You are indeed first! And yeah Warzone TD really did a lot of things right and I wish it was still being worked on today. I really appreciate your kind words as well, it always means a lot to me seeing such awesome comments!
@@PhenomixNo problem dude! If I ever get popular, I’ll definitely try n make a video on this to see if it catches on and maybe influence a sequel? The creator probably won’t do it, but it’s worth a shot. I also have direct connections to tewtiy so when I manage to re-establish those ( old discord account with said connections got falsely disabled a few months back and discord refuses to enable it so I’ve been using a newer account for a while ), I’ll probably recommend it to him to see if he wants to make a video on it! Hope you get to 5k subs soon dude! ❤
Most of the features you mentioned is why I love Gemcraft Chasing Shadows/Frostborn Wrath. Gemcraft Labyrinth is also pretty good, anything before this is mostly for nostalgia because it feels tedious to play with random gems and lack of features that the newer games have. The only other TD game that had mazing from what I remember playing, around 2008, is Desktop Tower Defense.
Ive seen a couple people mention Gemcraft, I'll definitely have to check that game out soon. And yeah I didn't realize Desktop TD also has this open world approach to Tower Defense, I'm pretty sure that game is actually the first Flash Tower Defense game as well. It's a shame this style didn't catch on past Command Grid in 2010 it seems
memories, a lot of memories. i used to play it a lot when flash player was still a thing. i have a lot of nostalgia and sometimes i still go back to those. however warzone wasn't the only one i used to play, if you can, give a try to command grid. is in the same style
I'm definitely gonna make a video on Command Grid as well, I even considered mentioning it in this video. But yeah I just found it yesterday and noticed that game is sort of like the spiritual successor to Warzone TD
This game was part of my childhood and I'm really glad to see it getting the attention it deserves, I'd almost forgotten about it. Personally though, I prefer longer range towers like the missile launcher and heavy canon to the flak and pulse, since they are always firing and therefore always contributing
The heavy cannon is definitely the best tower in the game I think after playing for awhile. It has one of the highest damage per second compared to its cost and also has a huge blast radius. The cannon is also good for the early game with a very similar dps compared to its cost. The missile might also be better for airplanes, especially jets since each missile can track them down. I noticed the flak cannon misses a lot
If we are talking about good tower defence games, i have one Infinitode 2 Its a tower defence game with like 16 towers (basic, sniper, cannon, freezing, antiair, multishot, blast, minigun, toxic, tesla, missle, laser, gauss, crusher and some that i missed) and multiple different enemies and bosses (fighter splits into 3 upon death and Constructor spawns enemies on its own), you can also mine resources to buy upgrades that make your next runs easier, and if your defence is lacking, you can buy abilities to help you out, there are 3 difficulties Easy - gives the lowest rewards but you can just relax (stage based) Regular - gives the normal rewards and you have to focus a bit (stage based) Endless - has unique upgrades you can buy and you can go on forever
Lmao, just played it now. The thing that has short range and only hits ground is pretty broken with the walls, once I realised you could upgrade. The upgrade shop doesn't work though. -sincerely Uel
Great video! Really brought me back to the old days. Speaking of the old days, you should cover Onslaught 2.2 next. It's honestly a really interesting Flash TD, and has some very unique mechanics like combinations and merging. I would love to see it get more recognition!
I believe the progenitor of the "build your own maze" style of TD was, likely Desktop Tower Defense. The round timer element reminds me of Gemcraft, among other things. Does this let you send waves early for some kind of bonus?
I didn't realize that desktop td had this same style, I think it's also the first Flash Tower Defense game ever made in general. And this game does let you send rounds early but unfortunately there isn't a bonus for it, although when you have built a huge maze you can keep sending rounds to try and set a new record. That's what the current world record of round 418 did
There are actually quite a few of these tower defense games where you can influence the path of the monsters. Dungeon Warfare is my favorite game in this tower defense sub-genre because it has nice sound effects, physics based towers, and some light meta progression.
Aye bro huge fan of the content recently I’m pretty sure I’ve watched all your videos. This one is a banger love to see the diversity. Keep up the good work man🫶 love from Wyoming
Wow, that is so awesome to hear, I really appreciate all your support! It's a shame to see this video underperforming so far but I'm hoping it will pick up in due time
Never seen this game, not even during my childhood days of flash games (though I do recall playing something vaguely similar: "Z-Wars"), but the way you talk about it makes it sound really fun. :)
I don't think Warzone TD was as popular as some other flash games back then, I mainly knew about it because it was on the front page of Andkon Arcade which I always used to find Flash Games back then
You should to do a BTD5 or older games live stream if u want to. I am sorry if I copied your special mission live stream Ik it’s deleted but I wanna show how I do my progress. I like your videos and keep going!
I've to say, other than BTD, Tower Defense games such as this one were also a good time killer. Open free space where you can block enemy path and redirect them in your own flair makes each game on the same map that more unique. Not with just the towers but placeable walls as well, and depending on the dev's options, could be impenetrable or have some form of health system to make it more impactful in the later rounds. Even Ninja Kiwi has done something similar with SAS:ZA TD, and it's a shame there's no sequel to it. Similar structure to Warzone TD, with placeable temporary walls, and two different attack tower types being mechanical turrets and SAS soldiers. If the exit is completely walled, the zombies basically have to plow through the defenses and attack your turrets, and will prioritize SAS soldiers before anything else, unless they're placed on unreachable high ground. This video kinda wants me to replay that game now that I mentioned it...
I really forgot about SAS I definitely have to make a video on that sometime now. I definitely think if Warzone TD had gotten sequel the developers definitely would've considered expanding the way that walls work and it would definitely be cool if enemies could attack them as well.
I relly like youre channel but you kinda put videous slow... I see all youre videous and plz put more videous whit baloons monkey city that is my favorit game. 😊
First! ( ..I think )
This game looks pretty awesome from the first minute! Definitely gonna watch this asap, goated videos dude!

It's nice to see this game get some well deserved attention
Hopefully some people visit it from this video
I love the whole building your own path for the enemies concept so much.
Same here!
The 3d models are so appealing
I definitely agree!
ill definitely try this game out when i have more time
I loved this one 😢
Ahhh nostalgia 🥲

Reminds me of some other old games like bubble tanks tower defense, and geodefense (swarm, at least)
Since BTTD is similar to this, and Geodefense Swarm is basically that but hexagonal
I'll have to check them out for sure!
Damn. I played this on Poptropica as a goddamn child
yoooo i saw this on oml, didn't get to play it in time tho
There's still a chance to play it without Flash Player now!
Never heard of this one, looks pretty cool though
I've been looking for this game since I played it way back! I didn't know english back then so I could never find it
I'm glad I could help you find it then!

@@Phenomix i forgot to say that there is also a map creator in this game
This looks like a better version of a game I used to play in my childhood called Robo Defense
I don't think I've heard of that one before, I'll have to check it out
im not 100% sure but i think the guy who made this was like 15 years old, really impressive!
Woah that's actually insane, hopefully he's getting to work in the gaming industry in someway today if that's the career he was looking to have!
Might enjoy Mindustry has a similiar route building in a tower defense
I'll definitely check it out
I miss when shaping a path for your enemies was the default.
I used to play this back in middle school. Such a great game. Flash had goated games before it went down
I found it on Andkon Arcade back in the day, that used to be my favorite Flash Game website
