I TOTALLY agree with Salesforce in 20 years. BUT Rather than saying it will cease to exist it will still exist it's just the rates will be so bad you wouldn't bother. I found exactly the same during the first dot com boom. I came out of Uni knowing HTML, I was the hottest commodity in the country. I could write my own cheques. Now it's a totally different story, an HTML developer just doesn't exist anymore... But Devs vs Admin... Code is being pushed further and further away in the stack with Flow etc... therefore I think the boundary between devs and admins is going to be a lot more blury.

I see everything in waves, you just need to catch the next wave and start learning it to slowly transition yourself into the next latest and greatest. Just look at Salesforce Functions... hey I don't even need to learn Apex now! (kinda).
Hi David, I am thinking of switching from Salesforce development to more general software engineering, probably web development. I found that Salesforce development was much too proprietary and limited. What do you think?
Personally I would've done the same if I was smart enough, but I was never that good a coder 🤣🤣🤣 I'd also say if you want to be further away from the business that general software development is better
Do you have any suggestions or tips for a salesforce dev who is in their 20s currently ? Would you say it's better to stick to/learn general software development (java,js) rather than Salesforce development exclusively in order to be more well rounded and easily switch between technologies ..you know in case we need to 20 years down the line 😐 ?
General SWE is better / safer with a few downsides. First is you gotta be a lot smarter. Second is you are further from business decisions which is a pro or con depending on your goals. For me I was never smart enough to go all in on general software so Salesforce made more sense
@@dvdkliu cheers David thank you so much for the insight! This really made me think. I will try more for general SWE even though I'm working on salesforce. Thank you !

Hi David. How will I learn to be a Salesforce Developer or Admin? I tried signing up in Trailhead, but I prefer to have a human teacher instead...is there a course that I can enroll? Thanks
How hard is it to become a Salesforce Developer, if one has never done programming? Or is it good idea to start as an Admin and then slowly move to Developer? I had taken Java 20 years ago and hated it. I have been in the IT field (Sys Admin, Business Analyst, Application Support etc) for the past 20 years, but never done programming after that Java experience :).
Literally know hundreds of people who have done it. Just a few here: www.sfdc99.com/sfdc99-reader-success-stories/ People in their 50s and 60s as well. I've personally also done it myself!

@@dvdkliu Haha thank you!! Appreciate your insight :)
Wow! Great content David as always. See you at the weekend! I see a ton of emails coming your way :D
See you there!!
Thank you !
Feels like David is only gonna make his own company , hire developers , be the manager / CEO of this new company which will compete amd overtake Salesforce in next 10 years . Bet on this , this is gonna be true ! 😂 And if this gonna be your plan David , then do hire full stack developers like us into your team , we freshers have all the energy to learn and apply all hands-on skills ! 😀✌️
😍😍😍🤣🤣🤣
Hi David. How will I learn to be a Salesforce Developer or Admin? I tried signing up in Trailhead, but I prefer to have a human teacher instead...is there a course that I can enroll? Thanks
How to become a dev: www.sfdc99.com/2020/03/01/step-by-step-guide-to-becoming-a-salesforce-developer-in-2020/
Thank you
How hard is it to become a Salesforce Developer, if one has never done programming? Or is it good idea to start as an Admin and then slowly move to Developer? I had taken Java 20 years ago and hated it. I have been in the IT field (Sys Admin, Business Analyst, Application Support etc) for the past 20 years, but never done programming after that Java experience :).
Literally know hundreds of people who have done it. Just a few here: www.sfdc99.com/sfdc99-reader-success-stories/
People in their 50s and 60s as well.
I've personally also done it myself!
@@dvdkliu Thank you so much! You are amazing!
Apex, SFDC language, is basically Java
Hey David, First of all thank you very much. Everytime you come, you give great advice.
I just had one issue, can't find your email anywhere.. it just might be me who is not able to find it may be😅
Ha ha ha, go to RUclips.com/dvdkliu, navigate to the About tab, then you'll see a button to get my email 👍
@@dvdkliu Thank you so much😊
Thanks David, I am 38 YO and experienced software testing professional, would you recommend me starting SF career regardless of me being 38 years old?
Lot of other factors I'd need to consider before making that call ! Location, why the change, current pay, which Salesforce career, etc
You are the best!!!!
Thx!!
Most ppl say sales force will peak around 2030 an Start the decline from there as a person who only sees myself working in it for 5 to 6 years while building side projects do you think sales force salaries will maintain or increase for just the next 5 years or do you see signs slowing already now
Definitely still growing but I agree it will peak within the next 10 years!
@@dvdkliu ok probably best time to get I the next 2 years to have time to milk the earning potential while salaries are still high for the next 7 years max
Yup!
I just read that they canned a bunch of people recently.
I need someone to help me with salesforce I need to make some changes but I cannot find anyone to help.
any recommendations?
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 keep it up buddy
Thanks!!
Are you still offering a free month of your coding courses? :) I'm very late to the salesforce game! 🤪
SOS EL MEJOR DAVID
Thank you Mauro!!!
thanks you a lot...
All SF has done is made my job more difficult. No one I know that actually uses it cares for it. Nothing against you. It's really terrible to use at least in our industry.
Hey @David - I’m 3x certified (Admin, Advanced Admin, App Builder) and I’ll take you up on your offer here for a month’s free coding from you - when I secure a dev position I will pay you the value of / purchase the course. Is this offer still live? Thanks
Yes email me at dvdkliu@gmail.com !
@@dvdkliu emailed you. Thanks
Don't see anything ! Checked spam
@@dvdkliu that’s very odd! Just re-sent it to you. Is there an alternative email address to copy in just in case?
@@dvdkliu Re-sent again, not sure what's going on there. I've triple-checked the email address you posted above and your gmail profile pic checks out so... yeah.
That 4500$ setup is worth it 😂😂
Thanks!!

Thanks lol
So then why did you produce a video saying DON'T LEARN TO CODE!
Just trying to show both sides and let you decide what's best
Smh another video about selling more coding courses. Such a villain >:)
😭😭😭👊👊😘
Ah, that's not true as he said in his video to ping him...and he'll provide free learning...I am proof of it... I pinged him twice and both times he replied with a voucher and a lot of good wishes to learn.
Yes, He is selling courses, but not just for the sake of making money.
Thank you for your support Rishabh. I am so happy I was always nice to you LOL.
Romeo is just joking around so it's all good ✌️✌️
@@dvdkliu Thanks to you for helping me at that time.
My pleasure buddy 👊👊
