What a thorough, informative and concise explanation of what salesforce is! Veteran here looking for a new career path. Thanks for the clarity David. Also, it’s nice to see you went from 80+ subscriptions to over 300k! Well done!
Honestly this is the BEST explanation of Salesforce I’ve ever witnessed and heard in my life. :) The sample content about your wife’s anger level on equipment purchases on your screen is priceless.
Thank you so much for this!!!! After trying to explain Salesforce to a few folks in my family asking what I actually do for a job, this was absolutely the best way to help them get it! Subscribed.
David, I am where I am today in my career because of your critical advisement 5 years ago when I left a well paying (I thought at the time) job to pursue Salesforce full time. Glad to find you started a RUclips channel! Subbing immediately.
I was familiar with the breadth of Salesforce but never put my hands on it - in anticipation of a new job that requires using the platform, this was a super helpful overview!
If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough -- Einstein David you nailed it. I haven't seen any video like this about Salesforce. 👌 Keep doing more and more...
You made this video when you had less than 100 subscribers?! Amazing. The power of a high quality video. Thank you. I am looking to become a Salesforce admin.
Loved the humour, David! I keep hearing about SF, but I don't know enough about it. This was the perfect video for me to share with my co-workers. Thanks.
Also subscribed first because of the intro, but also because I really like your energy! I don’t even need a tool like that, but you almost made me pay for it anyway 😂
Really enjoyed your video, I love your approach with simplistic explanation and your humor. My company is gearing up to use Salesforce so I'm trying to get a jump start on learning what it is. I'm sure it's customized to each company but seeing a snapshot of what this is is nice before we launch.
I am 2 minutes in and I already subscribed. I already know that this su gunnu be one of those channels that blows up and us OG members resent the newcomers.
I wasn't even looking for Salesforce but I stumbled here, learned about Sales force, had a good laugh, and now I'm spending $200+ on a lamp. David - you should get commission (on Salesforce AND the lamp)
I never heard some talk about Salesforce and its features so well and in such a short duration touched upon almost everything in Salesforce.. 👍🏼 Good job..
Watching this 1 year after it was posted. Congrats on the 89 subscriber to 28k subscriber change! Sending this to my friends and family so that they understand my job 😂😂
I worked at sfdc for over a decade, good luck getting anyone to tell exactly what the app does, and does not do, just expect alot of fluffy bullshit pie in the sky marketing drivel about how its going to make all your dreams come true, just make sure to sign up for 3 years at a time or else you will get spanked on annual renewals, the place seriously gets high on its own supply and believe their own bullshit if you catch my drift...
Thank you for this. I really enjoyed it even though I don't use Salesforce at all and I'm a Microsoft fanboy. That's how good this video is. So good I became your 90th crappy subscriber!
This guy cracks me up. And just an FYI salesforce does aggressively increase their prices every year especially knowing the volume we do. It drives me crazy, has I know this cost early on I would have had my org develop salesforce competitor. By this time next year we will be a billion in the hole with them…
Salesforce is like RDBMS, but running on cloud with additional bells and whistles, sleek UI and code abstraction for more user friendly experience. I had a similar concept in my mind when I was in teens and used databases for the first time, LMAO. I just wasn't as resourceful back then 😅. Great explanation David! Earned yourself a subscriber 😎
Hilarious and informative. Thank you! I kept seeing Salesforce preferred on just about every job listing I was looking at so it was time to do some digging.
The Salesforce App that the average Rep on the Field uses is Glitchy. It sometimes freezes up, and the only remedy is to delete the App and download it again. The App is much slower uploading picture than the website, which works well, yet is hard to do on a cellphone. Salesforce is focusing on Managers, that use the Website and not the App.
@@dvdkliu David, it is for the Field Reps. The Managers only use website. This is a problem for the workers in the Field, and Salesforce has done nothing to improve the App in the last 5 years. Salesforce had made this Super for Management.
I deliver Appian projects, but need to also part-time manage a Salesforce team. This is such a great intro video for technical and non-technical folks alike.
I think this is the best video that explains salesforce in a clear cut way. Before watching this video i have a doubt that if i used to learn this technology then what i have to learn after few years? But surprisingly i have the answer(from this video) that salesforce will be out there for the next 10 years as there is no strong competitor next to salesforce.
I read and did the tutorials in TrailHead (for about 1 month and gave it up for a year) and thought it was kinda boring. However, 5 minutes into your video, I'm getting excited to actually start learning SalesForce again. Thanks for the funny and informative video!
1:35 "Salesforce is the next generation of spreadsheets" Considering I just joined Trailhead and started training on it this was my exact way to describe it to my wife---it's like user-friendlier Excel.
Omg, I am like literally struck out by that explanation. What an awesome way, I have been thinking about switching to this technology for a long time now. And this video just steeled my resolve. Thank you very much.
Thank you for this explanation on salesforce. Because I only have heard of salesforce as being a CRM as the company I worked was using it in 07 on the sales side. I’ve been researching careers. I can transition into inttect, and I kept hearing people mention salesforce. My cousin is also a software engineer, and works in salesforce as well or maybe he works for salesforce. But I had to get more information since I keep hearing salesforce continuously.
One thing you 'forgot' to mention - you can get one Salesforce ID and multiple users can log in at the same time to reduce costs esp in generic customer service environment
I do not why, but I just love all your videos :)) Because of you, I love even more Salesforce. I am currently an Admin, did not know a word about Salesforce 2 years ago, but willing to learn more. So yes, in July I will check out your Apex Academy course on Pluralsight. Keep up the great work!
Highly recommend apex academy ! I just finished David’s 15 week course and his project . I felt really good about completing the project as it gave me a boost of confident that hey I can learn some coding if I keep at it . I am in the same boat been in the ecosystem for two years now
Wassim Chao Thank you for sharing! I heard only great things about Apex Academy, so I felt that I really have to give it a try, despite of the busy working schedule. 😊
odoo could be an open-source competitor to salesforce for companies with access to python developers. The core concept of records, filters and rules exists in odoo as well as an app store. Every bit of functionality is provided with addons, the base functionality (an ERP system) is just a collection of built in addons that out of the box are disabled. You start with a clean slate. just because its open-source doesn't mean you should freeball it though, you definitely need to work with an odoo partner and run the enterprise version (still open source, but paid access to source code). My company replaced sage 500 with odoo and we had to code 20 custom modules in addition to 20 more from the app store to make it do what we had before plus 10 years of wishlist items for improvement. the upfront cost was 6-figures, but the ongoing licensing is very resonable and it does everything except make us lunch. it really cut down on mundane work and human error in gathering data and documents. CRM in odoo is quite weak out of the box. I'm surprised salesforce isn't an entire ERP system by now.
