YES‼️ I’m 62 years old, single for ten years…I was a stay at home mom, married 25 years to a cheater. I got the courage to leave and I didn’t get a single penny. I was scared, mad and discouraged l. I had no idea how I was going to help my child in her first year of college and raise my youngest son with no money! I spent three miserable years feeling sorry for myself…Lost my home, car and everything. I finally reluctantly took a retail job I hated but I had a little money. The following year I received a scholarship to the writers program at UCLA. I was in shock! I thought I’d finish my novel…Guess what I just now have a rough first draft…I started it in 2015…yikes! I don’t allow my age to keep me back. THANK YOU MEL for inspiring me today!!! I know my dream very well but my fear has had the power…no more! You are such a bright light!

Woohoo! I’m just out of a 14 year relationship with a man that walked out on me and cheated and left with so much unknown and have picked myself up and making the choice to focus on me and my 19 year old and 14 year old daughters! And working towards my dreams!!!❤️. You aren’t alone friend (my oldest daughter I had to leave when she was 1 year old, an emotionally abusive man). I know my value and my worth and am choosing growth and my dreams, we do find strength in the deepest valleys and super hard stuff

    The work:
Write down 5 dreams a day. Make it a habit to claim what you want. Dont over think. Grab a blank piece of paper, write down whatever desires you have. Do not judge your dreams. Do not block them. Let them out on paper. Does not matter how realistic they are or not. Just write down 5 for that day and repeat daily. These dreams will inspire the work needed to achieve them. See these dreams on the paper. They can be specific, realistic, outlandish. See them in real time. You’re doing this, letting desires and dreams flow freely. Brain takes notice of things that are important to you in order to work with you not against you. Brain will go to work to help you get them done. A little summary for myself. not word for word.

@Wendy Albrecht LOVE that saying, wording, analogy, etc. Hope you are okay with me totally repurposing it. Ooh I'm about to make a big claim. But, lots of people do and no one pays attention to them and then they move on. But, how cool when I actually do it and get a point to this. You will see that again someday when I step into Mel's place because she left a big gaping hole open for people that want to do what she was doing and go around and give these TED talks and create these seminars and getaways and yeah, lol. I want to be big. I want it to be huge. I want to make a global impact with simple things like kindness and compassion and small, really small, just random acts of a little more. Extra. Just go out of your way to thank somebody for doing their job, especially if they do it great. If somebody tells you something and they stick to their word, tell them how much you appreciate that. That is a quickly, really really quickly, diminishing expectation. These younger people have opportunities we could have never dreamed of. But, here's the thing guys, we have the same opportunities too!!! No more excuses. You nailed it Mel, you always do. In fact, when I saw the title of this one I thought oh wow for the first time ever I can just skip this one, should have known better. Same thing with the four different relationship styles. As soon as you started naming them I went to a specific person in my mind and started diagnosing others and thought well I'm not really any of these until the second time around I decided to focus and be honest and real and oh yeah I'm a big anxiety type with a little Dash here and there of avoiding you know the whole Spectrum thing but I am breathing. And as long as I'm doing that, I'm going to keep dreaming. And because of Mel, my dreams are no longer miniscule or insignificant or not really that important so if I don't do it it's not really going to change anything. Nope, I have to go to like Global like worldwide and now I feel like it's mine not only purpose and reason to be here, but just thinking about how many different people will be impacted by this decision and how big it could really get and how much I want it now important it is and on and on and on, that there is my kind of secret weapon when I feel completely stuck. I just think of some small little person who doesn't have access to clean water and if there's anything that I can do to try and fix that then there you go. What ego? Seriously, is there anything more important than helping our fellow man? I'm going to stop now because then all the yeah caca people that just don't dream and don't hope and hurt and gave up or going to chime in and, don't have time for that shit. I hope everybody has a blessed and enlightening and creative rest of your evening and I hope you wake up bright and refreshed tomorrow. And, remember to hit your high five and remember to do your Journal and if You Begin your journey or continue on with me to learning and wanting more. Either way, sending courage and strength out there if you are reading this and really need it.

I'm now beginning the process of starting to nurturing my dreams again. The day of the race came.. Mel, it was truly amazing!! We literally ran( jogged) 13.1 miles!!!!! Hey..you own a clothing store? one of my dreams is to have GRETCHIES STRETCHIES in at least one shop I'm every state. They are the best scrunchies and get rave reviews! ( I've been making them for 26 years.😁

Well done! Thank you! I am beginning to see the possibilities. I'm reinventing myself at 50 because I've been a mess my whole life. It can be difficult to know the difference between talking myself out of a dream or goal and being aware of the consequences and negative aspects of "going for it."

I decided that too! 2022 was a rough year, and I'm still on the path of getting to know myself deeply, but I'm not afraid anymore. I'm 42 and have had a bad marriage, but for the last 2 1/2 years I have been growing. I'm so scared some days of taking the steps, but I'm no longer afraid of being alone, or being not good enough, and that feels good. I'm afraid of where I'm going, but I'm going anyways! I stepped into 2023 like I'm stepping into a new life. I take care of me, and then my kids, and then my husband if he's open to it. And if he's not, it's no longer disappointing.

I wake up today tired and I felt when I snooze the alarm, my body giving up, and I didn't understand why I was so tired so I started to feeling down and depressed and then,
I remembered the 5 sec rule and I had a glimpse of "my dreams" and It felt like a fire inside myself and suddenly I wasn't tired or depressed anymore,
I felt like something on my body on and I felt fueled and empowered
all this happened in a matter of seconds so I cling onto the feeling of bliss inside myself because I didn't want to let it go... and I realize..
Why our dreams are so important? it give us fuel to live. Then I started to feel better about everything, slowly but surely, I noticed how my mindset and my body started to change the second I decide to not overthink about it and just follow my bliss.
And I tell you, this is the first day in my week that I woke up because I feel like doing it and It was a clear message for myself.
And this podcast is a confirmation.
Thank you Mel, you're tremendously valuable.

I'm listening to this today, just when I received the best news about an invention I came up with a few months ago. Everything is happening in a way that is pushing me forward... I'm excited, nervous, nauseous, it's crazy :) It happened because I decided to leave my corporate job. After 25 years I realized it wasn't them, it was me, this was not the life I wanted, those titles would never fill my cup. I needed to create that space for this idea to manifest itself. I'm an entrepreneur, always was, I was just in the wrong place :) Thank you for all you do!

I'm 34 years old and this year i decided to enroll in college . After high school i didn't go to college i choose to work .. my first reason is we don't have money , 2nd my grades is not good 😅 i have a poor performance when i was in high school, but now after 18 years i decided to go in college, and at this moment I'm preparing for this journey. Some people around me telling me that I'm too old for this. They think that I won't get accepted in college because of my low grades.
But i don't listen to them instead i am preparing hard for this.
I'm hoping for a positive result. I know that i can do this.

I’m 30, leaving a high paying corporate career that I’ve excelled in - but never truly liked. I was SO burnt out and unhappy that I resigned from my position without a “backup plan.”
Now I am intentionally unemployed, 10 month postpartum, will be applying to nursing school within the next few days and even though I have every reason to be freaking out… I KNOW in my core that this is what I have always wanted since I was fresh out of high school. I had convinced myself that I wasn’t smart enough and graduated with a degree that I never truly wanted. You have no idea how the “It’s not okay to be small” quote hit home for me. I was too comfortable and I refuse to be small!

Sometimes we underestimate that there are other factors happing outside of us to support this dream... that they start happening when you make a move to claim it! All the things and people that you didn't realize they were thinking about you for the positions you desire. They start appearing as you start the expansion. Give yourself credit for the dreams you have already made and the time put in already. You are doing it now! You must believe in the dream. It is unfolding like a beautiful tapestry being woven. ♡

Oh my God, Mel I crying 😪😪😪 as I listen to this. Because I have dreams of being a writer. And this week I decided to pre launch my makeup business. Today I woke up feeling great organizing everything, then something happened, I got scared. What if something goes wrong. I manifested this since last year. I heard my voice say don't worry about taking pictures of people, just get the products up. And I met obstacles, now I want to open my store. Theses are the last years in my 50's and I have this pressure to get it right before I turn 60. My current living arrangements aren't where I would love for them to be but I'm grateful I have a place to live. At this point Mel, I feel lost, and alone.
