2 daughters, have passed away, she walks with no walkers and she's as healthy as ever, this isn't scientific evidence of anything, but after reading on keto and 2mad, I had an eureka moment when I took a deep look at how my grandma lives, very inspiring in a way and another layer of motivation that I'm doing the right thing

    I do OMAD on weekdays and 2MAD on weekends - works so well with my lifestyle! I have lost 32kg and now maintaining a healthy weight but I will keep eating this way forever because the health benefits are amazing!

      This did not work at ALL for me for losing weight. I had been doing 18:6 for several, several weeks. Then these past 2 weeks did OMAD on M-F then my 2MAD 18:6 on the weekends. I actually GAINED a pound. Going back to my 18:6 for every day because I had been losing weight on that. I think all OMAD does is slow your metabolism down so it's harder to lose weight. I'm convinced that's what happened to me.

      But do you eat until you are comfortably stuffed like dr Ken Berry advises? If I did that twice a day I'd put on weight. Even with omad I'm a couple of lbs over what I'd like to be. I'm a real slow burner!

      @@adelinekeys6582 I eat til I'm full, but not stuffed. I eat pretty healthy. I like to mix things up a bit now, I do a longer fast once a week and an extra day of 2Mad. I think the beauty of the IF lifestyle is you can keep tweaking it until it's working for you and you're getting the results you want. This might not be exactly what someone else is doing.

      @@keithzastrowput it down to everyone being different. Definitely works for some people, but also depends on what you’re consuming, one meal a day in low carbs I.e fruits and veg everyone should lose some weight

    I'm doing omad on purpose since May 2019, dropped 70 lbs so far....
    I Reversed cholesterol and triglycerides without medication, also improving blood pressure.

      No keto.
      I eat seafood, berries and vegetables.
      I drink water. Sometimes I have a 3 day water only fast. I fast from midnight to 8pm and an eat window from 8pm to 10pm....🙂

    I'm 25 and I've been doing OMAD for a month and have lost 31 pounds already. I had 203 pounds, now 173. I'm 5' 11". I feel great. Everybody says I look like a child and I feel glad because of that. I love OMAD. I HAVE MORE ENERGY THAN EVER.

    I love OMAD, I've been doing it for five months for weight loss before I plateaued. I stepped up to 2MAD and began losing weight again. I think you really have to listen to your body for what to do next. I feel better than I have ever in my life. I will always find a way to include some sort of fasting in my life. It actually becomes as addictive as eating all the time because you feel so good. Thank you for the fantastic, informational videos. I really believe this knowledge and the application has saved my life and helped me reverse pre-diabetes.

    Started OFAD (one FEAST a day!) 8 months ago. Lost 40 lbs. Waist dropped from 36" to 28". Switched from cows milk to almond milk. Lots of protein, fat, and greens. Minimal carbs. Keep getting asked everywhere I go " How on earth did you manage to reverse aging????" I've inspired dozens of people to start OMAD/2MAD.

      Almonds are high in oxylates. I gave up so called suoerfoods that are high in oxylates, lectins last year. Raw goat or cows milk would be better.
      If interested, Sally K Norton's book Toxic Superfoods is excellent.

    I’ve been OMAD for 18 months now. I love it and I have no desire to change! I got to my goal weight and now am effortlessly maintaining. I love sitting down and having a huge feast - it feels so much more natural than being hungry trying to limit calories and eating stuff I don’t like that much anyway. I feel totally freed from dieting. Thanks for the info!

      @@trishna9279 No. I did for a while, but then it didn't seem necessary to maintain the weight I wanted. I don't eat a massive amount of carbs, but they're still on the menu.

      @@lucyc1077 it's different all together you eat when your hungry find your flow and slowly taper it down for your specific needs. I eat super late I eat whatever I want until I'm full full. It works for me as maintaining weight and energy. No cravings. But everyone is different you wont know until you try a few different things

    I am 68 years-old, weighed 164 and when I started OMAD and 2MAD Keto one month ago. I lost 11 pounds. I was eating a tremendous amount of carbs and sweets daily. The hardest part of this diet was having to eat more food than I could hold, albeit very high quality food. Amazingly, I've suffered no hunger. At the same time, I had started walking 30 to 45 minutes per day. The results? My short-term memory has returned on steroids as I can think more clearly. I am more energetic than I have been in many years. All my joint and muscle aches and pains have miraculously disappeared. I feel more than 10 years younger, all in one month's time. Do I believe in Dr. Ekberg's advice? Absolutely.

    For those people who begin to plateau and stop losing weight, there is a very easy solution. Start exercising slowly and then when you feel comfortable start doing high intensity training. This combined with fasting will destroy fat.

      Additionally, you're probably just downregulating metabolism from chronic calorie restriction.
      Eat at a surplus for like 2-3 days and then go back and it usually gets fixed

      Thank you for the advice for those of us who have plateaued in our weight loss. I eat mostly a ketogenic diet( 20g to 30g carbs per day when eating) although sometimes its just low carb (100g to 150g carbs per day when eating). I must fast at least 3 days if not 5 days to drop a few pounds. I am postmenopausal and gain weight fasting less than 3 days per week. I have 30 pounds to lose.

    Omad vs 2 mad starts at 11:00
    1) Longer you go Omad, the more insulin sensitivity(better)
    2) Omad more autophagy (better).
    BUT OMAD HARDER because you can lose too much weight, or have trouble getting all nutrients in in one meal, or get some degestive side effects

    I HAVE LOST 320 POUNDS ! but Oh my goodness.....I am amazed because I have been doing this omad for some time now but did not know it was a ' thing' .....I started dieting and just ended up eating once a day because I liked it.....one big meal ( but all healthful food) not more than 1200 calories (& even as low as 1000 ) but the quantity of food was massive and thats what I liked about it. I can't believe that what I've been doing has other health benefits. Well, I'm here to say........it works well. I went from an even 450 to 130

    My initial goal to begin keto, 3 years ago, was to lower my A1c. At the time, I was 240lbs. (61, F). I didn't read about fat adaption until after about 2 weeks when I noticed I didn't feel hunger. I still WANTED to eat, mentally wanted food, but wasn't hungry. After 6 mos. I learned a lot about being fat adapted and everything made sense. God bless it. Effortlessly, losing weight, going from 240lbs for more than 20 years (having gone up to 292 at several times) and landing at 150lbs with an A1c of 5.2 (from 8.3).
    Now 3 days OMAD, a couple of other 2MAD, with fasting weekly and longer monthly.
    Go keto!!!!

    💯ABSOLUTELY❗ I been doing OMAD with minimize carb intake since last November when I weighed (348 pounds) and OMAD really worked for me I lost about 75 pounds, I'm now (275 pounds) today and this by only OMAD without NO exercise. And I'm still continuing losing weight today! I had serious breathing problems and sleep apnea problems that extremely improved and my health is still improving. OMAD changed my life when my obesity seem impossible to undo. But it's definitely improving and I will make my goal to be under 200 pounds

    I started doing IF 3 years ago.I began with 16/8 and then 18/6 which is my favourite. Once I had done several 20/4 I tried my first OMAD and I now do OMAD for 7 days once a month throughout the year. Once you are fat-adapted it is easy to do OMAD. I have done a lot of 48 hour fasts and once a year I do a 5 day fast. I can't recommend IF ,OMAD, etc highly enough. And it all started when i first watched one of Sten's videos.. The best health/wellness channel on YT !!

    Ive been on OMAD for 5 years, Mon to Fri and 2MAD Sat Sun. Once you are there and doing it, it just becomes the norm. It’s definitely a lifestyle. I have way more time than others, regaining at least 2 hours a day from jot eating breakfast and lunch. I have very consistent energy too.

    Currently, I am mixing OMAD with 2MAD. Usually, I do OMAD Monday to Friday, and then on the weekends, I do two meals beginning around noon. And never do I eat at bedtime.

      I do the contrary/other way around because my job is physically demanding so I can't go to sleep starving at the end of the day. But the weekend I don't feel the need to eat 2 meals let alone even 1 I could pass. I'm afraid if I fast for more than 2 days I eat stupidly on Monday morning before going to work.     I began OMAD 2 weeks ago. I am overweight with T2 diabetes and am finding it easy to accomplish. I find that I am not often hungry, but when I am, I have tea or broth. I don't have to worry about preparing 3 healthy meals a day and, as I am not a fan of cooking, having to prepare only 1 meal a day is a definite plus. I have lost 15 lbs in my first 2 weeks and I feel so much better already. I have a long way to go, but I feel that this plan of eating will be sustainable for me.

    I find OMAD pretty easy. I find it easier if I eat around 5pm or 6pm for about an hour because I am still full when I go to bed and not hungry when I wake up. I then start to feel a bit hungry around 12pm to 3pm but not enough for me wanting to eat. The mild hunger then normally goes away and by 5pm or 6pm comes around I am ready for a feast but no hunger pangs

      This is my eating time pattern daily. I think it's the best time for us (who's taking OMAD diet) to eat because it makes our sleep better without insomnia and it feels good when waking up. Hunger strikes at 2pm onwards but not that bad, I just drink water till 6pm and *tadaaa* it's the best time of the day 😁😁

    On OMAD I was too hungry before the meal and then too bloated after the meal. I hated it. 2MAD is perfect for me. Less hunger before and no bloating after the meals because they are smaller.

      Thank you kanenas. Good for you. A lot of people have similar issues. BP coffee instead of the first meal and digestive enzymes for the second can help, but if 2mad works, just do that.

      We all slow down on the production of our ability to make our own HCL for digesting proteins, as we age! Be certain to take a Betaine HCL supplement with the second or third bite of a meal! Along with digestive ENZYMES, as Dr E suggested, should help your body digest the protein the way you did when younger and should! No more bloating! To assist your body this way, everyone should be talking a Multi Vitamin Mineral supplement, to GIVE your body what you’re not getting from our depleted food sources of today’s food! It will also allow your body to get the needed “precursors’ to help you to start making your own HCL to make your digestion better, more efficient and less uncomfortable!

    I started OMAD with Keto in October to address T2D diagnosis. This way of eating effectively helped to lower my blood sugar from 500’s to 80-100 range in 3 months. My A1c went from 14.5 to 5.6 and I’m actually really comfortable with one meal a day. It definitely works!

    Been doing 20:4 2MAD for three months. Lost 2 stone.. Been using Berberine also. Now started OMAD to give my weight loss a boost. Intermittent fasting and keto is the way forward for me. I'm a 57 year old woman. Always struggled with my weight. This way of eating is the only thing that has worked for me to lose weight. I also feel great. I used to get a lot of boils - they have completely gone now. I had a couple of tumours which have now disappeared. I was suffering menopausal brain fog. This has now gone.

      @@LordStanley94 eat all your food in one hour, also you eat till satisfaction, you'll be satisfied anyway because fitting all the basic ingredient in your food will make your plate full. Eat your veggies first then your main course because the main course will make you full and you might not be able to finish your veggies

    OMAD is the easiest way to eat I’ve ever experienced. I’m never hungry, I’m losing weight and I enjoy preparing one wonderful meal for myself. OMAD makes me very mindful instead of snacking my way through the day or throwing any old thing together and calling it a meal. I feast like royalty!

      Christina Maples I had to be very disciplined for about three days before my hunger went away. The trick for me was keeping my carbs to under. 20 TOTAL grams for the entire day, PLUS eating fatty foods at my meal until I felt completely satisfied. At first it was a lot of calories. But as my appetite went away, I’ve eaten much less. Wishing you success.

    I so glad I found all this information about fasting on RUclips!!! I was able to lose 40lb in 3 months with alternate day fasting… I fasted 36hr twice a week for 3 months, the results were INCREDIBLE for my body, it literally changed my eating pattern and carb dependence, I’m now back to eating “normal” but my eating window is 6hours a day, It made so much easier to maintaining my weight off and I didn’t have to go on a restricted diet to do so. I recommend everyone to try fasting, it is easier than you think

    Raised on 3 meals a day. I’m a big guy and used to FEEL like I was going to die if I didn’t. After going KETO, I started eating less and less due to reduced appetite. Eventually, I found that all I needed was one meal a day and SOME days.... I feel as if I could skip eating altogether. Crazy to think that I, such a big guy, could be content with one meal a day. I lost 65lbs without any exercise at all, (too busy working). I drive for a living, and thus, I’m not as active as I’d like to be... so KETO together with Intermittent Fasting was the easiest way I’ve ever found, to drop a lot of weight.

    I found that I was eating omad without 'trying'. I just started eating later AND I made 6PM the latest I would eat. I found I wasn't hungry after a while. If I was hungry I ate. I also found that I had to lessen the portions over time. I discovered my natural eating time to be around 4-6PM.

    I have been using the OMAD from the offset, and done 2 x 48 hours and 1 x 72 hours over 3 weeks and 4 days. Watched many of your videos and followed your advice as best I can. And also your exercise ideas too! I wanted you to know that I have lost 9kg, improved my muscle definition, and have so much more energy than in many years.     Great talk. I’ve been doing intermittent fasting for 10 years. But Omad for only about a year. It was hard in the beginning, but got used to it after about 2-3 weeks. Now I do omad Monday through Thursday and 2mad Friday through Sunday. I’m feeling fantastic.

    I eat OMAD every other day. It suits my life perfectly and I'm maintaining my 160 lb weight loss without hunger. I'm 60 and lost my weight by listening to these videos, eating LCHF keto and fasting. It reversed ALL my health issues and I'm medication free. I feel better now than I ever have and I'm in the best shape and have tons of energy.       @@skyejacques It's harder to do OMAD, but 2MAD is fine during the menstrual cycle. You won't lose due to bloating, which feels frustrating. Drinking electrolyte water will help. It is mainly the loss of salt and water that makes it more difficult I think. Plus, my daughter found it harder to do her workouts (she felt dizzy--maybe dehydrated?) but still could take walks. She said if felt like the keto flu again. We treated it the same way. LOTS of water and salts. The weight fell off after she finished her cycle. She was doing OMAD. 2MAD wasn't a problem.

    I've been doing OMAD for about 2 months and, prior to that, I went from 16:8 to 18:6 to 20:4 to OMAD. I feel great! I have such amazing mental clarity and energy!       That’s true it’s more like 20hrs or OMAD but somehow I feel full and the psychological hunger disappears when you eat two meals in a shorter period. Also, don’t feel hungry afterwards and keep in mind dinner is off the table as it’s consumed earlier than usual.

      I'm curious, are you hungry at your secound meal? I struggle with that a lot. Because on one hand you should not eat when you are not hungry, but I should get a certain amount of food in. And if I do that I'm far from hungry at the time for dinner - this concept still puzzles me.

    Frequent eating means your insulin stays higher all day, even with Keto foods. Insulin is a 👉FAT👈 producing hormone.

    I just want to thank you for all your efforts and caring heart. You are a Blessing for my wife and I. We will be sharing your wisdom with all our loved ones. 3 weeks now I am Omad for 3 days now no issues. The wife on 2mad. In 3 weeks time I have lost 10lbs, she as lost 6lbs and we feel Great! I use to carry a little seat when I walked for a period of time that unfolded to take a rest and for pain in my back, last week I walked all day (10hrs) with small breaks without my seat (which I forgot) at the San Diego Zoo and still going strong!

    2MAD is perfect for me. But I don’t understand why I am never thirsty. And if I force myself to drink water, my stomach feels immediately bloated.

      @@drekberg Can you help people who work after noon and sleep day time how to make this work I work 3pm to 3am not hungry when I wake up at and get ready for work most hungry when I get home at 3am sleep and working out Fasting hard to figure out what works can you do a video for us who don't work 9 to 5 job's trying to find my happy place. And would like to stay whole foods plant based . No animal products

    I am T2D, I drink coffee in the morning and 2MAD eating lunch between 11:30-1:00 as allowed with work schedule. I eat my dinner before 7 pm. So far it has been working and my blood sugar has dropped to 70-95!!! One of my last readings before doing this was 300! This Change alone is amazing! Also have NAFL, hoping liver enzymes drop too. And I have lost 20 lbs so far as well. Thanks for all your info!!!

    I have lost 51 pounds since Oct 2019. I was 223.80 lbs down to 172.80 today. I did omad with EF and ADF and water fasting. Now I'm doing 19 : 5 (I eat from 8am-1pm for maintenance so basically skipping dinner and it's working great)

    Life changing stuff! Thank you Sten. I started on OMAD before watching this and now I have more certainty about my goals. I've been on it about 5 days and I'm already feeling so much better. Blood pressure is improving, heart is getting healthier and just overall health improvement. I'll stay on it until I reach my target :)

    MUCH easier going omad or 2mad than what I would've believe before I tried it. Started my diet in June, and today (8 September), I've lost 20 kg. I'm 190 cm, and my weight now is 94,8 kg. Feels great, but I'm aiming for 80 kg. Important to say that when I started I didn't really know much about how everything works; just went with the "I'm gonna eat big meals, but with as much low carb ingredients as possible, since I've always enjoyed feeling full after eating, and I didn't want to go hungry. So basically ditched potatoes, pasta, rice and the other hi carb stuff, and went with cauliflower, broccoli, egg and good quality hamburger. I used hot salsa for flavor, since it was low carb and spicey. I used cottage cheese, cucumber and carrots between meals to stave off hunger. Didn't know about omad and 2mad then. When I hit the plateau, I started Research ing more about this, and 2mad, omad and once in a while 24-48 hour fasting has really done the work for me, getting me off that plateau!

    This is the best channel I've found for health, diet, and lifestyle advice and recommendations! It's wonderful! I'm a 48-year-old woman. Most of my life, I've naturally eaten two meals a day and have rarely been a snacker.
    I was keto for three years in my early-mid forties, but started feeling less great on it. In hindsight, I think I was getting too much protein those last six months. I eat low-moderate carb, usually 50-80 grams a day -- sometime less, sometimes more. The carbs I eat are mainly chickpeas, lentils, vegetables, berries, and the occasional treat. My weight stays stable unless I imbibe too much alcohol. If I include too much wine or margaritas (even low-carb ones), fat-burning stops, and I get weight around my middle again.
    While I usually eat two meals a day, sometimes I do OMAD, and sometimes I do OMAD plus am earlier small tapas like some hummus and veggies or half a roasted pepper and some goat cheese for a midday snack before my main meal at dinner. It's not planned. My body guides me. My eating window isn't fixed, but naturally falls between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30-5:00 p.m. as I usually awake really early and go to bed around 9:30 p.m.
    I know fasting can be different for women's physiology, but I've always eaten pretty much this same way.
    For activity, I live in a very remote area and have to hike in and out of my house. I'm on the ocean and being in the water; cleaning the hull of my boat; hiking in the jungle; and walking on the beach or traversing the river to reach my small town are normal parts of my day. Once a week, I have to carry all my groceries up the mountain to my house and all the garbage out to the trash boat, so I get reasonable activity despite working on the computer the bulk of the day. I don't do HIIT or workouts or any kind of regular fitness plan.
    Hope some of that can be useful. Thank you so much , Dr. Eckberg, for all the information you provide and your easy, well-mannered style of delivery.
    EDITED TO ADD: For those of you interested in macros, I tend to eat 20% protein, 20-25% carb, and 55-60% fat. Most of my fat grams are olive oil, avocado, cheese, and nuts.

      @@Endless.embrace Hi. Since posting that a year ago, I have gone much more to the carnivore side of a way of eating. I'll give some examples of meals I used to eat though in hopes of answering your question. Some favorite meals were: 1. Roasted red and yellow (or mini sweet) bell peppers stuffed with goat cheese. I mixed herbs and a little olive oil in the goat cheese, baked them, then drizzled them with olive oil and pine nuts. 2. Salmon (poach for 4.5 minutes in simmering water (5.5 if frozen). I'd make some couscous or quinoa and place the salmon on a bed of the grain. Cover with a fat-based sauce like a cream sauce or butter-herb sauce. 3. Steak however you like it with a Diane sauce or a cream-based sauce. 4. Mexican food. If you go light on the tortillas, Mexican food seems to generally naturally have these macros. Hope that gives some ideas. (I have gradually changed to about 5% carbs and mostly meat, eggs, and some cheese and feel even better, am more strong and fit, look younger, and have no menopausal symptoms, and everyone's body is different.)

    Hey Doc, just wanted to throw a big "thank you" out there for all the videos you put up
    Ran across intermittent fasting on a machinery channel, and found it pretty easy since I was recouperating from a motorcycle accident (making food was a hassle...)
    Quit using artificial sweeteners and cut back carbs about the same time, and lost 50 lbs without any dramas
    Ran across your channel and found I was doing a bunch of what you recommend. And whaddya know - seems to work!
    No longer get so weak and shaky if I'm not stuffing food in my face every 2 hours.
    Just did a 36 hour fast last week, gonna try adding that into the mix once every couple weeks or so
    Now, taking your advice about seed oils and phasing those out...

    So weird to me how ppl talk about weight loss but never talk about female menstruation. This is a huge factor in weight loss or lack of and a big part of hunger or decrease in hunger. I don’t stress when I plateau around ovulation or before my period because I track my bodies differences. I also know a few days after ovulation I will lose that water weight, but during I will hold onto it. Ovulation also brings on serious hunger for me so I really need to be disciplined.Hormones play a huge role in weight loss especially for females and nobody talks about this. Track your cycle because this will help rationalize your bodies weight loss and you’ll know the best weeks to work out harder and when to relax

      Very interesting point of view, but all bodies are different. I don't plateau or gain during ovulation neither do I feel more hunger. I only gain about 1 pound of water weight a day before my period and it's instantly gone a day after. I feel no cravings or moodswings during my period either. Maybe people aren't talking about it because it's not a common problem? I don't know

    I tried omad for about 8 weeks and lost all the weight I wanted and feel great. I seemed to loose all the body fat I wanted. Now I’m trying to gain weight and have moved to a 2mad diet. To be honest I like the way I felt better with omad. I actually find my self getting hungry on 2mad over omad. I find it easier to cheat also. But it’s all good. I’m in the best shape in 15 years

    I do 2 meals-no snacks a day and works fine for me. Being 73 yo, I don't need to starve myself for 23 hours every day. I am not a camel. 13-14 hours daily is good for me which is what I call my fast period from 6pm-8am. thanks for the video.
