    I am a 62 year old woman who will always be grateful to Wim Hof for writing a book and yourself for the video cause for the last 30 years I have been on anti depressants and suffered with inflammation. The past six months both have gotten better. I have actually caught myself laughing as I come out of the freezing shower. Why be miserable when we have cold water.😊😊😊😊😊😊

    Try jumping in freezing water up to your neck. After a year… Started with the cold shower, 15 seconds, then 30, etc. Then jumping in the bay. Now, a 60F swim is absolutely lovely. 45 (11ish C?) is still… Uncomfortable.
    But honestly, that’s the best thing about it. It’s the easiest thing you can do routinely that’s also the closest thing to holding your hand on hot stove that doesn’t result in permanent damage.
    I mean… It’s not THAT bad. But it is actually painful. But you can actually learn that you can stare into pain, and discover that you actually can endure it, and that experience isn’t as bad as the fear/anticipation of it.
    And best of all, you can learn that when every part of you is screaming “No, I don’t wanna,” you can just be like, well, be that as it may, I’ve decided that I’m doing it, so f*** it, it’s happening.
    And to be able to practice that, week after week…. I can’t offer scientific proof, but it seems possible that that could end up helping in other areas of your life.
    Either way, although it doesn’t feel good at the time, it definitely does afterward.

    As always, you continue to inspire me. I am a big fan of ice cold showers in the spring and summer, especially after a good work out. But after watching this video, I decided I would try my first cold shower when it’s actually cold! I did precede it with a hot shower (I can’t seem to rinse the soap out of my hair otherwise), but it wasn’t bad at all! It felt the same as it does during the summer, and left me with that same charged feeling in my whole body.
    I definitely love embracing the cold. I’m out in a T-shirt and shorts and my Xero sandals unless it’s below freezing. But like you say I’m not a slave to it: sometimes my body feels really cold and I love standing in hot water for 10 minutes!

      Cold showers are dangerous for lung infection. I can’t say i had pneumonia only from cold showers but that’s what helped infection.I had lung infection and I knew cold showers made impact on the desease.,cause it’s not the same as ce bath. In ice bath entire body will get adaptations cause all body is inside cold. In cold showers body it’s exposed to trauma more expecially if you do from hot shower to cold that’s even more dangerous..
      Those who want benefits should go straight to ice bath, without changing tenperatures from hot to cold.and if you want health benefits practice ice bath. Ice bath is safe but not cold showers.

      I usually tell people that the best time to try it is in the summer, since more often than not the cold water coming through the pipes will be warmer than it is in the winter. That and if you're outside and hot from the summer weather, a cold shower is going to feel great. These things help rig the game in your favor.

I did it for 2 months everyday from very hot to very cold straight in the chest area, that made me sick , I had bronchopnwumonia , cause cold water lead to vasoconstriction of blood vessels near lungs, and that can lead very easy to lung infection , cause of trauma in chest area .I never will do this again

    • @Jhadar
      @Jhadar 2 года назад

      The reason is because lukewarm water is warm enough to open up and clean your pores without drying out you scalp and skin, and when you finish off with cold water, it helps close up the pores making your skin smooth and can help prevent pimples

    • @Jhadar

      Not only that but the sudden temperature change in the water helps activate the immune system which can help you prevent sickness and can help you get used to the coldness, I personally find this technique way better than cold showers because when I took cold showers after a sweaty workout, it would give me small pimples, I think because the cold water closed the pores trapping all the dirty sweat, etc. Hope this helps
