I know this video is a year old, but your message is upbeat and positive and truly appreciated. I have been wanting to jump into this niche and you just made me want to go heads first. 47 years old but never to old to do something that interests me.
Thank you for the trailmix! The amount of available resources is truly overwhelming, so I really appreciate that you've taken the time to lay out a clear path. Keep up the great work!
I appreciate the effort you put into your Salesforce advise videos, David. They played a crucial role in solidifying my decision to start my journey with Salesforce. Before my accident two years ago, I was doing well, but since then, my mobility has been limited. After much contemplation between AWS and Salesforce, your videos helped me make a final decision. Thank you for your help and support. As you said, I will start with the Admin path.
Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom! I've been searching for Salesforce advice as I have no prior experience in Salesforce and feel overwhelmed by the number of resources! THANK YOU for giving me the starting place because I know I can learn this!
Every Time i get depressed by thinking (whether i will get a job,how will i get experience, programming toughness, being late for programming carrer) while studying. I watch your videos again n again , to get a GOD level motivation
Thank you David! I stumbled on your post "How to study understanding, not memorization" article. I am teaching myself Salesforce Admin. I will be reading most of your articles and forum posts first before starting my first admin training. You are the GREATEST!! I'm sure you know that already ☺😎
Thank you! This was a great video. The content is not only educational but funny to boot. The bit about how hard it is to fail the same multiple-choice exam five times cracked me up!
This video is just what I was looking for!! I'm an architect (as in buildings, not software) but lost my job cause of covid. Now I'm switching gears and jumping to learn salesforce, and this video (and your trail mix) is really great help. I really really appreciate it. Thank you!!
Trailhead helps but it is also good if you have an actual project and practice it on live environment. It is also good to fail and learn from those mistakes.
I can tell you that I've spent a considerable amount of my free time giving out free advice to complete strangers on the internet. Hi, I'm Ned, and I'm trying to learn SalesForce to get a relevant job and break into the IT industry!
Im newbie on salesforce, I am coming from mulesoft and ESB tech. Thanks a lot to reduce the bagdes in order I can change my techonology stach easily and quickly. Thanks!!!
Cool Advice! Thank you. I would say the first months is the difficult one. In my example, I gathering information from everywhere and join into each meetup and related source which is mentioned "Salesforce" keyword. After figuring out I create my own path. As well as certs, I took my 1st admin in 3 months. But now I have more stronger feeling of what to do, and keep doing that.
Thank you so much for providing others your knowledge and saving us huge amounts of time by focusing on the areas which are most utilized by businesses.
I stumbled on your page somehow after finally watching all the "Best brownie recipe" videos on youtube. At this point, I knew I had finally masted the "procrastination Superbadge". My days at work have been reduced due to Covid and I've been struggling to give myself some structure to investing in myself. I've been working through Trailhead slowly but just picking at it really because as you said, there is just so much content available. The biggest struggle I've found is getting real-world advice and guidance on how to progress to achieving an Admin Certification. The trailhead you've created looks like exactly what I'm after. The 100+hr's of modules which will likely take me 200hr hours feel manageable because I think it will give me an understanding of Salesforce, and also where I need to go next. Thanks for creating this, hopefully, it doesn't lead to me hating you forever creating this Trailhead that I'm about to start.
Thank you so much for this video! I have been wanting to make a career change and this video solidified my decision! I appreciate you sharing your content.
Great ! This video helped me a lot to know salesforce, I am learning salesforce from next week for my next 10years career, feel lucky to see this video before I start to learn it.
I believe work experience is pretty important the first day I was given a test class for a trigger handler. The trigger handler was 1000+ lines big I needed to just get the code coverage from 76-80%. It took me two weeks. If I have to do a similar thing two months later it would take me 2-3 hours tops.
You are an amazing mentor! I learned a lot about not only how to learn about salesforce but also how to persuade people to listen to you and believe in you -A skill I can use for my audience to change lifestyle to get healthy...I am a lifestyle change coach and trying to influence the change.....What is one key to success you think is helpful to you in building this channel?
Thank you so much David for your insights and advice! Our company just recently signed a partnership with Salesforce and have been driving the use of trailhead...but that’s about it. It’s like “Salesforce is going to do great things so go forth and learn, learn and learn.” But for people like me, it’s “where do I even begin? It is so exciting yet so overwhelming at the same time.” This video helped simplify the process so so much and I’m so happy I found it.😄 Thank you for sharing and sending you a digital high five for your amazing work🖐
David, you are an INSPIRATION! It is amazing that anytime after I see one of your videos, I feel more motivated and more in love with Salesforce! From a person with 0 technical background or Salesforce working experience, I can say that the first certification is the hardest one. You need a looot of motivation, hard work and focus in order to reach the finish line. Rest of the certifications will come naturally, in time. Also, I think that getting the Admin certification firstly is the foundation for a successful Salesforce professional. All the best and keep up the great work!
David, I just got started in Salesforce last week and really want to learn and get the certifications. I’ve been in a non IT background all my career and want to advance. Hello David!! your videos are awesome, thank you very much!!! One question for you: for getting the Sales, Service or Advanced admin certs, would you recoomend always paying for the courses that SF suggests? they are very expensive for me.. do you think that alternative courses would do it? like... udemy??

David K. Liu Well I made it to Salesforce Ranger and I just passed my admin certification. Getting ready to do two more. It’s funny.. I looked over your MOST IMPORTANT BADGES list. I have completed most of those modules but am curious about all those super badges you included. That’s a lot. I’m training for the admin cert. Are they all really important for certification?
For certs I specifically recommend this: www.sfdc99.com/ultimate-salesforce-certifications-guide/ The trailmix is mostly for learning, which unfortunately is not the best way to get certified LOL. Counterintuitive, I know

Another amazing video! Thanks so much!
I looked over your MOST IMPORTANT BADGES list. I have completed most of those modules but am curious about all those super badges you included. That’s a lot. I’m training for the admin cert. Are they all really important for certification?
For certs I specifically recommend this: www.sfdc99.com/ultimate-salesforce-certifications-guide/
The trailmix is mostly for learning, which unfortunately is not the best way to get certified LOL. Counterintuitive, I know
@@dvdkliu Ok, thanks. I’ll work on that. 😃
