    I know someone who had a cheeseburger, fries, and soda every work day lunch ... until he was lucky enough to survive a heart attack. The cardiologist did not recommend a change of diet, but he was fortunate to have learned about a raw, plant-based diet and started following it immediately. He never wavered and embraced a living food lifestyle. Gradually, he included a small portion of cooked grains, such as quinoa and brown rice. Today, he is a testament of how resilient the human body can be and is the vision of good health. His younger sibling, who continues to eat the standard American diet, is not faring well.

      I tried vegan and felt great, but went back to meat. It's been a few years now, but I cut back on meat about 3 weeks ago and barely feel any aches and pain. After 3 days, I was almost joint pain free. Facts... Still working to cut it out completely.

    Going vegan made me realize how much pain and disaster we cause to many animals and ourselves. How drugs actually make us dependent instead of fixing the target issue the drugs just cover it up. Having a new sense of life and how much of an amazing change being vegan has changed not only my life but my families. Losing weight is amazing but the health benefits and overall feeling is the best life you can give yourself! Haven’t needed depression or anxiety meds since becoming vegan. Thank you for talking to us your truly amazing!

    Thank you, Dr Frank Sabatino for the excellent description of the benefits of a Whole Food Plant Based Diet w/o oil, sugar and salt. I am 71 and enjoy exercising and volunteering very much. I meet weekly with a church group of men and am trying slowly to inform them of the benefits of a healthy diet. Kind, loving patient persistence is the answer. It is so obvious that a meat-eating diet abuses animals, our health and the health of the Planet. It is a shame that the movement is progressing at a snail’s pace. Thank-you for the uplifting talk.

      Have you ever thought the reason it is moving in snail's pace is because humans are not meant to eat plants as a main source of nutrients? If food wasn't shipped from all parts of the world and supermarkets/fridges didn't exist, what would you eat, especially during winter when nothing grows? There is not one traditional culture on the planet that eats only plant foods. Not one. Study paleontology and you would understand why humans don't naturally gravitate towards eating plants.

    this goes wayyyyy back to the Bible as there were soldiers who served God who were captured and refused to eat the kings food and asked to be tested in allowing them to eat nothing but plants and drink nothing but water and if in a certain amount of days they were found to be weaker than the other soldiers they would accept eating what the other captured soldiers were eating. When the time was up and they were tested they were found to be far stronger and healthier than the other soldiers.
    BTW - I am an elite Ironman athlete, have won overall in my division and qualified and raced the Ironman World Championship multiple times on a whole food plant based diet, at one point was a raw foodist for 5 years. I FEEL AWESOME!

    The Dr was so lucky to have met that insurance salesman and given the info that changed his life! I went vegetarian 30 years ago and have been vegan for about 14 yrs. I've loved bringing up my family that way too. I felt that we had spared so many animals lives in that time. That was a beautiful thing to have done for humanity I feel. Easy, peaceful and certainly a wonderful feeling to contribute to society. My daughters grew up happy and healthy, I wish all families could know what that is like as you get a peaceful feeling within. Many friends didn't understand but that was ok we just continued with our lifestyle , no big deal. They got used to it. One daughter is a big advocate for animals. My husband still does intense fitness, he won his masters title for boxing last year. I believe we can continue being great sports men and women also. Thank you for the interview

    Thank You so much Vegan Linked for doing these interviews, coming from a large family and being the only one who is plant based, I am at the point where I find family gatherings so stressful because of the way you are looked at, as if you have a third eye, that I come very close to packing it all in and eating that piece of chicken, or bacon, so I tend to avoid these gatherings as much as possible. This includes my wife who is currently doing a 75 day workout plan, that includes very little "Gbombs".
    I have some cheese which has been a very difficult habit to kick, and it keeps others happy, yes I do have incredible guilt afterwards when I think about the dairy industry abuse, but my goal is to break that habit when I turn 70 this Earth Day. I always look forward to these interviews with renowned Medical Md's that hold clout, and have lived what they advocate for so many years, they are so inspiring and instill in me that I Am moving down the right path, and helping to fight the "Good " fight.
    It was a little disheartening to see the look on Dr. Sabatino's face when asked if we'll ever see a Vegan world, and he said basically if the world survives long enough, my sentiments exactly, but we have to be optimistic, and try to change things....for our Grandchildren's sake, and for future generations.

    This is the most knowledgeable plant-based doctor I've ever seen, as his inspiration was the Natural Hygiene Health Movement instead of pharma drugs - which is why I was so surprised when he mentioned B12 and other supplements like D (a steroid hormone). A fellow member of that Movement was Vivian Vetrano, who proved that there was no such thing as a “B12 deficiency” in a vegan diet and campaigned against synthetic supplements.
    The truth is that B12 was created in a Merck drug lab in 1948 from the bacteria in cow manure and the tissue of raw cow’s liver, then marketed as a “vitamin” and sold as a “cure” for pernicious anemia as a replacement for the unpopular liver extract pills.
    What’s called “B12” is just a generic beneficial bacteria that exists naturally in the healthy guts of both humans and animals, and which antibiotics and other drugs destroy. The supplement itself is useless except for showing up in high levels on “tests,” and is toxic and unabsorbable.
    If you’re interested, Jeff, I’m writing a book on the truth about B12 that no one knows or talks about, and it should be out in a few months.

    • @VeganLinked
      @VeganLinked  Год назад +1

      Interesting theories, unfortunately human outcomes don't seem to support what you're saying. Are you suggesting the results of symptom reduction are placebo

    • @Empathy4Animals411
      @Empathy4Animals411 Год назад +1

      @@VeganLinked These aren't my theories, they're from published papers in scientific journals. When something is done out of fear of consequences and believed to be true by the majority, like the dire necessity of taking a B12 supplement, the placebo effect is very powerful. And I can tell you just as many anecdotes where people said that B12 did absolutely nothing to fix what they were told was a deficiency but was actually an underlying medical condition.
      Those who claim it improved some health problem only had a temporary condition that healed on its own from improved diet, healthier microbiome from no longer taking antibiotics or other drugs, etc. The “boost of energy” some claim to feel is either purely psychological or from the alcohol or cyanide effect.
      Many decades-long vegans don’t believe the hype around B12 and have never taken it, like Gary Yourofsky, Clif Grant, Will Tuttle, Dr. Robert Morse, Mimi Kirk, and myself, vegan since 1989. Neither have tribes who have been 100% plant-based for centuries like the Hunza and the Brokpa.
      None of the plant-based doctors who warn vegans they’ll die without B12 supplements have done any research into its history. But it’s a verifiable fact that it was created out of raw cow’s liver and manure by vivisectionists working for a pharmaceutical company, then deliberately marketed to vegans.
      One of the major side effects from taking B12 supplements is skin break-outs, and that’s because the bacteria used comes from filthy sources like sewage sludge or even dairy waste, and/or is genetically engineered in drug labs. I'd really like to find out why so many vegans prefer to believe the huge lie that the plant-based diet is so unnatural and lacking that because they don’t eat meat, dairy or eggs they have to take a nasty synthetic isolate made in a drug lab. Not many even question it, but I find it to be the Achilles’ Heel of veganism that anti-vegans use as ammunition.

      Ive been a lifelong vegetarian, born and raised that way by my parents and I feel much better once I started to take b12 supplements. Less fatigue. @@Empathy4Animals411 The problem with the theories you are presenting is they do not explain people with deficiencies have symptom relief with supplementation. But, that doesn't even matter. Interesting points about fasting. It could also be called intermittent ketosis. Similar results are seen in eating smaller dinners, not snacking late, light exercise in the morning, and having high-quality breakfasts. Larger lunches tend to be okay provided caloric density isn't ridiculous and the quality of the calories is from whole plants. Many people with gastrointestinal issues may see an immediate result by simply shifting to more resistant starches and just not gorging, not eating late, reducing sugars, and drinking more water. If beans cause excessive gas, take a break from beans and then introduce them slowly back into the diet over time.

      I believe Atrial fibrillation can be an allergic reaction to any type of toxin eg certain intravenous "remedies",medications,& can also be an imbalance of the body's tissue salts.causing the heart to go out of balance & rythym. It is very likely since Most blood pressure meds work by regulating minerals & tissue salts & their concentration in the blood.

      @VeganLinked  2 года назад

      Actually I would avoid mono mealing spinach, it's the highest oxalate green so eat a variety of greens. Oxalates aren't a problem at all as long as you're eating a proper variety of beans, greens, grains, fruits, veggies, mushrooms, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices. Teas and coffee are more issues when it comes to tannins. So try to avoid drinking those around meal times and you should be totally fine. You can also add a little bit of vitamin c to your greens or vinegar to increase absorption. Also a little bit of fat from seeds or nuts helps as well. But just doing a variety is I strive for and everything else kind of takes care of itself.

    Health care costs are out of control. Going WFPB vegan can save money, pain and suffering from disease.
    Lower your chance of high blood pressure, heart disease and cancer by going vegan. Hospitals, doctors offices and schools should be places where good nutrition is taught and provided not places that contribute to disease and obesity. It is crazy the hospitals are feeding people the very food that caused the heart disease, high blood pressure or cancer that they are treating. Every person in the hospital should receive some nutrition education before being released. Every doctor visit should be an opportunity to educate patients about how food choices impacts their health outcomes. The fact that doctors do not get nutrition training as part of their training makes no sense. Medicare and Medicaid should require nutrition education as part of patient care. Focus should be on food choices.
