If it feels like a stretch for the IP, it probably is. Avengers, Suicide Squad, Gotham Knights all games that should have been incredible. All disappointments. Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man, the original Arkham Series. That's how ya do it.

I'm not gonna argue fictional power levels but having batman overcome a physical/ biological affliction in the previous narrative only to then succumb to the exact same thing and not overcome it seems at odds to the overall narrative. The Joker taking over at the end of Knight was foreshadowed as an unstoppable calamity yet this game tells us he could have been stopped by some goons. The Suicide squad used fear toxin to defeat him yet that same thing didn't help Scarecrow? The narratives run completely counter to each other.
The squad has had much better members in the past. Bane, Black Adam, Killer croc, Enchantress, killer frost. They should have started off with better members

it is weird to see such a low score, because visually the game looks amazing, and the movement and gameplay look extremely fun. It feels like they can make some small tweaks and raise their score a lot because the fundamentals are there
Honestly the game isn’t bad at all. Story is great and the characters chemistry is almost perfect the gameplay itself is entertaining and diverse. Where I’m at rn I’d give it an easy 7.3.

What irritates me the most is how insane the idea of killing the Justice League could have been. Imagine the five main bosses but with dozens of additional other heroes that have gone bad and the potential behind those fights. You have to search them out and build towards those fights like in the Arkham games. Heroes like Hawkman, Vigilante, Atom Smasher, Vixen, Etrigan, and Zatanna.
These games aren’t meant to have gameplay that is fun, or makes you want to keep playing. It’s just flashy effects, loot explosions, damage numbers, exp trickling in to feed your monkey brain. You’re meant to interact with the cash shop, not the game itself.

If this game was it's own universe people would still be mad how this game disrespected the deaths of the justice league, but wouldn't care as much since it's own thing. But no this game had to be set in ghe Arkham verse. What a waste

You guys gave marvels avengers a 6. But this got a 5? Avengers was definitely a much worst game then this was, only reason it got a lower score then what it should gotten which is a 6 was because yall didn't get the early code.
Different people reviewed both games. One person's 6 can be another person's 5 or lower. It's a dumb argument to try and justify it by blaming the no review codes.

Rocksteady should stay away from some IPs, period. The actual team that created the arkham series left and made a new studio. Those guys should be the ones that handle IPs like that.

@PeanutButterAndJellyBros Hundred Star games or studios, I'm pretty sure, but not entirely. Also, just so you know, Sweet Baby Inc. was involved in some of the games writing (most likely the death scenes and who dies in what way) so the current Rocksteady team and WB don't exclusively share blame

Also the internet somehow turned the founders leaving to the entire studio but its legit like 2 people.

Could've made a batman game with him trying to take down the suicide squad. & with that maybe introduce green arrow, black canary & the flash to the arkhamverse, setting the foundations for the formation of the justice league in later titles.

it is weird to see such a low score, because visually the game looks amazing, and the movement and gameplay look extremely fun. It feels like they can make some small tweaks and raise their score a lot because the fundamentals are there

Honestly the game isn’t bad at all. Story is great and the characters chemistry is almost perfect the gameplay itself is entertaining and diverse. Where I’m at rn I’d give it an easy 7.3.

This is a great game, you just need to understand that it’s not an old great Batman rocksteady game and it was never meant to be one. It looks great, it is smooth, combat is great

What irritates me the most is how insane the idea of killing the Justice League could have been. Imagine the five main bosses but with dozens of additional other heroes that have gone bad and the potential behind those fights. You have to search them out and build towards those fights like in the Arkham games. Heroes like Hawkman, Vigilante, Atom Smasher, Vixen, Etrigan, and Zatanna.

These games aren’t meant to have gameplay that is fun, or makes you want to keep playing. It’s just flashy effects, loot explosions, damage numbers, exp trickling in to feed your monkey brain. You’re meant to interact with the cash shop, not the game itself.

This is the future of games ppl. A basic main game because everything is focused on up selling and microtransactions.
Everyone seems to forget the massive backlash rocksteady faced when Arkham Knight launched. The red flags were planted in 2015. Everyone wants to put on rose tinted glasses and pretend the original Arkham trilogy was flawless. the reality is that rocksteady faced many criticisms with Arkhm Knights launch. Everyone was disappointed how much Batmobile gameplay there was, everyone was disappointed how bad the boss fights were after coming off City and Origins, everyone hated the predictable twist, and the game launched with a $60 season pass that everyone heavily criticized, saying it was the same price as the base game. Rocksteady promised everyone it would be worth the price. And how did this turn? We got a 10 minute red hood dlc, a 10 minute Harley Quinn dlc, a 90 minute batgirl campaign and a 20 minute mister freeze side mission.
Stop trying to make suicide squad happen it's never going to happen.

Gotham Knights was made by WB Games Montreal not Rocksteady and is a far better game than this pile of crap.
