- You can crochet a whole blanket, change colours every row and not sew in one end, I did it on this one, the last two I just pulled into the border with my hook!
Here is the link to the original blanket I made

Simply stunning! I am blown away by your border. Absolutely stunning!
Brilliant. Love how it looks too.
That is absolutely genius, i love making scrap blankets but sewing in the ends was the part i hated, know i can start making them again using your method, thank you so much for sharing this amazing idea.
Very good tutorial. Thanks. Would just add that I would tie 2 strands of ends together and then trim all ends to 3 cms before starting border
That's a great idea! Thank you for watching Gill Crowe ! Anja xxx 💕🌈
Gill, just a tip...you may wish to leave the ends long, gives more body to the border, as an extra filler, or bulkier padding to the border, if you like that type of thing?
What a great 💡 idea. Love 💕 this project and the border
that is awesome never knew about doing that it looks so gorgeous. Thanks for showing this.
Brilliant!😍
Wirklich wunderschön....liebe es!!!! Will try this with the blanket I'm currently workung in.🤗
Genius!!!
I love the look of this border-it gives a strong finish, like a frame to a painting. This is something I have been wanting for my blankets but didn’t know how to do. I’m going to put a modified version on a little bedside rug I am making right now! 🧡💚🦋🐝🌸
Hello from Ohio. Absolutely beautiful. I have been collecting yarn for a scrap blanket. I will definitely use this border. Thank you for sharing with us. Take care.

That’s is totally stunning blanket and the border woohoo .. xx
It's beautiful and I love it
Yippee!! No ends to sew in sounds perfect, as that's my least fave job!! This will be perfect for the blanket I'm doing that has tons of ends! I don't mind taking longer crocheting the border in that way if it saves sewing in those pesky ends!🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
Thanks for your comment Kerryn and keep watching! Anja x
Thank you so much for this border, I’ve been making my son a 20 colour temperature blanket and not sewing in ends, this will finish it off perfectly!
Beautiful job well done.
I can only hope and pray that when I come to do mine it turns out just as nice 🙏🏻

🌻this is absolutely beautiful!
I have throughly enjoyed watching this beautiful blanket evolve. I’ve watched many videos and looked at many patterns over the years trying too find just the right scrap blanket. This is it! I hope I’ll be able to purchase the yarn soon. This one will be mine.
UPDATE: I was gifted the yarn packet and I’m happily crocheting a long at my pace.
I love the yarn. I love that it a #3 weight. Looking forward too purchasing some skeins in interesting colors.

That is a very pretty border! I can see that it would be quite a bit of work but nice not to weave in ends.
It's not the easy way out, it takes time, but the finished result is wonderful, Anja x
Anya it looks lovely I think I might try doing the double border but without the ends I like the alternate colours on each side . The blanket is beautiful I love making blankets . I am working on a woodland at the moment I have also made you cath kidson and many granny's 👍💖👍

& Ella Rodgers • thanks for the tutorial. Very Pretty pattern.
I really would hate doing all those slip stitches around,This looks like a lot more work than just weaving in but it's a great video for those that want to do it.
Hi Ruth, it is quite a considered project, but the end result is quite stunning, Anja x

New sub 🙋♀️😉... this is brilliant! I have a little man throw afghan, Creative Grandma pattern, I have thrown in the corner with two handful of ends 👀🤷♀️. I am going to dig it out and try this! Thank you for sharing! It's probably been done, this would be Awesome for baby blanket with a stuffed edge, bumper guard!😉 Peace and Love Always, Lorri 💜💙💚💛🧡❤

Sure beats sewing ends. 🙏
So super. Danke😊👍👍👍🧶🧶
What an ingenious idea ! Your work is lovey and your instructions are so specific.
I bet you have a special way of doing an invisible change of color.
Will you share ? Thanks in advance.
yes use your new colour on the last pull through in your old colour. Thank you for watching Ginny Velarde ! Anja xxx 💕🌈
WOW .... Such a beautiful work. This "new"idea for border is simply amazing. Thank You so much for showing us how to do it.
Amazing, even the way you joined by sewing after the very first row of slip stitches is really clever, never seen that done before but definitely the method I will use from now on. Love, love, love the border...again...very clever & perfect timing on this tutorial for me because the blanket I am making has gotten quite big now & I haven’t sewn any ends in yet, I don’t normally mind sewing in ends but as we know there are a lot on these type of blankets. Thank you so much Anja, added this to my “crochet tutorials” playlist, I just love the neatness of it. 💕 Ann
Thank you for your kind comment! Share the video far and wide with whomever you think might be interested!! Thanks! Anja xxx
What an interesting idea! I've never heard of an enclosed border before. That's so neat, and I don't have to sew in ends?? 😁😁❤❤
Ive never seen this border before but I love it! I have a blanket on my hook, always a blanket on my hook😉 like you Anja a blanket is always my "side" project. I will definitely be using this border! Thank you so much 🧶
Thanks Katie for your kind comment! Share the video far and wide with whomever you think might be interested!! Thanks! Anja xxx
Love it,never saw this border before👍😁😁
... just a thought, you could maybe do it with a half treble(British term) as the stitch has a top loop and a front and back loop. You could crochet the sides onto the front and back?? Do you think it would produce a similar thing. Just curious. Half treble is very versatile.
Beautiful blanket! The border is amazing! And everytime I see your opening scene it makes me homesick for the coast. Beautiful blanket and beautiful scenery!👍💜
I filmed that whilst on holiday, so yeah, it makes me want to go back each time too!! xxx
My first color was 10 rows then my colors changed some a whole row and some more rows so it will definitely be colorful.
Wonderful! Thank you for watching Arlene Hermann ! Anja xxx 💕🌈
I am using an 8 (h) hook and it is looking real good so far
The blanket and border are absolutely beautiful! Could you please turn up the sound on your videos a little?
Thanks Sissel, I will try! Share the video far and wide with whomever you think might be interested!! Thanks! Anja xxx
Hi great tutorial ty
Would it be possible to knot the ends when I join a new colour and just crochet over the ends as i go?
I'm guessing not as u r still showing us a way of bordering over them??
Ty 🥰
Yes you can if you wish, but knotting the ends might get in the way when you're starting the border!
Hope this helps, Anja x!
I started your pattern of the scrap blanket I put all my scraps in one big ball. So I find out when I use one color and weave in my ends as I go. I am on my 12 row. I will take a picture of it when I finish it. For the border I will be doing a scalloped border.
That's wonderful. Why not post some pictures in our Facebook group? Thank you for watching Arlene Hermann ! Anja xxx 💕🌈
