- In Part I of this "kitchen science" experiment, we change the properties of a simple polymer solution (borax and white glue) by adding different ingredients: salt, corn meal, baking powder, and sugar. (Part II looks at the results of this experiment.)
Excellent experiment
Please continue with it's final use . Thanks, GOD BLESS YOU LONG LIFE GOOD HEALTH AND PROSPERITY
I made a project on polymers... We just put a cup of water, tablespoon of borax and a teaspoon of glue... Drop it in a cup and stir... Most famous project in the science fair.... Just before we left to go put up our board I randomly poured some water, borax, and glue in a cup... Made some sorta therapeutic dough
Spidey sense web thingy...
Love it!
Vinyl acetate in the glue is already a polymer, borax just works as binder
you're just brilliant. I'm starting to experiment with chemicals and this was awesome.
I can think about hundred of uses within the special fx media! XD thanks for the class!!
Thanks for all those experiments.
Very interesting!!! Have you tried any craft projects with any of these?
All I want to know is if I can make plastic molds with this? Thanks.
You're so fun and I don't know you seem nice😊 take care
Interesting way to spend Boxing Day.....
I enjoyed it
yeah I was wondering that too, like could you use this to cast some kinda homeade plastic, be cool if you could.
Excellent work, but I am curious about the end results,
Did any of the polymers harden after some drying time or did they all remain slime?
common way to make slime.... try it with the clear blue glue instead. looks much cooler for the kids.. also when you hit the right proportions and you have a full bowl of slime and no remaining liquid in the bowl.
Super cool! I'm currently learning about polymers in chemistry :) Thanks for the vid
Try putting a little vinegar in one of the solutions and a little soda in the other.
what a nice spoon you got!
Did you use glue for the sugar mixture?
that was fun! I'm glad I did not do the dishes though. where's nr 2?
how can you use this??
Is it safe to eat with those utensils again?
Haha the narration is ace
where you buy baking powder?
This is actually a slime tutorial!
Does it have to be borax or can it be any laundry booster
No you can also use liquid starch but it does not work as good
1:28 When she said "Oh my gosh!!" I thought it was a song hahahaha
boric acid? i use it as flux when making patern welded steel
The irony is that Rumford Baking Powder has Corn Starch as an added ingredient.
Hi can you tell me what the white glue was please.
kev
PVA Glue
Is boric acid fine?
Sorry i´m not from the states what is borax?
FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you're experimenting,... don't just mix anything with poly vinyl acetate glue.
You could find out the drying properties of the added material,... by adding some of your material in vinegar,... if it sizzles and gives of vinegar smell it will act as an excellerator.
However don't do this without proper safety equipment and a basic understanding of Chemistry or a teacher, or your parents.
I don't wanna be responsible for your accident.
Note some products will make toxic fumes with acetate(s)
What if I don't have borax? What else can I use?
Detergent, laundry detergent, liquid starch. I dont have borax so I try to use this. This actually works!
+Candy Storm buy some borax
3:39 DAT laugh
When you added the borox solution to the glue solution you made silly putty
how can we change the color.can we?
Nahhh,just put food colouring!
This has been known for a long time as glue stick!!
"ALLLLL, I NEED BORAX!"
"Ugh, no peggy. *Toilet flush*"
meh it was late here too, but seriously you need a part 2 to explain unuseable goop?!
I cant post a link utoobe being what it is, but if you search on google for 'instructables homemade plastic' theres something there thats kinda promising, based on the casein in milk I guess, plus instructables is an awesome site. Ive been looking into Egyptian faience as well. Im always into DIY non toxic casting stuff.
What is this mystery ingredient, WODDRR?!
whats borax please somebody tells me i need this for my school project
Now we know where McDonald's gets their cheese for bigmacs.
She has a lovely voice.
I need to stop posting late night and look for part TWO before I post.
Nothing she made hardened to a useable plastic but I bet with more experimentation It may be possible.
Use borax 4% solution with pva and a filler like sand, shape and allow to dry = plastic

tyying not to be rude but... your awesome!
LOLOL the baking powder made it 'blow up' because it's a carbonate :P
omg are you making gack?
if you squeeze all of the water out you can make silly putty
lol that's my favorite show
Now explain the chemistry behind it.
now mix all of the goo balls together :P
ur funny :)
starch?
Lol cookie monsta
we did this in school lol
was all that nessasary
Is ur last name Shook
ick!
it look like ur holding somethin more than sticky
thats what she said!
now imagine a teacher playing this for 9th graders-
U have had borax in ur house before, it's in most laundry detergent
You like your slime eh.
its like slime
nickleodeon slime is way more of a liquid
That's not Nickelodeon slime because you can eat the nickelodeon slime
Plz hindi me bhisham violence banaye
@AngelForge are you for real? Do you really have to stoop to disgusting language and name calling that would be better coming from a playground? The lady was EXPERIMENTING, she was trying different mixes and the outcomes!! I myself enjoyed watching her. If you don't like what she is doing then simply 'click' away to another tutorial.
Mix all the combinations together then add borax l
Never mind
its called flubber
+Aaliyah williams It does not matter. ydvfguifusuiffdjsfjkdskiwfh8qh857
Ionized salt...
Yikes!
Oh My Gosh!! Really?
It's it's slime not polymer
ههه
jazz
wtf is borax ????!!!
but not to you :)
