    Hey hey, @theit-unicorn1873, the tech wizard! So, after a wild goose chase with Rufus 4.3, even my laptop's stubborn UEFI mode couldn't be convinced to play nice with GPT. Then, feeling adventurous, I gave a shot at a 64GB USB with a measly 20GB persistent partition - no dice! Just when I thought it was game over, Ventoy swooped in like a superhero, though without the all-important persistence. But then, like magic, your Ventoy persistence video came to the rescue, and now I'm living the tech dream! Major props to you, my savior! Thanks a million, you rock! 🚀🌟

    Hi, I'm currently stuck when trying to install Fedora using your method. According to the ventoy plugin page I need to add selinux=0 in the boot option, but where would I add that? Doing it without this crashes the ISO on boot

    • @theit-unicorn1873
      @theit-unicorn1873  2 месяца назад

      This is usually done at the OS grub menu. Usually you can hit a key (e.g. 'e') to edit the boot string. You would then add selinux=0 in the boot option and then boot Fedora.

    hi, thanks for this, planning to have Ventoy installed on hard disk drive with persistent option. this way - i get to load the OS in RAM each time i load. Need your help with editing the GRUB to show the Ventoy (HDD) options while booting.

    PS - since i have SSD; i figured this way the loads to RAM will be faster than through USB drive each time.

      I haven't tried compartmentalizing ventoy on a disk before. I have embedded a ventoy instance into another ventoy disk before, but never tried making ventoy a portion of a non ventoy disk. I'm assuming it's possible, but the boot loader portion would need testing. I would probably just go with ventoy at the root, then rip what you need into that, if it makes sense to do so.@@lr87457

    i d like to instal TAILS on USB ... i need to securly store ,save some seed phrases from my crypto wallets , so i want to write it to word office or the kali text editor but dont wanna leave any trace in PC ... i also bought a encrypted USB to store the passwords and seed phrases i mentioned alredy... someone sugested to run kali linux on usb on a pc without HDD , dont still make sence to me ... best thing woul be to be offline while writing the prases i wanna save ...what do you sugest ?

    • @theit-unicorn1873
      @theit-unicorn1873  18 дней назад +1

      So you want to be "offline" when you write the phrases to your encrypted USB? You could essentially use any live boot USB that you want to. If you're going to store them on the USB and not the OS that you boot into, it's really up to you as far as what you use, just don't connect to the internet and then you can even format the bootable USB afterwards if you want, not the encrypted USB where your phrases are going, just to be clear. If you are looking for max privacy, get a laptop or pc and pull the hard drives out, then boot from usb to Tails OS. I think that's overkill in your case though, if I'm understanding what you're trying to do. What are your concerns, that might be easier to address.

    • @theit-unicorn1873
      @theit-unicorn1873  3 месяца назад

      You want persistence with Windows? If that's the case, you'll want to look into the full install route via VHD. I have briefly covered this but not in a full video yet. Essentially, you can install WIndows to a VM, shut it down, copy the VHD to Ventoy and boot to it. You will need to have the VHD configuration set up to do this. Let me know if that makes sense. I can cover it in a video for you if needed.
