I am 47 years old from Australia and last year ended with me feeling like a complete failure UNTIL I looked over the last decade of my life. Although I started the year the way I began it - no job, no income, very few friends, bad health & no idea what I was going to do with my life, I realise that I did hold a successful job that I was bloody good at for 10 years. I divorced a loser and found the love of my life. I watched both my children graduate school AND gain degrees. I got my own degree! I watched my son marry his dream girl. And I started my own business. Now looking forward - my dream(s) for the next decade are to become a well recognised podcast host and personality as an advocate for family & domestic abuse, to build my dream house on the beach front, to earn a living of over $200,000 each year. This decade I will be turning 50 so I feel this should definitely be my best decade ever! I've earned it!!!

I put my music career on hold for 25 years, so I could be a good father and husband.
I didn’t want to be an absentee father. (touring)
I am now 56 years old.
Now my children are grown and my youngest daughter is now in art school.
I am ready to finally follow my own dreams! ❤️🎵

I am 15 years old, and I have lived in the same, small Texas my whole life. Looking at this past year, I can't help but feel like I didn't reach my goals because I was too passive, and I let my family get in the way. Don't get me wrong, they love me, but they don't understand me. I've been unhealthy my whole life, my whole family has, and I wanted 2019 to be the year that changed. There were complications though, my parents got divorced, I had an identity crisis, and I started to feel depressed. Thankfully, I am doing a lot better now, and have even lost 30 lb since July. I'm still not healthy, and there were other dreams of mine that I am yet to achieve, but I really want this new decade to be the dawning of a new period of my life. I'm going to graduate high school, start college, probably get my first partner, and so much more this decade. I really hope this course gives me the tools I need to expand and pursue my dreams.
I'm about to sign up for the course, see y'all there.

Hi Mel! I just started the program, and the part in this where you say “Of course you could! Why not you?” Really touched me. I spent 5 years in a relationship with someone who made my dreams small, and told me I couldn’t achieve the big things and continuously told me I wasn’t good enough. I heard “No” a lot.
When you said “Of Course you could! Why not you?” It really touched me deeply, because it’s exactly what I needed to hear.
I’m excited to learn how to dream big again, and to continue to follow my passions in life. Thanks for being you!

I am turning 62 in a few days. I'm starting on my own after the death of my husband in 1017. I am preparing my current home for sale and having to remodel it on my own and on a budget. I have been exhausted lately from working 10 to 15 hour days. Dealing with my 45 yrs. old son, his wife and their 3 children ( long story). I have not been able to fulfill my ongoing dreams since I was 15 yrs. old. The "no you can't" factor. I've been limited in my success due to my Mother and choice of husband for the last 44 yrs. before his passing. But After seeing other dreams I think I need 10 dreams. So I added onto my 5 I wrote.

@18:10 and 19:05, Mel probably meant The Zeigarnik Effect (We remember unfinished or incomplete tasks more than completed tasks. For example, students can use this effect wisely by purposely taking a break from studying in the midst of a chapter, they are then more likely to go back to finish reading the rest of the chapter.).
She may also meant RAS: Reticular Activating System which is like our brains’ filtering function (Once you notice birds singing, you hear them singing everywhere even from a far-away.)
I think Mel’s dreams are absolutely superb, and she did a fantastic job here!
    Who else agrees with me..?!

I've had a few dreams for so long i think I've sabotaged them by listening to too many naysayers and adopted the 'unrealistic' logic to them. This feels like a second chance (so to speak) to 'gitter done'. I cleaned my desk at work to set up for this week, and found a reminder a co-worker gave me: "If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough." Serendipity, right?

Thank you Mel and your ‘Team’. The fact that I’ve printed out the book and sitting here pen in hand to do ‘the work’... is significant. There have been many a program that has caught my eye and even got a sign up... but those stinkin’ limiting thoughts get in the way. Your approach... constantly addressing the all too common blocks and insecurities getting in the way of ‘movement ‘ is so helpful. Understanding the bs and our brains and allowing us to just be human... and somehow giving us (unneeded... yet sadly needed , permission) to accept our own humanity. Knowing we are not unique in the blocks and fears... but that our individuality and uniqueness can only find its way to us and the world by getting past the sameness. Taking away the power of feelings to control us while recognizing and validating them... reframing and thus re-teaching our lovely brains and minds. Hope for healing the lies we’ve believed... but deep down doubted. Bless you! Divorced, bankrupt, and starting over with 2 children in elementary school at 50 and living at home with aging parents. I’m so loving that I can confidently kick the limiting thoughts in the teeth and your guidance in doing just that. Love this community. Sending good thoughts and encouragement to you and my fellow seekers! Your dreams Mel, ARE coming true 💜

I was happy and satisfied in a job I had worked in for 25 years...thought I would retire from there. But things change, new CEO's, different ideas, down sized/restructured, lost the job I had as a Nurse Manager. I cried for a few weeks...but then decided that I had always dreamed of getting a higher degree. When most of my friends were preparing for retirement, I started back to school at age 47; finished my bachelors, masters, and doctorate. Embarked on a new career at age 52 as a Certified Nurse Midwife! I have accomplished more in the last decade than I did in the 4.5 before! You are never too old!

Mel... I am so happy I came across your video today... for the past 16 years I have not been dreaming at all and I use be a BIG dreamer and I use to make my DREAMS come true! I use to be a planner I planned my wedding and the birth of my children and I truly lived a beautiful life... Sadly... In 2004 I realized you can;t plan everything in your life... my hubby was diagnosed with brain cancer and he battled brain cancer for 11 1/2 years after he was told he only had weeks to live. I was so proud of my hubby... I stood proudly by his side trying to save his life and I'd do it all over again.. I had to leave my job to become his full-time caretaker right after his diagnoses. He was in a wheel chair and could no longer speak. Sadly he lost his life to brain cancer in 2015 and in the process of me trying to save his life and dealing with the grief that I endured after his death I sadly lost myself and I lost my purpose in this World. Ever since I heard the doctor tell my hubby and I those words "I AM SO SORRY YOU HAVE BRAIN CANCER" for me I stopped DREAMING because I had to go into SURVIVAL MODE TO SURVIVE CANCER AND THE LOSS OF MY HUBBY! There is one word that has kept me from Dreaming ... it is called FEAR... See cancer and death causes FEAR. I want to be that BIG dreamer again that makes her DREAMS COME TRUE... I want to start living LIFE TO IT'S FULLEST AGAIN without FEAR and with a PURPOSE again! One of my biggest dreams is in LIFE has always been to sell everything I own and relocate to Florida and retire... this has been a long time dream of mine for years. So what better time to make this dream come true since I am 58 year old now. I know this decade can be the best decade of my LIFE it is up to me and I know Mel with your help I can achieve or at least try! Thank you Mel and to your team for creating this program. I am so looking forward to living life to it's fullest again without FEAR and with PURPOSE...

I am a 56 almost 57 year old women - my last decade was filled with many ups and downs. The ups are the birth of grandchildren who always can put a smile on my face. I have went on a downward spiral by letting my addict daughter control my thoughts, words, actions and so much more. I have found resources which are helping me piece this together and realize that I have no control over this. Some days are easier than others. We are transitioning our farm to one of the children (my step-son) which is difficult. I started a Chalk Couture (crafting) business which I would love to grow. Also I am ready to set into semi - retirement mode although the communication with my husband and I is terrible on this subject.

They way she can, on-the-fly, 180 something such as the question today in such simple yet powerful and tangible language. Her displays of being a "real person" ... chatting away to the staff, picking up the phone to call her daughter. She's not just like us, but is one of us. No ivory towers here. Thanks Mel.

That is a great dream. And you can accomplish that dream in seconds. Just say, "Dad, I love you." And just be silent after you say it, and wait. Let him be the next one to speak. He might not say it back on the first attempt. But just keep telling him you love him each time you talk to him on the phone when you hang up, and tell him each time you're with him when you say goodbye.

I started telling my dad and brothers I loved them on the phone. They were quiet for a while then they'd say me too and then they'd mumbled it out. Now they say I love you or respond with I love you too. I remember when they actually said it I got choked up. I know they love me but to actually get to hear them say it is somehting else. I tell them I love them all the time I tell my friends and other family members to. So take the first step with a note ,a phone and if you don't get a response right away don't stop telling them. I am sure you will attain your dream in no time. Best wishes !

Normally I'm not one who watches or reads self help books or videos. Not that I'm without my issues but the only time I've really listened and been able to turn myself around is when someone can/will talk to me in a real way. I've only had two or three people just put it to me straight which has made me straighten my ass out. You are the first person in a long time who just says it like it is! It's refreshing and you have caught my attention!

It's interesting, when I think about my dreams, (time with my kids, enough money to take care of us and do fun things, cure type 1 diabetes, no more punching a clock) it's all connected to one thing; becoming financially free. No idea how that will happen, super scary and impossible dream to me right now.

I started late, then kept getting interrupted, finally watched the whole video, preparing to get into the workbook, 21 yrs ago divorced the 3rd loser, I felt at the time it was me, went through all my self defeating language, went through some counseling, and began listening to motivational speakers and reading some powerful books. I now know I am an amazing woman, I raised my kids alone, they all graduated and went on with their lives, things were rough although they were never without. I completed my education Masters in Nutrition and Health Education, I've learned how to attract more positive in my life, i am now surrounded with a group of like minded folks and learning from them as much as I know they learn from me. I motivate and inspire many to live their truth, each time I also learn more about myself. Ive been working on a book for a while in journal form, and this year finally got serious and began typing in a word document seeing at a book helps. it is describing the trauma I lived through as a child and young adult, not to insult those that broke my heart rather to encourage others no matter where you are, or what has happened there really is a bright light for you to reach your dream.. I do believe being on this journey with you all and learning from yet another powerful motivational speaker Mel Robbins I will publish my first book, and help many.. nice to meet you all. Namaste

In fact dreams are what keep us inspired to pursue goals - a goal is nothing more than breaking down your dreams into smaller steps - one goal at a time in the end is the accomplishment of a big dream ....for instance - I live in Brazil and one of my dreams is living abroad - working for Mindvalley in Malaysia - breaking down in goals ( I need to take my passport + I need to record a video cover to Apply to the job + I need to save money to take with me for the first month before payment there + while in Brazil I need to keep improving my personal development journey and take a Storytelling training) See the difference? Dreams x goals ? Hope I could help ...

Hi Mel. I'm 49 years old, i'm from the Philippines and i'm really glad i joined this program. My problem is that i no longer have a big dream at this time. My mind keeps telling me that I'm already old to start dreaming again. I have some achievements that i'm proud of but when i resigned from my last job last June 2019, I suddenly got lost on what I want to do and I lost the inspiration to have a dream and thus i 've become inactive. Although I know that this is not healthy and I know i have the talent and skills to do more, I am really looking for that motivation or inspiration to kick start my next decade, I really hope i can find it. Thanks for coming up with this program.

I grew up with a dad who always wanted to teach us our limits, who never thought it was possible for us to achieve much etc. It took me some time to figure out that this stemmed from his own insecurity. I'm making a conscious effort to do the opposite and not impart limited beliefs on my kids.
My dream is for as many people as possible to read the book I'm writing on motherhood. It's in French and French publishers are very hard to please. I have gotten used to the idea that I will just publish an e-book. But I know inside of me that having a real published book (on paper) out in the world would be the best thing ever. I feel like everything in my life (studying in Paris, reading a lot, experiencing pain, love, loss and motherhood above all) has prepared me to write this book that I'm pouring myself into. I know it would be valuable for many women because I'm not leaving anything out.
I also want to dedicate more time to my blog and have more readers in that way as well.

I think I have been shut down for so long, I don't think I have ever had any big dreams. I was in a narcissistic marriage for years and have been on my own for 13 years now, it feels like I've just been treading water and making do. I do get overwhelmed, maybe because I don't have enough faith in myself, I can relate to the lady who said she didn't write dreams down because she just gets sad. I'm really hoping this will work for me and give me the courage to leave the job I really don't enjoy and do something that makes me want to get up for in the morning x

I am going to be 65 years old this year and I have just retired from a 30 year academic career that I loved. I feel like dreaming big for this time in my life might be difficult. I feel like I have done the things that I have wanted to do with my life and should be enjoying the fruits of my labour right now. On the other hand, I have to admit that I feel a bit at loose ends after retiring in June. I am not sure what my purpose in life is anymore so I am spending a lot of time just puttering around and not really "accomplishing" anything. What advice do you have for someone my age? Thanks! Thank you Mel for giving me the opportunity to even think about dreaming again. I think I have gotten caught up in day to day life that I actually forgot what it was like to dream or to think I deserve to have any new dreams. I feel guilty saying I want more out of my life but with you starting this class it has opened my heart and my mind to having that child like attitude of dreaming big again. It's been a rough couple of years and I'm excited to look at my future dreams instead of the dreaded word GOALS. Goals to me sound like work but dreams sound more exciting, hopeful and something to look forward to in the future. I'm ready to dream and looking forward to see those dreams come true within the next 10 years or sooner.
Thank you for sharing your dreams as well and looking forward to hearing as they come true for you.💗

Im 42 amd a single mum to one 16 year old daughter, and have been for 15 years, working full time 9-5 grind.. She has had some major health issues last year which turned our lives upside down and im only now kind of coming back from and she is getting back on her feet. 2019 was very rough for us. In saying that and looking back with new perspective, most of my adult life I have given up 'before' even trying and then telling myself im not good enough and i dont have what it takes to succeed. Which obviously is utter Bullshit!!! The past year has shown me the enormous level of strength I have and what I am capable of getting through. Now I want to channel all of that in to being so financially f@#king secure that I never have to worry about money again, and having the ability to always provided for myself, mind, body and spirit. This year I plan to start my own business. And that dream Range Rover ..... has my name on it!!! #australian

This morning, after listening to your broadcast, I felt energized and started filling my dream book. Review of 2019, dreams expectations for 2020, everything was flowing until I reach question number 4 on page 10 "If money wasn't an issue, what would you be working toward right now?... Blank, I 'm not able to write down anything... Am I keeping last decade's working track by fear to change and do something else? Until now, I didn't make the most of it, my limiting beliefs have been shrinking my ambitions and I obviously can do it better and reach greater results (not only financial ones). Sometimes, quitting might also be the right answer so my question is: How do you know when it's time to quit and take another direction without been moved by fear and lack of courage?
