Arguably the best drivable scale models for the price on the market. Always interesting to see what they come out with.

Beautiful rendition. And, yes, what a point to make about how much they pack in to a car that size and for the price. That's right up there with the Mini-Z 4Runner for detail at such a small scale. Oh, one suggestion: for scale realism, be sure to frost the windows from the inside. We had a '73 when I was a little kid. The heat/defrost in them could not have sucked any more.

Yo! Not sure if you knew, but if you take the SCX24 hex adapter and cut off the ‘nub’ then you can use the 1.0 wheels and tires. Injora just came out with 64mm set of tires (also have 54mm). That’d look pretty rad on that Bug! (I’m assuming that ‘Beetle’ has the same pin/wheel setup as the rest.

To me, this is begging to go through the Baja Bug conversion. Afterall, it's already got portals AND 4WD, time to upgrade the tire/wheel combo and customize the body or print another one...

Nice looking car. Odd choice of name though. Not sure I would want to be associated with that mustached maniac but I'm not the owner of an RC company so what do I know

It's not unlike any other military toy/rc vehicle whether it's a tank, airplane or other vehicle. It's technically a KdF type 60 and not a Volkswagen at all. The 1st of this series by RocHobby was the Kommandeurwagen type 82e. The model in this video still uses the type 82e running gear but is cosmetically made to look more like the type 60. It's a way to offer other models without changing too many bits and tooling which would drive the price up. Victor Ma, the man behind these amazing machines wants to keep them affordable and is focusing on most well known or famous 4x4's throughout history not limited to wartime and certainly not limited to German stuff. If enough units are sold different models and body styles will be seen in the future. It's true the little car has a dark history yet so do the toy/rc tanks and planes that no one seems to complain about. The banana bumper guards, three spoke steering wheel (used on later standards too but styled differently on early cars) and popes nose license/brake light are a quick giveaway that this is an early (pre 49) car but the speedo and passenger dash pod tells us it's a wartime car. The type 60 was meant to be the civilian model (peoples car as Dr. Porsche wanted to name it) but due to the choices made by the mustached madman it never happened and they fell only into high ranking officials hands.

Too bad it is just a very nice scale model that happens to be RC as well. I would be more incline to get one if it has locked differentials.

I had to rewind and pause it when he said that. The manual actually talks about He Who Shall Not Be Named and the formation of VW.

Yeah… I’m going to say that was a copy/paste from Wikipedia or similar and not much thought about that particular passage in the history lesson.
