Right I was thinking the same thing. It her relationship with the Lord and she shouldn’t and/or doesn’t have to put it on display. That is one personal time communing with the Lord. Just my two cents lol.

I don't necessarily think she's hiding her relationship with the LORD. I more so think it is the practice of modern day christianity, that has infiltrated the church. Modern christianity is more centered around self love, and entertainment, and prosperity. Our walk with God, is just not about our relationship with him, but it is also about pursuing the great mandate, which is spreading his word, and reaching the lost. Social media is such a vass platform, that can be used to reach many lost, and hurting souls. Modern christianity, stays behind the walls of the church, sing songs, listen to the word, return home, and wait for next Sunday, in order to do it all over again. The great mandate is not emphasized much today. It's more about prosperity, and motivational speeches, and self help. Thus is the reason why some Christian RUclipsrs look no different, from a regular RUclipsr. With that being said, I don't think we should look to a lot of these influencers, to get spiritual encouragement. There are a few on RUclips whose channels are centered around the word, and that's their whole channel. Put certain channels, in their perspective categories. Some are for bringing forth the word, and some are just for entertainment. Pray for modern day commitment to be turned into the great mandate commitment.

The devotion you shared was totally for me. I was over here shouting, "PREACH, Jess!" I used to be a big stickler on making my kids and my students (when I was teaching) thank me for every thing I did. I mean, it's a good habit for them to show gratitude whenever anyone does something for them, but I also realized that maybe in some instances I was pushing a liiiittle too hard for that "thank you", and it was just because I wanted to be praised for doing something nice. I've also started to realize how empty the "thanks" feels when you force someone to say it... then you have to argue with them to "say it like they mean it". 😒When you stop and examine yourself, like the devotional was getting you to do, you realize how cringe-y it really is. Thanks for the reminder!

Lastly, I know people will often say to ignore the negative comments but that’s often easier said than done. Coincidental to the devotional, as much as we should do things without always seeking a reward, the same should be said for uplifting each other and ourselves. The world is hard enough.
