Had that car, same color. 65 Beetle. The real one. Use to go flat tracking out in the motorcycle trails in back of my house. It's really tough. I miss it. U hit the hood of that car with your fist!!! And it will break your hand. Old school tough. Awesome video Steve.
Brings back a lot of memories of that time in my life. I never owned one but I had a lot of friends that did. I have a friend that loves to restore them and has three that he drives on a regular basis today. When he gets through with the restoration, they look like they just rolled of the assembly floor. Ah, those were the days, my friend….
My mom had a 1957 beetle for 17 years. I was born in 59 so I got to know the bug pretty good. The gas pedal had a round wheel at the top that spun so when you push down on it your foot would stay where it is and the pedal would move and next to the gas pedal on the right on the hump, the car had a manual lever that you would flip with your foot for reserve gas. Yeah I miss that car.
I just bought a 6 wheel 4wheel drive RC buggy with suspension, drones need good weather and since our weather here in England has been a bit dull an alternative form of entertainment is needed for, enter . RC monster cars good stuff,. 'like the beetle'.
Good plan! I’m always surprised when I find someone who flies GPS camera drones and does nothing else in the RC hobby. Flying a drone, plane, helicopter is great when the weather is great. When the weather is not great RC cars, trucks, tanks are very enjoyable.
Hey that's a Sweet Neet Beet..! In the early 60's I was a Volkswagen mechanic at a shop called Klinger Wagon where we only worked on Volkswagens and Porches.. Loved them then and still do today.. Maybe some day I'll be able to pick up one of those masterpiece replicas.. Pretty Darn Cool.. Thank You for sharing this with us.. LvYa...
I grew up in that time when vw cars were popular I live 2miles from the vw plant that was in PENNSYLVANIA WESTMORELAND COUNTY THEY DIDN'T BUILD BEETLE'S BUT VW RABBIT VW PICKUP VW GOLF I THINK THAT WAS IT ALWAYS LOVED VW'S AND THAT LOOKS LIKE A GOOD ONE 👍
Hi Steve, since you reviewed the Suzuki Jimny by FMS, I loved it that I bought one online. Still runs though I find that when you change the settings, there isn't a way to switch it back to default factory settings though, I believe this bug has the same remote. Anyway it looks nice detailed and more a collectors item, I have never really seen those real 1957 bugs before, more the latest generations, but if the Jimny FMS is anything to go on, I bet every detail is like the real thing.
As you can see in my profile pic, my Mini 2 is dressed up as a certain famous VW. Ironically, I was eyeballing this RC about a month ago. I'm trying to resist the urge to 'Add to cart'. I already spend too much on drones!!! But it's been a very long time since I had an RC car....and this one's a VW!!! I'd like to say 'Great video, Captain Drone!!!' but I fear that this review is gonna cost me.....
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Guess what Amazon delivered yesterday? 🤣🤣🤣 My only complaint so far is about the 'removable' top...I was super careful trying to remove it (used a guitar pick to loosen) but two of the pins broke (thankfully there are several plus the corner pieces) when removing the top. They were in so tight that I had to use needle nose pliers to remove them (I almost gave up on one it was so stuck). Other than that one little issue....I LOVE IT!!!!
Great looking scale rc car, with great attention to detail (like that motor!); still think it's missing something: a driver! :-) Still think it's kinda weird to see a car driving around without someone behind the steering wheel.
My dream car as a kid was a yellow vw bug. Never got one my my mother did get me one as a matchbox car. This is available in yellow so I might have to get one... If I have the money...

That is brilliant buddy... get it stickered up with 53 to make it Herbie in the old movies 👍👍

I worked of VW's from 1971 until 1985 in VW dealerships as a tech....And owned several....
Great memories I'm sure
Very cool, my mother inlaw had a 1964 she drove every day.
Very cool VW Bug. In my early years I actually own one and drove it around for a couple of years.
Excellent Tutorial Review Video. Love The RC VW Bug. Thank You Steve.
Absolutely beautiful !!!!

Great camera work catching those tires bounce across the tile. Details that sell.
Such a beautifully scaled and well thought out Rc! I ❤️this!
Got my Captain Drone sticker in mail, thank you sooooo much!
The Punisher Blitzer Beetle for the pimped out look instead of the classic look looks the business

You must be a popular guy with anyone who owns a bug and knows you have the mechanical inside knowledge.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Used to be.. I try not to let anyone know that anymore because I'm getting to old to work on them now.. lol.. LvYa...
Wow! What a detailed little car! Very nice and currently just $189 US. Thanks for the video, I may just have to buy one of these!
I love it! 🤩It was well known in the 80s.
The Peoples RC Car! On that Stan it looks like a superimposed 3d model in your video!
Insane set up i like the details
Hi Steve...Nice review....Really got a kick out of seeing the generator belt turning...LOL

Looked on Amazon. They've got a desert camo version and a Kubelwagen! I just may have to shed money.

@@exiledfpv You are correct about the top, it takes effort to get it off the first time. Nice Bug though.

Hey Captain: this VW is missing it’s Semaphores

Rear left wheel is bent, see at 2:00 , otherwise nice model.
I had 1966 Beetle 6 volt electrics.
No bend, that is just how the original VW was :-)
They missed one detail, the spare tire was hooked up to the windshield washer.

BEST CAR EVER OWNED
and DIDNT REALIZE IT
WAS A 1969 VW BUG 🐞
WISH HAD NEVER SOLD IT
Was certainly one of a kind
How do I remove the hubcaps?
Does it have a stick shift in the floor?
too rich for my blood, but I love it.
I wish it had a horn.
Cannot change between high or low. Ch3 does nothing. Help
What is the price point on these ? Their Very Cool !
Sir can you review the mini 2 SE?
Hello mate
Wait no VW horn sound? Unless I missed that.
No horn sound. Would be a nice edition.

It was only available for about a year then replaced by a different model
Slug bug what color........😂

269$ since your review.....
Still showing $169 US on my end.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 since your are canadian i tough you where talking in CAD
This is FAR from the peoples car Sir, only if you had blue eyes and blonde hair……
Did you know Hitler is the one who came up with the name for Volkswagen? Also he played a vital role with the design of the bug
I think that's why they like it so much
