Anybody who's driven a Volkswagen realizes that that little car has got some pretty impressive legroom. My old boss has a 67 beetle that's all hot rodded out and makes like 200 horsepower. Does wheelies can't help it feel this with a 4S brushless system would be a good scale version of that
FMS has the absolute best packaging too. Obviously the little foam cases, but the artwork on the Max Smasher box was top notch, vintage goodness. They are on fire.
its just a waste of material! No one needs these boxes! 90% will throw them awas, 9% keep them but dont use them, and only 1% of some overcarefull people actually take their car with them in the box!
I see these models being more aimed at collectors and most of the time they don't throw the packaging away as it keeps it's value better, but hey that's just me and I doubt your percentages are actually factual, seems more subjective.
The suspension movement is very scale this is how my 67 van moves when you put your foot down to go forward as a result of having reduction boxes as vw calls them, or portal axles, not usually on early Beetles
It's kinda ironic that the RAF should do a fly by when the Hitler car is out driving on British soil lol Jokes aside great amount of detail in that little package.
The KdF wagen - Kraft durch Freude (Strength through Joy). 'Beetle' sounds a bit more cuddly. I have a mate from school days who bought a knackered Beetle about 1990, when we were 17, which he paid the princely sum of £75 for, and he still owns it to this day, as in Jan 2023. It had a full rebuild back then, as it spent years sat in a quarry being used as a slide by the local kids, who climbed up onto the roof and slid down the back of it, so the roof was caved in, and during it's extraction from the quarry, it rolled into the back of the lorry towing it out which stoved in the bonnet, front panel and both front wings. It survived all that and looks cherry today.
What an immensely desirable product! I may be biased because I love scale classic cars and 1:12 is my favourite scale, but this just oozes quality and good design - and once it's moving, the weird rear suspension movements aren't at all noticeable.
Nice car, I like it. I had a 68 beetle years ago, I loved that thing. Funnily enough VW Beetles were quite capable off roaders (for medium type of stuff) in their standard trim. They were often raced in round Australia Rallys. They were even better when modified for that kind of thing.
the peoples car was very good in snow in real life because of the engine over the rear wheels since it was rwd you should see if its any good when you get some snow. great video
I remember my mom having a bug when I was about 8-10 yrs old, hated that car. In the winter had no heat and was an icebox to ride in. No power steering or power brakes also.
This is a great scale RC. It seems to be implemented well, similar to the real car. Of course, the movement may not be as real as other scale RCs, but it is well made very similar to the real car. This is a great video.👍👍👍
Nice. they also have a TOYOTA FJ45 Pickup that I have been eyeing. I wish they started to sell the larger scales here in US as they do in UK. Would love to pick up a FTX Outback Tracker.
Very nice. Funny I leave the RC hobby alone for a while and BANG new products all the time. This Beetle is very nice, I can see this getting modified with a fast setup etc etc.
My father owned a VW dealer ship and shops. In the 60's and 70's. It would take to long to explain why some possibly had 4 wheel drive. But basically military parts did end up on some "people's cars"
That little thing is beautiful! Top review as always buddy! Im sure Sarah Jane will love driving it especially as she's kept her lower legs! Ha! Ha! 😁👌
Our neighbors had one , me and my buddies got sauced one night and grabbed it and moved it a couple of streets away, next morning the police was looking around for it 🤣🤣🤣
Im a few minute’s into watching and already want to order one and convert to replicate my baja bug back when i had more hair and what is left wasn’t grey hahaha. And to comment before i watch to the end, from what you have seen is it “modifiable”
An uncle of mine had one -- think it must have been a split rear window. It had no fuel gauge; when it started to run out, you pulled over a small lever under the dash somewhere to open a small reserve tank to get enough to find the nearest filling station. I trust this is reproduced in this one, it's incredibly accurate. (!)
wish they went *really* scale built more like a Tamiya Sand Scorcher, rear motor plugging into a trans-axle like a boxer engine does. VW's always did surprisingly well off road if you know how to drive them, a model would too, AWD is such a blasphemy to old VW's lol. so many details on that are SO NICE, no complaints about its looks!
First time commenting on your channel, such a cool little rc that’s worth sitting on a desk as a display car. Cheeky retro filter at the end, Tomley. I chuckled LOL.
Never noticed before ..But( engage rivet counter mode) th front wing sculpting behind the headlights looks a bit over pronounced/odd/pointy at the top end and no idea what the round recess on top of the wing is for.. However a very few early split screens did have a chassis part built from kubelwagen parts and did have the reduction boxes , so may have had some of these odd features ,as holdovers from earlier production practices/tooling.. sorry edit to add, it also appears to have a late model front hood ,rather than a earlier pointed one , the rear engine cover appears to be correct as an early pointed bonnet with popes nose numberlight.
Wish a company made a square back and a fast back vw.. and wish a company made a solid axle gasser dragster car... .. but a bigger scale like 1/10 scale and 1/8 scale car like the ones I mentioned and your cars.. with these details
Would have been nice if they had put a little bit more effort in it to make it more different to the first version. Imagine that with a custom Beetle design, two color paintjob, Fuchs wheels and some tuning parts.

I love that it has 2wd and 4wd. 2wd for scale and 4wd for usability. Great video sir!
😃It's Herbie the Love Bug!😆👍
Pearl white paint, blue and red racing stripes and the iconic number 53. I think Dean Jones and Buddy Hackett would love this.
Very impressive! FMS/RocHobby just keeps pushing the bar on these scale RC's.
That goobleblargon is especially clean.

FMS has really been setting the standard lately!
Scalers will love this. It's a great looking car.
Really cool. 🎥
the peoples car was very good in snow in real life because of the engine over the rear wheels since it was rwd you should see if its any good when you get some snow. great video
Cool car! My dad owned a 69' Beetle for the longest time. I SO wish my mom didn't make him sell it!
I remember my mom having a bug when I was about 8-10 yrs old, hated that car. In the winter had no heat and was an icebox to ride in. No power steering or power brakes also.

Love it! My Mom had a black late 50's beetle. Then a red TR4 with a black top.
My brother is going to flip out!!!!!!
The music was like being on a Sunday drive cute little car
They do look awesome in motion.
Nice. they also have a TOYOTA FJ45 Pickup that I have been eyeing. I wish they started to sell the larger scales here in US as they do in UK. Would love to pick up a FTX Outback Tracker.
I’ve been waiting for this car to drop! 😁 I want to buy one for my Cen F450 to tow!
I think it's the portals making the rear end jump up
I think THE ROCK will like that car.
FMS is on point, their panes are epic too!
The packaging is just as nice as the vehicle
Holy crap, that is so good I half expected ze Fuhrer to make an appearance! Oh wait, he's busy in Davos........
The bug reminds me of Herbie. A brushless would be good in that bug.
I need it just because its an old beetle, paint it white. Add a few stickers and bam a love bug is born
Das ist gut, ja!
Lovely wee thing.
Very nice. Funny I leave the RC hobby alone for a while and BANG new products all the time. This Beetle is very nice, I can see this getting modified with a fast setup etc etc.
FMS/Roc Hobby is king of scale.
Great video
Absolutely gorgeous!👌🥰👍
The old Volkswagen beetles can float in the water the ones today I don't think so

NICE REVIEW
Sunroof, nice. 👍
Adding this one to my list! great video!
Our neighbors had one , me and my buddies got sauced one night and grabbed it and moved it a couple of streets away, next morning the police was looking around for it 🤣🤣🤣
The perfect car to convert into a scaler baja buggy!
Nice video Phil.
Im a few minute’s into watching and already want to order one and convert to replicate my baja bug back when i had more hair and what is left wasn’t grey hahaha. And to comment before i watch to the end, from what you have seen is it “modifiable”
damn.... wish i had the money, ive always been having an eye on them!
The only things which missing now are the schwimmwagen and the kettenkrad 😂
awesome!!!
The VW also had a trailer option. Fifth wheel trailer on the top.
I think that would become a crazy crawler if i had it. Neat little thing.
Very nice!! Great video as always!
So cool! I wish they were 1/10 scale

Beautiful little car, Phil! It really looks amazing! 😃
Great ride and review!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

A very smart model for sure
OH YEAH 🇬🇧✌🏼
Thanks for posting SIR. FMS are KILLING it with there detailed vehicles. Phi have you seen the new scx 24 rear stear? 🇬🇧✌🏼👍🏼
Oh no, this car's going to get cease and desisted like the Mashigan. "The People's Car" They're just asking to get sued.
What a fantastic looking / running model!
It's funny because Volkswagens bugs never came in 4-wheel drive
Very cool, thanks for the review! Would love to see a Herbie car made from this!
I do like a 1/12!
I love all these
First time commenting on your channel, such a cool little rc that’s worth sitting on a desk as a display car.
Cheeky retro filter at the end, Tomley. I chuckled LOL.
Now they need to make a VW van
I got my 40th birthday coming up 25th January trying to decide on a birthday to myself
Wow. Looks great.
Nice! Whats the runtime?
Υou should put a camera also inside the car.It would be great material 👌
LOL, nice driving.
Volkswagen means “ der peoples kar” in German . Name is fitting.. I want one 😊
Another successful scale car
Get another one and make a beach 🏖 buggy with surf 🏄 board on top.. Baja style 🤣🤣🤣🤣
$190 that's not bad
Love it!
now FMS just needs to come out with the Cal look People's Car
You need to take out the passenger seat and wrap up a barbie in carpet and turn Austin Powers into Ted Bundy😂😂😂
Hoña Amigo como estas , estas replicas son muy detalladas , fms se supera dia a dia construyendo estos autos el jimmy es mi preferido ,lastima que esta marca no la venden aca en Panama centro america, saludos y exitos siempre .

I absolutely ❤️ this bug! See what I did there?😂🤪 ❤️bug…
Love it, but the FMS site doesn't have it available anymore :((((
Real beetles suspension did tge same thing, which is why they came out with tge super beetle with McPherson struts , which eliminated that
I love the idea of these cars but I buy crawlers but these are awsome
Beetles didn’t have portals but the busses did
Great Scale piece of kit, now you have 2, will you mod this one, into Team TRC colours and "Supe" it up ??
Just imagine it with a brushless motor
I think speed is not a things for this scale stuff. For that more a Tamiya beetle.
@@Nordlicht05 ay ay ay! Speed is always good! I would buy one with a 6000kv motor hahah
Imagine installing a beetle sound kit in there. Would that be possible?
Please put a doll with a "nice" mustache on the war VW
😍😍😍
Nice 👍
It looks good, is it possible that oil shocks for something that light doesn't work well for the scale driving look?
I kind of agree, at those speeds and what it's made for the friction dampers seem to give a more realistic ride
Hopefully we get a porsche 😄
Cool Vid how much have you paid for taxes etc?

Now we just need to make one of those go as fast as the real thing so that car about 50-60
Notek light on the commander
Make the doors black make the hood black make the trunk black
hey when are they coming out, with a herbie the love bug?
Would have been nice if they had put a little bit more effort in it to make it more different to the first version. Imagine that with a custom Beetle design, two color paintjob, Fuchs wheels and some tuning parts.
