Anubus chose the scorpion king, because he was so amazed to find a Samoan in Egypt xD
Technically, Mathayus is Akkadian in-canon which the real King Scorpion may have also been, there`s a lot of historical and archaelogical debate regarding ethnic origins of rulers in those days especially with how territorial folks in the Bronze and Iron Age were.

Ralph Fiennes was awesome
Especially Hades. He’s actually the most emotionally stable of the Greek gods. He just does his job. He doesn’t chase every skirt in Creation, even though his wife is gone most of the year. He doesn’t get caught up in all the drama up on Olympus. I bet his sister Hestia calls him up every once in a while just to vent about things (“Aphrodite’s sleeping around on poor Hephaestus again...”) and that Hades is very sympathetic.

ANUMBIS IS THE GOD OF DEATH NOT THE DEVIL SERIOUSLY DID THEY EVEN READ ANY EGYPTIAN MYTHOLOGY BEFORE MAKING THIS?!
Wisdom Pen Anubis is not the God of the dead, Osiris is the God of the dead. Anubis is a guide or way to the afterlife.
G Funk Anubis is both, however it depends on what point in the mythology as well as interpretation, as Anubis originally held the position before it was passed to Osiris, or Anubis was simply the god of death with Osiris playing little to no role in the afterlife
OmegaFreelacer318 Osiris plays little to no part in the afterlife? I think we disagree on that
G Funk Like I said, it depends on the translation and interpretation, although I misspoke about Osiris. I should say his role isn't as prominent as that Anubis. Still crucial and important, but not as prominent
OmegaFreelacer318 in a lot of mythologies Anubis is Osiris son. For as long as death has been around, Osiris has been very relevant. Osiris embodies death. Anubis is a way or path to Osiris. Not to mention this things mean something deeper than just characters in a story. So it’s like a puzzle you can’t have one without the other. So like I said maybe we disagree.
Once a hero, now fallen from grace.

I know that these movies get a ton wrong about the Egyptian mythos, but i noticed something. If you listen carefully, the rock says “Anpu!” When they start talking about the deal he makes with Anubis. Anpu, for those who don’t know, is another name for Anubis. Not a lot of people know that, but it’s cool that it’s included here even when so much is wrong

@@akshaykumarjha9136 He is either the son of Osiris and Nepthys (sets Wife) and half brother of Horus the younger in the Osiris myth. Or he is the son of Ra and brother of Set and Horus the elder in old kingdom and predynastic texts.
To those pissing about how Anubis was portrayed in this movie: first of, the term Dark God, doesn't mean evil, Anubis was a god who guides the dead to Afterlife, in the world of shadows and souls. Second, he isn't portrayed as evil here, Scorpion King made a pact with Anubis to spare his life so he can conquer his enemies. Scorpion King was evil, and he offered his soul in exchange of power. It wasn't said Anubis wants to rule the world. He lend his Army to Scorpion King as part of the pact. When Scorpion King conquered his enemy, Anubis forced him to surrender his soul and power back, and took his army back as well making sure it won't cause any more problems to anybody. He just followed what they agreed. In return, Scorpion King will be his servant, meaning Anubis doesn't need to guide him, but instead he will be a servant.
so why Anubis was angry and scream in the end of the movie when Rick choose to destroy the army and not rule it
Og anubis was basically hades
@@Notarobot874 huh? You mean the Anubis Army? Because they literally look mad and scary and screaming all the time. That's basically how they communicate. 😂
They describe Anubis army as an "evil flood" LOL That's partly why people are angry. The implication still stands, even if you understand that dark can mean things other than bad. In the narration itself is aligns Anubis with being evil by saying his army is evil.
Isn't Dark the equivalent of evil tho?
2:11 I just recognized Anubis behind the Scorpion King, taking his soul.
That Anubis fellow sure does have a lot of army. Props to him.
you live enough to see yourself becoming evil or rather die as a hero
That's what happened to the Scorpion King
I can see Set giving this guy an army, but not Anubis. Anubis was impartial and fair, never going out of his way to cause more death. Even if he did, he would have to listen if Osiris told him to stop. But Set was far more chaotic.
Even if we ignore all that, the man was near death already and bound to the scales of Duat, Anubis would receive him faster if he did nothing. Plus, just by proposing such a deal, the Judges of Duat would condemn him.
After watching the Scorpion King before the Mummy, this genuinely made me feel bad for the character.

such a shame Anubis is given a bad reputation just because he's the god of death his job is the most honorable out of the Egyptian Pantheon, he guides those to their afterlife, but yet Death is always associated with evil no matter how calming it is
Fun fact: Anubis is the Greek translation of his real name which is Anpu and his female counterpart’s/Wife’s name is Anput
This is where you realize that Anubis was smarter than Mephistopheles from Ghost Rider . When Anubis made the deal he made sure everything was under control .
