    So happy you made this video!!😂 You have made sense of all the parts and how they all work together! THANK YOU!! 🎉

      Thanks for the kind words. Those lights are still working well and we use them every day. The designers of that kit did a great job.

    Update on 11/20/2022 - All the parts have remained in place. Same for the wire restraints. Lights and switches are all good. I'd give this Litever kit a good score. We've enjoyed the better illumination it provides to the countertops.

    REALLY VALUABLE INFORMATION! Without this video, the product was pretty much a bag of parts, ready to be installed wrong! Thank you - the company should pay you!
    Could there be a version of this without the background music, or softer?? It's too loud - I have to work hard to push the music out of my mind and hear the voice. Sorry!

      Sorry for that. It's tough now that the video was published and has comments. I'm on a learning curve with the video production so some rough edges exist. That said, I hope the content remains helpful to some degree.

      @@muniac_llc To be clear, I'm grateful for it - as you probably noticed, the thing comes with no installation instructions! (And the Amazon chat idiot claimed that the little parts flyer is instructions.)

      @@davedebronkart845 Hi - Comments and conversations are good so I appreciate them. They lead to improvements. Jeannie wanted lights for several years and she located the Litever kit. Installation came with the usual challenges but the end results were good. These are used every day for meal preps (X3). I figured a few other souls out there might want to see what we did, benefit from that and tweak things to their own liking. I'm pretty fussy on consumer products like this. But I need to say the kit was reasonably well thought through. It might not play well for high end kitchens but that's not our scene. Looking back on the project, I drilled one small hole not needed. On the left most cabinet we used the dimmer module which has a thumb wheel. I would have installed an on/off switch ahead of that perhaps but didn't think of it. I'd be interested in anyone else that has used this kit and wishes to comment. We ordered a bunch of extra parts to keep in stock. So I have switches, light bars, dimmers, wiring and power supplies. As of 3/5/2023, nothing has fallen apart or failed.

      Also I like Jeannie's attitude :-)

      @@davedebronkart845 We have some fun when working on these projects. I had hoped people wouldn't lose their sense of humor. Come June 2023, we'll hit 50 years. We've done a lot of projects! Thanks for reading it the way it was intended.

    Hi there. Can these lights be hardwired?

    • @muniac_llc
      @muniac_llc  Год назад

      The lighting units themselves can be disassembled. I'm guessing there is a PCB in there that feeds the LEDs. The pigtails that are on either end should be able to be replaced and/or relocated. The lighting units require 12 VDC. So yes I think an alternate wiring is possible. Proceed at your own risk as I haven't taken one apart to inspect further. I might have a few extra units so I could look further if you need more information.

      @@muniac_llc Thanks for the response. I will ask an electrician friend for help but if you could look further that would be great! I bought the kit because the information on amazon said they could be hardwired. But, only one AC cable came in the kit.

      @@deepopat7859 Not sure what your wiring goal is. The plastic end caps can be removed from the aluminum extrusion to access the PCB and solder connections. The OEM feed wires could be replaced to customize it. There are three photo links below showing the internals:

      As for a wire exit, this will need to be via the ends. The lights are powered by a brick power supply which provides 12 VDC. LED units can be daisy chained together as shown in my video. Altering the feed wire(s) will require delicate soldering. My suggestion is use the kit as it was designed. It's pretty well thought through.
