Chandler and Monica’s relationship eventually became the *rock* of the group. It says a lot when perhaps the most popular episode of the show is “The One Where Everyone Finds Out”.
Indeed, I loved how they became "The Designated Parents" of the group, and would get plot lines that revolved around Mondler. Monica also helped Chandler to grow up and not be scared of commitment, while he helped her to become more confident, and gave her the love that she'd been deprived of from her parents. 💘💞
Why do you think people love stories about the chosen one? Or why do some people even idolize superheros. Or even why do people looove WWE superstars? Their relationship can be summed up in one John Mulaney quote: "Being married is great, I didn't know relationships could make you feel better about yourself".
Amen! 🙌🏾I love how "Will They/Won't They?" couples like Ross/Rachel or Sam/Diane are steadily dying out in sitcom land. Contemporary shows seem to understand that we need a partner whom we can joke around with, be ourselves with, and accept us for who we are, warts and all! ❣️🥰
The good news has once again come to you today. Wow. By making Monica and Chandler's relationship the EXACT opposite of Ross and Rachel's relationship, it became the most healthy (and best) relationship in the show.
In similar way Morticia and Gomez was created- as opposition to dynamic from sitcoms in past. Ever nowadays thery're role model example in relationship!
Mondler is timeless. They're real, no extra drama, their ups and downs are cohesive to who they are. They never changed individually througout their relationship they just got better. Although they had their insecurities, they never let it truly affect each other in a negative way they always found a way out of their problems. This is a real relationship.
The biggest difference between them and ross and rachel is that they never tried to fix each other, they accepted all the flaws and developed their relationship together. Ross and rachel were very stubborn and selfish, they wanted to make the partner a match for their expectations. Thats why they never worked. Monica and chandler on the other hand understood that none of them were perfect but it didnt matter.fighting over stupid things to wrack something so good and pure was just not worth it.
I would also add that Monica and Chandler worked on their insecurities much better than Ross and Rachel did, almost ever hurdle Ross and Rachel had was because if someone miscommunicated making assumptions and started to doubt certain situations other person never attempted to rectify the tension. If there was a miscommunication with Chandler and Monica, they would communicate their issues and clear up anything that could have hurt the other person.
@@kate2create738 Definitely shows the maturity difference between the couples. Which is a fun dichotomy especially since Ross always strived to be the most mature one in a room and Chandler... well he's Chandler.
@@rebeccabruton9359 she actually helped him grow up and become a better person. Remember the episode where she made Chandler apologize to one of his exes for ghosting her just because she put on weight...
I adored how low-key Monica and Chandler's dynamic was in comparison to Ross and Rachel's constant drama. They cherished each other in little ways, and didn't need to rely on Grand Romantic Gestures to win the other over. May EVERYONE find their own Monica or Chandler some day! 👫💘
It's hard to have a relationship "Monica and Chandler" , you usually find a "Ross and Rachel" , they may love each other but they were immature and toxic or a "Joey and Rachel" , they seem to like each other but it's just friendship and when they try to be together it gets weird and awkward
Seconded, I always loathe on sitcoms that if a dorky guy is in a relationship with a supposedly "unattainable" girl, their friend group implies that she's WAY out of his league, even though he's usually JUST as charming and attractive as her. Examples include HIMYM's Lily and Marshall, and Donna and Eric from "That 70's Show!" 🙄😤
I totally see what you mean, but at the same time there are so many sitcoms where a very average-looking, often overweight guy is paired with a very good-looking slim woman, and no-one ever comments on it. (King of Queens, Everybody Loves Raymond, Speechless). That's not to say that doesn't happen in real life, or that we should reduce relationships to who's hotter, but I feel it plays into the overarching sexism of TV land and movies. Male leads can be average-looking: their wives are always very slim, much younger, perfectly made-up. Continuing the cycle of impossible beauty standards for women, and ageism.
Yes, you've summed up those dynamics in a nutshell! Monica and Chandler were, and still are, my relationship goals. There was little to no drama with them, and they seemed perfectly comfortable and at ease together, which is a delight to see. 😍
@@RyoKasai25 what chemistry did Rachel and Joey have ? What sense did it make for Rachel and Joey to be together to creat more season and more episodes , as the series would end in season 8
@@RyoKasai25 I'm Team Rachel & Joey too. If the writers had the guts to go thru with it, Joey and Rachel's relationship could have played out similarly to Chandler and Monica's. Joey adored Rachel, made her happy, and wanted to be there for her and Emma.
In an early episode, Monica gets out of the shower and is wearing a towel (and she looked hot!) and is complaining about her life and Chandler and she hug and he says, "You're the best looking girl I've ever seen, ....in real life" I thought you might have shown that.
That scene is my fav pre-mondler sence. She was totally waiting for him to make a move. And he wanted her too, just too afraid she might turn him down. So they just huged and enjoyed each other's company. That scene is simply amazing.
I think Rachel and Ross largely feels real, but in a negative way. It's a good depiction of a toxic relationship, of people who mistake a mutual attraction and constant drama for being "soulmates". The writers taught a good lesson with these two couples... then completely screwed it up by having Ross and Rachel end up together.
@@Shriyaliiii13 Rachel moving on to Paris bookends the show so neatly it's pretty funny they didn't do it, though they did write themselves into a corner by having her have a baby with Ross.
I always appreciated Chandler and Monica's relationship more than Ross and Rachel's one because they really grew and matured through it: especially Chandler, he may be the "funny one" but when he had to he was composed and supportive
yes true and he becomes more comfortable with commitment. On the other hand Ross is so annoying because he waits for Rachel and expects her to change her growing career to be with him. It annoyed me that everytime Rachel moved on, Ross got mad as if he owned her.
Ross and Rachel grew a lot too but separately, that's why at the end of the show when they get back together you could see their relationship wasnt gonna be the same
Chandler was secretly always the most supportive one of the friends. With Joey and Ross at the beginning especially. He was there to comfort Rachel about her parents divorce first since he has experience. He mocked Phoebe but supported her decisions regardless. And was always there for Monica every time she was down. In reality, Chandler is the rock of the group.
This show lasted 10 years bc of Monica and Chandler. Each year of the last 5 was a new step in life for them. Dating secretly. Then publicly. Then living together and working toward getting engaged. Then married. Then babies. Nothing was rushed. The first 5 years their chemistry was hinted at and just under the surface enough...even if unplanned...that it made sense when they got together. That's what makes it THE BEST.
@Nelson Robert Willis Chandler also calls Monica beautiful several times without the intent of dating her. His mind-set is sort of like: "Well, yeah if she'd want to I'd do it for sure but even if she doesn't she's the most stunning woman in the world, period." I love moments like that.
@@Moszan Yeah for sure but we meet them after they're married. They're more like: Marriage goals. We see Chandler & Monica before so it's fun to see how they vibed before even being together. But yes, I wish me & my husband still had that Adams Family passion! 🔥
I think with Ross and Rachel it's because they have such high standards for each other. Ross has been in love with Rachel since high school, and saw her as the girl of his dreams;, while Rachel thought of Ross as a safe person she could always go back to (when they had a break and he sleeps with another woman, she says she thought he was the one person who would never hurt her) which is why it hurt so bad when they fought. This whole soulmates thing they had going on, was actually a lot of pressure in their relationship in my opinion.
@@stephaniemasson1224 I whole heartedly agree! They were great characters just really, really, really ill-suited for each other (though I'm not a fan of Ross). Ngl I'm a sucker for rom-com grand gestures but it was just a tv relationship. Such a relationship would be super exhausting irl. It would do more harm than good even if you have all the love in the world for each other. :/ Relationships need more than just love to survive.
@@manasvisharma4990 It really would have been exhausting to be on and off again with someone over and over, and never get it right. After some time, it seemed less like they were destined to be together and more like they were just too stubborn to let go from this relationship, because they had too much pressure of being each others one true love forever. (They're Ross and Rachel, they have to be together!) If it really was meant to be, how come they never get it right until the very end, you know? I know the timing wasn't always right, but most of the time, what kept them from being together was themselves. In my opinion, Monica and Chandler focused on love as a journey, while Ross and Rachel saw it as an end to achieve.
I think a big part of it was that Courtney Cox and Matthew Perry really did like each other and where friends and that showed in their characters as well.
I mean to be fair, Jennifer and David had admitted that throughout most of the show they also had feelings for each other, but the timing was always wrong. All the characters have chemistry, the writing for Chandler and Monica is just so much better.
Chandler: you opened all the presents without me? Monica: you kissed another woman! Chandler: call it even? Monica: ok! lol i wish this happened in real life
I've never seen Friends so I was just wondering... who did Chandler kiss? I'm assuming it was a miscommunication because I'm sure he wouldn't cheat on her and have it glossed over
@@sweetly1634 he lost their wedding photos, so he tried to reenact the wedding ceremony by kissing another bride on her own wedding day in the same venue in order to take new pictures so Monica wouldn’t find out. Monica found out because she had their actual wedding photos with her

Showing a Type A personality like me, that is Monica getting love and affection not just from Chandler but also from everyone else gives me so much hope.
Have you seen the Take's video on the Type A Personality Girl Trope? It's great and shows lots of other Type A Personality characters from tv getting a chance at love-which gives a girl like me hope too
@@oncerand_directioner Yes, I saw that video too, but Monica is just my favorite neurotic woman, second to maybe just Claire Dunphy, thanks for letting me know that you feel the same too.
I'm willing to believe that if the show continued a little further, Monica would have found out she was pregnant not long after adopting the twins. It's not unheard of.
I love it so much, because it ties back to the season 1 episode when they’re in the hospital waiting for Ben to be born. Monica sees a new mom with twins, and laments to Chandler that it isn’t fair that she doesn’t have a baby and that woman gets two. Chandler then tells her that if neither of them are married when they’re 40, he’ll marry her and have kids with her.
I love how Monica doesn't want to have children from a donor when they find out they can't have children of their own, because she wants Chandler to play an equal part! I have always considered adoption a more wholesome option over surgeries and donors :)
That is the one of the sweetest moments in the show for me-especially when she said "I don't care if he's the most perfect guy in the world-he's not you. And if I can't get pregnant with you then I don't wanna get pregnant by him or anybody else"❤😭 That is absolutely something I would say to my Chandler if I ever find him (but in reality that's not going to ever happen) because yes, I married and chose YOU, I want to have children with YOU, and because that's not possible with a donor, we'll find another way because I want you to be apart of this
One moment I hate about Ross and Rachel's relationship is when, after a whole episode trying to get on good terms with Rachel's dad, they finally bound... over mocking Rachel for seeing a chiropractor. Later in that season, they belittle each other's fields of interest. So petty. Monica and Chandler don't ever do that.
Ross and Rachel belittle each other career , interests , jobs and a lot of things , it's one of the reasons that made their relationship toxic , i wouldn't like to be with someone who didn't like the same thing as me and still make fun of , like Ross and Rachel do with each other
@@bryanortiz5321 They didn't mock his job or him for his interests. The joke was that they could not remember the long title but at least they knew it was corporate and it had to do with numbers.
How many times have you rewatched it thus far in your life? Asking for a friend, wanna see if it's worth the seasons-long wait to get to the good stuff. :3.
Perfect example of friends turned true love. They were honest with each other, even made fun of the stupid stuff (instead of keeping quite) and loved each other.
That "I like maintaining you" scene is still one of my favorite moments of any sitcom and definitely one of Chandler's most shining moments in the series (though he had quite a few.)
@@RandomSkyeRoses I know right! I've seen someone once say that most tv shows are toxic because there needs to be conflict, and I'm like... No? There are other ways to create conflict in a story that doesn't involve a couple being toxic to each other.
I think it's good in a way that not all relationships aren't like Mondler. Appalling as that may sound... but that's the generic phenomenon about all things good and all things bad in the world today. If bad things happen, we learn to appreciate the "good" better. Likewise, if all relationships were like Mondler, we wouldn't have appreciated the beauty of this relationship and perhaps wouldn't have had such insightful videos/break-downs. Often people need to go through bad relationships to realize the significance of a really good one, and most importantly - to learn how to work hard and to trust one another for a relationship to work. Good relationships aren't all about just fun and romance, it's also about the effort, trust and the attitude to "accept each other amidst all flaws" that so subtly go along with all the other tangible and non-tangible factors. And this is clearly demonstrated in Mondler as well.
Monica and Chandler were SO unexpected, but SO right. Despite the Rachel/Ross and Rachel/Joey fiascos, this proved the writer's knew how to write a proper relationship.
I always preferred Monica and Chandlers’ relationship over Ross and Rachel. I saw a lot of myself in Monica and I had a crush on Chandler and so when they got together it gave me hope that love was possible in my own life.
The amount of positivity in this comment section gives me hope for the world. All of us coming together to revel in American sitcom's best couple. I didn't expect to feel this good coming out of a RUclips comment section.
I think their teasing each other works because it's rooted in the years long platonic friendship they first had. There's always the underlying love and respect there. There's no mean spiritedness and they don't take each other for granted. My other favorite sitcom is Everybody Loves Raymond, but in that case, Ray and Debra's making fun of each other is based on the power disparity within their marriage. They even did a whole episode on this idea.
Monica and Chandler have been one of my favourite fictional relationships ever since I was a teenager. I still remember watching that episode where they hooked up and the excitement I felt at following their love story.
Back in the day I shipped Ross and Rachel, but Monica and Chandler are wayyy more perfect for each other, because they're willing to put in the effort!
Yes, I agree. Wanna have a generalized discussion about it with someone like me over RUclips comments? :3. Keep in mind though, I haven't watched this show in _years,_ so my memory on some details might be more than a little fuzzy. :P.
It's really impressive how much of a mature masculine man Chandler grew to be. He started off acting like a scared little boy desperate to make anyone and everyone laugh.
That's bc he was like that IRL. Just said so on the reunion. Poor guy. I love he didn't completely change though. Even freaked out when the TWIN was being born.
Chandler and Monica are the epitome of beautiful healthy romance. Everything u said fits completely with them. They ARE the iconic couple that we should strive to be.
monica and chandler capture the mike schur lead couple dynamic person a: sarcasm, eccentricities, and a need to prove them self person b: type a, anxieties and greater emotional maturity jim and pam, leslie and ben, jake and amy, eleanor and chidi. as a fan of all these couples its probably why i monica and chandler were my favourite
It is honestly so relieving to see Monica and Chandler sometimes- the fact that their friendship was already great on it's own and they did have concerns about messing that up. In the end, their companionship was based on choice and affection - not some outlandish fantasy like Rachel and Ross.
After 25 years me and my wife still make fun of each other and we like watching reruns of this show. We look at Monica and Chandler and see a little bit of us in them.
That's the "this parachute is a knapsack" when he offers that they be each others 40 year old back up, too. It worked because it was building the whole time, but just enough under the surface it made sense when it happened.
a relationship like Monica and Chandlers is seriously goals how amazing to be with someone who is not just a lover but a friend eventually looks fade you want someone you genuinely like to be around. Love them and love your videos!
Yes, Mondler are my OTP of this show! I loved how they were close friends even before they got together, as they already knew each other really well. Their good-natured bickering was incredibly endearing, as they knew that the other wouldn't take offence, and that it was part of THEIR thing! 💘👫
It’s funny because they’ve become pretty much everyone’s OTP. Aspects of Ross and Rachel has not aged quite well, but Chandler and Monica’s relationship has stood the test of time.
I found it hilarious how couples like this or Barney and Robin in himym completely overshadowed (in himym it even destroyed) the supposedly main couple like Ross and Rachel/ Ted and Robin
Barney and Robin was just as worse as Ross amd Rachel. Barney literally manipulated Robin for weeks to get her to marry him and then continued the lying till the minute before they were going to marry when Robin qas going to run away.
Being too young to remember the first run of friends, I saw the final seasons before the first, and I think it's for that reason, that I actually considered Chandler and Monica the real protagonists of Friends. They're the only two people who have a meaningful character arc.
Two more things I would add that is likely why Chandler and Monica's relationship lasts compared to other relationships on the show: 1)It happened naturally and they were never forcing each other into a relationship 2)Their trust is what cemented and bonded their relationship, the perks of starting off as friends VS casual hook up, crushes, etc.
You bet i play every Mondler related video, i really love this couple so much more than Ross and Rachel there is something about Chandler and Monica, their relationship is so healthy and real. I love that one episode where Chandler tried to clean the apartment and then Ross freaks him out by telling that Monica will be angry at him because Monica knows when something jas change on her place, but in the end Monica appreciates what Chandler did. It goes to shows that Monica is already comfortable letting other people takes control on things around her.
I love Chandler and Monica because they’re relationship wasn’t forced and it was so genuine and realistic. They were the backbone of the rest of the show. Ross and Rachel were soooo forced, too many expectations, immaturity, etc and after a certain point the show should’ve just hung it up. It was clearly brought up at the end by audience choice.
Both are real relationships but Rochelle is the overexaggerated example of the everlasting teens who never get the footing of each other and incapable of growing away from their childish selfish ways as the girls said Mondler ended up growing out of their 20 something childish selves and Rochelle didn't.
I'm so GLAD you made this video! Monica and Chandler are everything anyone could hope for in more than just the kind of relationship you could want, but also the kind of relationship you NEED.
My favorite mondler moment is in season 1. They’re at the coffee house, and when everyone yells at Chandler to stop smoking, he does his monologue about flaws. Monica’s flaw, he says, is “that little snort when she laughs”. He could have picked any number of actual flaws (girly has control issues and a cleaning problem), but he picked a small insignificant habit of hers. I think it shows how much time he spends making her laugh, that it would be the first thing he thinks of.
Monica and Chandler's relationship is what I strive for. Watching Friends really changed me for the better, which is why it is, and always will be, my favorite tv show of all time.
ross and rachel is the typical tv romcom trope that ends with the character getting together but you do not see what the relationship is like Chandler and Monica got together, we saw how solid their relationship is, how they go through challenges... their maturity and self-awareness is such they decide first to hide the relationship from their friends to give it a chance to grow before submitting it to the scrutiny of the rest of the group
I also love how their relationship problems weren't linked to them being toxic but because of real life shit. Like Chandler having to live in Tulsa 5 days a week and they had to work extra hard to make their relationship work or when they had fertility problems and decided to adopt a baby or when Chandler decided to change his career and they had to live off on a budget that were lesser than they were used to or when Chandler had to actually face his terrible relationship with his father and invite them to their wedding or when Monica was feeling insecure and unsure of herself because of her mother, Chandler was always there to reassure her and remind her he loves her. You know, real life actual problems that actually make a relationship stronger. And they went through it all together with so much understanding and commitment to each other that makes you just wish the very best for the both of them because their love is so genuine. They really are the complete opposite of Rachel and Ross. While Ross was obviously the favorite child and was worshipped from the day he was born, Monica was always the fat sibling/friend who was always criticized and belittled by her mother. Rachel was the rich popular girl that everyone loved and envied and everything came easy for her while Chandler had to develop his own coping mechanism like making jokes to make people like him because he had such an unstable childhood. I think Chandler and Monica just understood how rare unconditional love and acceptance really is once they found it with each other because they never had it growing up which makes them work harder in their relationship because those things never came easy for them.
I like how half the fandom agree they prefer Monica and Chandler to Rachel and Ross. The on and off Rachel and Ross constantly did got tired with audiences. But their close friends have a better relationship they never realize was more healthy than their own.
Monica and Chandler....my ideal couple and ideal relationship....the way their is bond was potrayed in the series was so refreshing....also this video is gold
honestly, i think part of the reason that the chemistry between mon and chandler was so strong, was because of the chemistry between matthew and courtney 🫶
When I first saw this series in real time, Monica and Chandler's relationship snuck up on me. I didn't believe it up and until they got married and I wasn't impressed by it at all. BUT--having watched it (in it's entirety) the second time, I was able to see not only its plausibility, but also it's beauty and iconic idealization. Yay for Monica and Chandler!
I love how the writers got Chandler and Monica together. Glad that people like us the audience showed they belonged together. They have great chemistry. You start out as friends that’s what they did start out as friends then they married. I always thought Matthew Perry was good looking. Courteney Cox is a very beautiful woman. They both came from similar back grounds. Just glad they got married. And they adopted.
Monica had many toxic traits. Chandler himself was insecure, afraid of a committed relationship. But the thing that amazes me most that, they never tried to fix each other.Instead they embraced each other with their flaws and found comfort in each other. And thats why Mondler could become a healthy and successful couple. Ross and Rachel were way too toxic for each other.Mondler was really the glue of the group.
I noticed something, and this is from a will they won't they perspective: Ever since the beginning (although the writers weren't planning on making them an endgame), every time the two hugged or kissed it always seemed so sincere and passionate. The air of solidification was always there, like Joey once said, it seems as they just fit. I think that's one reason why their chemistry is so great. I've seen other TV couples who despite if being the endgame lack this aspect.
Monica and Chandler represent that what we want v what we need in a partner are two different things. Hence why Monica and Chandler work so well together, because they actually support and care for one another. Ross and Rachel are essentially the opposite, it's based more of want than actual need and therefore it crumbles.

AN ICONIC CROSSOVER
I think most of my favorite John Mulaney lines are all about his wife and/or marriage.
Anything can be summed up with a John Mulaney quote 😂
Ross and Rachel were made for the audience during 1994-2004 , Monica and Chandler were made for all of us
i really like the way u think
I like Monica and chandler better as a couple
Exactly 💖

Wow. By making Monica and Chandler's relationship the EXACT opposite of Ross and Rachel's relationship, it became the most healthy (and best) relationship in the show.
Its sad when the best relationship of your show is the exact opposite of your main relationship.
I think Mike and Phoebe was also healthy and also one of the best
@@soonsims yeah but it was kinda rushed
@@ktbecstasy yeah it was quite rushed
In similar way Morticia and Gomez was created- as opposition to dynamic from sitcoms in past. Ever nowadays thery're role model example in relationship!
Mondler is timeless. They're real, no extra drama, their ups and downs are cohesive to who they are. They never changed individually througout their relationship they just got better. Although they had their insecurities, they never let it truly affect each other in a negative way they always found a way out of their problems. This is a real relationship.
No replies and a thousand comments? The fuck?
I like Chanica better.
@@rebeccabruton9359 i only thing i remember is his fake laugh with his boss, she didn't like that he pretented to be someone he wasn't

Ross and Rachel are spoiled brats tbh that's why they never work until the Finale
That's why I hated the episode after the wedding. Why tear it apart the second they say 'I do'?
100%. I couldn't stand Ross and Rachel. They were seriously the worse part of the entire series.
I fell for my best friend, together for more than 2 yrs ❤
Really well put!!!
It bothered me that Rachel ,Phoebe and even Joey ,who adored them together, implied than Monica was too good for Chandler
Seconded, I always loathe on sitcoms that if a dorky guy is in a relationship with a supposedly "unattainable" girl, their friend group implies that she's WAY out of his league, even though he's usually JUST as charming and attractive as her. Examples include HIMYM's Lily and Marshall, and Donna and Eric from "That 70's Show!" 🙄😤
@@trinaq although a more toxic couple, Leonard and Penny from the big bang theory could fit in this category really well
Looks, Beauty standards is all it is
I totally see what you mean, but at the same time there are so many sitcoms where a very average-looking, often overweight guy is paired with a very good-looking slim woman, and no-one ever comments on it.
She was
Ross and Rachel : toxic and annoying couple
Rachel and Joey : no sense and no chemistry couple
Monica and Chandler : a healthy and amazing couple
Yes, you've summed up those dynamics in a nutshell! Monica and Chandler were, and still are, my relationship goals. There was little to no drama with them, and they seemed perfectly comfortable and at ease together, which is a delight to see. 😍
No chemistry between Joey and Rachel? Fight me.
@@RyoKasai25 what chemistry did Rachel and Joey have ? What sense did it make for Rachel and Joey to be together to creat more season and more episodes , as the series would end in season 8
@@trinaq in the end , just Monica and Chandler are a great , amazing and make sense together 😂😍
@@RyoKasai25 I'm Team Rachel & Joey too. If the writers had the guts to go thru with it, Joey and Rachel's relationship could have played out similarly to Chandler and Monica's. Joey adored Rachel, made her happy, and wanted to be there for her and Emma.
Ross and Rachel were a TV relationship. Monica and Chandler were a real relationship.
Exactly and this is why they'll never be as iconic as Roschel because Friends is a tv show...
"They can say that you're high maintainence but it's okay because I like maintaining you" is somehow the most romantic line on the show TT
FR is the cutest thing he said T:T
And everyone thought chandler would be the last one to get married. He actually made the best husband.
Mondler is the proof that Writers should listen to their audience.
Omg yes! I absolutely love that scene ♡

@@ajpristine4809 Must have been a very early episode.
@@ajpristine4809 It's in Season 3 - The One With The Flashback
I love how their romance was not that over the top and shoved into our faces. It was subtle and felt real in a way Ross and Rachel's didn't.
@@mankytoes agreed ! It would have been better if Rachel had gone to Paris in my opinion.

same lol. sometimes i skip to the season where they start to get together
i often find myself watching their episodes specifically and skipping all of ross and rachel's drama
@Nelson Robert Willis yeah true
Ross and Rachel grew a lot too but separately, that's why at the end of the show when they get back together you could see their relationship wasnt gonna be the same
as time goes by after season 5 Monica and Chandler start looking like adults surrounded by Teenagers
They have such a healthy loving relationship compared to all the toxic relationships on TV.
Ross and Rachel for example 😂
Monica and Chandler were couple goals before they were even a couple.
It's true! Pre-relationship they still had amazing moments!
@Nelson Robert Willis Chandler also calls Monica beautiful several times without the intent of dating her. His mind-set is sort of like: "Well, yeah if she'd want to I'd do it for sure but even if she doesn't she's the most stunning woman in the world, period." I love moments like that.
Like when Chandler comforted her when she felt bad about not having a boyfriend
Morticia and Gomez would beg to differ.
@@Moszan Yeah for sure but we meet them after they're married. They're more like: Marriage goals. We see Chandler & Monica before so it's fun to see how they vibed before even being together. But yes, I wish me & my husband still had that Adams Family passion! 🔥
Yup, Chandler and Monica tease each other in love, while Ross and Rachel judge each other in fear.
(They're Ross and Rachel, they have to be together!)
If it really was meant to be, how come they never get it right until the very end, you know? I know the timing wasn't always right, but most of the time, what kept them from being together was themselves.
In my opinion, Monica and Chandler focused on love as a journey, while Ross and Rachel saw it as an end to achieve.
I think a big part of it was that Courtney Cox and Matthew Perry really did like each other and where friends and that showed in their characters as well.
There is a lot of proof that Matthew really have a crush on Courteney. But I'm not really sure if Courteney have a same feeling towards him.
I mean to be fair, Jennifer and David had admitted that throughout most of the show they also had feelings for each other, but the timing was always wrong. All the characters have chemistry, the writing for Chandler and Monica is just so much better.
Monica and Chandler were " the ultimate lobsters "

I'm willing to believe that if the show continued a little further, Monica would have found out she was pregnant not long after adopting the twins. It's not unheard of.
@@sarahsbakingcreations because courtney was pregnant

If only all relationships were like this, how lucky we would all be.

Chandler 's giggle when he opens Monica's messy closet brings me so much joy!!!!!
I wait every time on this episode for him to sing the Sanford and Son theme. LOL

This video just gave me so much relationship advice that books couldn’t
Wow thankyou so much for saying that line "It's important to meet people where they actually are not where you want them to be"
Being too young to remember the first run of friends, I saw the final seasons before the first, and I think it's for that reason, that I actually considered Chandler and Monica the real protagonists of Friends. They're the only two people who have a meaningful character arc.
The best couple in Friends!
Love their chemistry!
Last time I am this early, Monica and Chandler are just 'goofing' around
Two more things I would add that is likely why Chandler and Monica's relationship lasts compared to other relationships on the show: 1)It happened naturally and they were never forcing each other into a relationship 2)Their trust is what cemented and bonded their relationship, the perks of starting off as friends VS casual hook up, crushes, etc.
When everyone acknowledges the kind of a guy Chandler is but forget the reason for him being that is actually Monica❤️
Monica and Chandler are truly the best on-screen couple I've ever seen.
can't wait for when you eventually talk about Jake and Amy !!!
The thing is they both knew their soulmates, but still ended up with person they really love😭❤
I was never able to get into this show until they became a couple.
I'm so GLAD you made this video! Monica and Chandler are everything anyone could hope for in more than just the kind of relationship you could want, but also the kind of relationship you NEED.
I love how healthy Monica and Chandler are, they know exactly how to handle each other. their relationship is just calming and relaxing
My take from these retrospectives is that Ross and Rachel's friends were FREAKING SAINTS for putting up with all their drama.
Always seemed that Rachel and Phoebe were envious of their relationship
It did but Phoebe seemed to stop once she met and married Mike, who was absolutely perfect for her
They flat out said so. Rachel...went from only 50% jealous to 90% or something like that when her and Phoebe were on the couch talking about it. LOL
I noticed something, and this is from a will they won't they perspective:
Ever since the beginning (although the writers weren't planning on making them an endgame), every time the two hugged or kissed it always seemed so sincere and passionate. The air of solidification was always there, like Joey once said, it seems as they just fit. I think that's one reason why their chemistry is so great.
I've seen other TV couples who despite if being the endgame lack this aspect.
This was so heartwarming, makes me want to re-watch Friends all over again. R.I.P Matthew 🥲
Monica and Chandler represent that what we want v what we need in a partner are two different things. Hence why Monica and Chandler work so well together, because they actually support and care for one another. Ross and Rachel are essentially the opposite, it's based more of want than actual need and therefore it crumbles.
The chemistry w these two was incredible. 🔥 I loved the little knowing looks when they first got together and were eachother’s “dirty little secret”.
