I remember playing serious sam next encounter with my little brother it introduced me to the series, we spent countless hours into it trying to complete the game on serious difficulty for the gold medals it was fun and i wish croteam would remaster it or at least port it to modern consoles
Next Encounter seems to be getting a lot more attention over the past year, strange for a game which I consider fairly mediocre as an overall experience, but it definitely had some interesting ideas.
It had the best level design, the best atmosphere, the best weapons, the arcade aspect was a blessing and a curse. I think the games hyper focus gives me a headache personally
great review i always find your videos fun and relaxing, one thing though, when you mention stuff like the uzi sounding weak etc, please show us the viewer so we can see what you mean, just some feedback keep it up!
There's something called Dolphin Mouse Injector that allows you to play this game with mouse and keyboard, and it works pretty well. It solves many of the frustrations, as good controls usually do. Overall, the Next Encounter is preeetty good.

Funnily enough, I actually got into the SS series with the non Croteam games.

Love playing next encounter on Steam deck since you have the option to use the track pads as a mouse for aiming
I'm so sad they didn't include the GBA weapons. The time gun seemed like such a cool concept!
