I remember feeling the imposter syndrome. It took me changing my perspective. I took on the narrative that requests are coming directly from God. I feel that God who gives without hesitation, deserves me to answer the call with a resounding Yes. So now, everytime I'm elevated to, asked to, or promoted to do anything, I take it as God, Himself is asking and accept that he has chosen me for a reason.

Thank you the entire video. I laughed, felt spiritually encouraged, and related to many of the things you said but I love, love, love that you showed that last few seconds of vulnerability at the end.
The love you guys have for each other and for encouraging others is so palpable, but like you said there are many lies/expectations/ "life be life-in" moments we perceive & experience that keep us from walking in the "fullness" of ourselves. That's real life, but as we accept these things, have faith & plan forward magic (which sometimes just looks like "making it through") can happen, like in this video. You two are doing a great job!

This topic was so relatable... My depression creeps up on me the same way as Johnathan .. and it's really tough to pull myself out sometimes ,I'm kinda working my way out of it currently... But it steams from comparing myself to others and my own expectations of myself...
I'll like to know Johnathan's experience with depression from a male's perspective cuz my bf is the same and how Jess supports and helps him though that season.

I love the reality and transparency here. I'm older than you two are but i can identify with things on both topics (church hurt, etc. and not being enough). There is a constant battle that we are involved in spiritually, and although we fight it, God is our champion and we're already victorious. Love yall ❤

Yes, Yes, and YES!! Church hurt is a big thing. And, the revelation that I had is that being a Christian is literally based on knowing that we're all imperfect and need saving. The church is a hospital, we go to church to be healed. We can't expect people not to be people at church. We have ALL sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Not to let those people off the hook, but we have to extend grace.

Jonathan's explanation of control is exactly what I've been going through for longest time even when I know God should be in control. I started reading Joyce Meyer's book Battlefield of the Mind and it has really helped me. I'd encourage anyone going through issues of the mind and the lies we believe to read it. Thanks Jess and Johnathan for all the topics you've shared so far, they're very crucial ❤

Loved this podcast. Only recently I realized, like Jonathan, I feel I need to be in control. I always have plan a, b, c and d. Neither worked recently, which created stress, frustration and the realization that I’m so impatient, all because things weren’t working out according to my plan. Well God came through in His time, only after I learnt AGAIN, I need to leave things in His hands and be patient. Now I’ll wait patiently for next week’s podcast😃

Hey Jess thank you for keeping it real, I can relate as far as trying sooo hard to not make others feel a certain way and doing it sooo much, I am like where went my confidence... although it maybe hard to convey , one step at a time sis, you belong wherever God put you period! It's not about what you have it is taking what you have and putting it in God hands, that is how He will get the glory , giving you things that seem to great, and you slay one giant at a time in Jesus name! Although you might have thought this video was of it really help me piece something together God ,bless and take what God wants to give you :)
Im glad you two brought up the expectations of other's. I was thinking about it earlier today because I have this perfectionist habit that can feel overwhelming sometimes. It’s good that Jess can acknowledge why she points out those bad things but now that u know just make a conscious decision to change that and it will take time but u can correct the negative behavior
You both were bouncing off of each other and landing perfectly, so don’t beat yourself up Jess💜 this is coming from someone who had to learn how to train my brain to speak positively about myself and your completely right cause even when I had a bad a day and didn’t fully believe the positive things I would tell myself I eventually started to see those things a fact. It’s funny because I’ve been struggling with something for a while and I learned not too long ago that I go back to my vomit (as the scriptures say) because I wasn’t trusting in the Most High fully. At the end of the day the Lord’s will will be done. Thank yall for sharing cause I enjoy the deep convos 💛

I think I might have imposter syndrome too sometimes when it comes to
Me rising to the occasion of certain things. But at least you show up and you allow yourself to be uncomfortable. It helps you to grow everytime and eventually you will align with your highest self because it’s inevitable. Just surrender to the process and keep moving while trusting God all in tandem.

Girlllllll I use to do that . They always say I act like i'm better than people and I don't . Its because of how I carry myself and when I get compliments for my appearance I always try to dum it down so others don't feel insecure around me but me stop dimming my light so others can shine cause at the end of the day people will still be jealous of you for the weirdest things smh. You have to just be you and live for you and God.

Sometimes we hinder ourselves from experiencing the different dimensions of God because of fear of uncertainty, or because we want to be in control. It’s okay to be in a season of uncomfortabilty because it is in that season we experience God in a different dimension.
I know that I have posted but this was so good and Johnathan, you made so many valid points. I know that I had to find my worth in God and not man. I love you guys so much...keep them❤❤ coming ❤❤❤

Not sure if your washer has an agitator but this happened to me in the past and it was because there was oil leaking from the agitator!!! @Stain in shirt... it's probably the fabric softener if you put it in the machine for it to dispense on its own. If you machine allows you to open wid wash try putting in the softener yourself so you can mix it in water so it does catch the clothes directly. If not, then try doing it at the start of the wash and see if you like the result of it going in so early.

I've been called stuck up and conceited as long as I can remember. I used to get offended when I was younger. I am so down to earth. A guy I was dating in my early 30's told me, it's them actually feeling bad about themselves. He said I am sooo comfortable with who I am, and they are not comfortable with who they are, they want me to lessen who I am in order to make them not feel "as unworthy".
