    Very good guide :)
To add something, when in the BIOS at the beginning, at least where older systems are concerned, make sure that the SATA controller is set to AHCI or RAID (if using RAID) because it may be set to IDE and so full SSD speeds can't be experienced if that's the case.
This must be done before installing Windows, as switching SATA modes afterwards will cause issues with the OS, and may not make Windows correctly auto-install the proper drivers either, so an OS reinstall will be required.
For anyone concerned with telemetry things. When Installing, decline all of Microsoft's offers, and switch off literally every privacy setting. You can also go into the Privacy settings after installing, and switch it all off there. Remember that it's something you should re-check after installing big updates, as they could've been re-enabled.
For Pro and greater users, if you want to prevent the possibility of receiving buggy updates, in the advanced update options change the branch readiness from semi-annual channel (targeted) to the non-targeted one. That's where you can also delay updates.
Apps & features is where you uninstall candy crush and the like. Re-check after big updates.
Default Apps is where you set things like the default browser, and media player, etc.
To get quick Start Menu links to folders like My/Computer, Documents, and Downloads. Go to Rationalisation -> Start. File Explorer is what's My/Computer now, you just need to open up File Explorer Options (just search for it in the Start Menu), and change "Open File Explorer to" from Quick access to This PC.
You may also want to change the default name of you PC. Just search for, change workgroup name.

I could have used this a few years ago when I built my PC. I didn't have any experience with SSDs, and when I was using it I didn't notice much of a difference between my SSD and regular hard drive while I was using that PC

Windows 10 still forced an update on me despite modding the update settings and clicking the remind me later button (Continuously for about 6-8 months).. then one day it just flipped to "Windows is updating" Without prompt or warning, and without user interaction, with no way to cancel or delay it, while I was in the middle of hashing out a few hundred lines of PHP for a website project I was working on.. Well it took over 6 hours to update (on a 4790k and 300mbps connection) so I lost an entire work day, I lost a ton of work progress as it killed my editor without saving anything, forced the update, wrecked a bunch of things I had installed.. 3 hours later I was running Linux exclusively.. that was a year and a half ago give or take, never looking back. Windblows can lick it.

@@maximgem7292 how you figure? I didnt want an update so Microsoft is justified in forcing it on me without consent simultaneously erasing my code progress and tying up my production machine for 3 hours in the middle of a work day??

    • @maximgem7292
      @maximgem7292 4 года назад +1

@@JessieCrypto you literally postponed it for months. Windows doesn't have unlimited storage. A lot of drivers update themselves. Windows needs to support updated drivers therefore needing updates itself. After a point without updates, Windows gets bugs and Microsoft doesn't want to deal with the complaints of customers like you who push it off thinking it doesn't change anything. This is why after a certain point it has to force it cause you literally made it force it.

I should mention there are ways to build a bootable USB flash drive with Windows Installer on it from a Linux machine as well, if that's all you have access to. Also, it's possible that URCDKey gets some of their keys from corporations or OEMs in other countries besides China, such as the EU, where selling unused keys is legal. In any case, Microsoft is unlikely to complain much as they'd prefer you to run Windows 10 regardless of where you got the key rather than run Mac or Linux, as long as the keys aren't actually stolen or massively reused or worse yet you're using various techniques using bootleg Key Management Servers - or of course you're a corporation supplying your 50,000 machines with bogus keys. I'll be installing a new Windows 10 in a VirtualBox VM fairly soon and I'll be sure to use the Tech Deal's affiliate link and discount for that, so thanks mucho.

Just finished my build today and got Windows installed. Thanks Tech Deals for the videos! I made a few changes, one was upgrading to an i5-9400 (was on sale) which required me getting my hands on a Gen 8 Celeron CPU to updated the BIOS which was very straightforward, just a hassle to do. I'd say the 2 hardest things to do were 1) by far installing the I/O shield and then motherboard getting it all lined up, and 2) plugging in the power cables. My last computer build involved 50 pin ribbon cables and setting the front panel display to 66 (for 66 MHz!). Just sayin... This was a load of fun to research and learn and build. Thinking about adding more drives and making this a NAS as well as a media server vs something like buying a Synology NAS box vs building another box. I keep going back and forth on which to do.

Hi tech Deal as you may know a lot of us had build or willl build our first pc , your channel among many others had been very helpful in almost every way from choosing part to actually build and update it ! BUT Like evry guide i went trough there's 1 BIG subject that concerns most of us gamers / pc users and is NOT CONVERED PROPERLY on YT / Internet... it is OPTIMIZING Windows 10 ... Yes techdeals i need ,,, we need a complete guide on what to understand and what to do when we want to drop Windows RAM usage in Idle ... After 1 week of reading watching various random stuff i ended droping My Ram Usage on my new PC from 2,1go to 1,7 ... actually at 1,8 with wallpaper engine on start-up.. Plz this is the next big video you need to work on !

Another way to find Windows 10 product key is to go to google and search for TheKey365
I got mine from there its genuine and legal
a lot of new computers and e
laptops have the product key burn in the Bios and when you boot to the
    Bios you'll see it there.

You left out a few steps when installing Windows. Microsoft Account or Offline Account (Local User Account) selection. This gets messy depending on the version you select (home or pro) and if your connected to the internet or not. Example: If your connected to the Internet and you select to install Windows 10 Home there is no option for a Local User Account. However if your not connected to the Internet, Windows 10 Home will automatically set up a Local User Account. With Windows 10 PRO you have the option to pick either. This behavior is new with the May Update (version 1903).

    Thank you, Tech deals
I had bought a refurbished windows 10 pro desktop back in Decenber 2020 .
When my 1 terabyte hdd had become corrupted. But I did not know that was the problem. I had, had a 480Gb Sdd added by a computer repair shop in 2018. I got the refurbished 128sdd desktop and had no problems until it had the cpu cooling fan stop working, causing it to over heat after 15 minutes of use. So I started scavenging parts from it. To bring my custom built in 2015 desktop, back to life. After I put the 128Gb ssd into my custom built. Then it had a 480Gb Ssd tandemed to the 128Gb Ssd. Apparently the computer repair shop had installed the 480Gb Ssd that was working together with the 1terabyte, with windows 7. But with the new 128Gb SSD and 480 SSD using windows10 . the 2 SSds were not working at the same time so I could have, the 128 as my primary Drive (C) and have the 480Gb SSD as my extra storage and back up drive (F).
My question is how did you get your multiple SSDs to work together with Windows10? is it a piece of hardware, I need add? or a software I need buy?
