@@RepoDraghon The Japanese "arigato" and "thank you" have slightly different nuances, so it's difficult to compare them.
The "arigato" in this scene can be interpreted as "thank you", "I love you", or "see you later", which is the limit of translation.

That little fanfare that starts playing during "that scene" really brings out such a depth to the scene other than "this is sad". It's a little bit of rejoice in the face of sadness. If tidus were to take up any essence of Yuna, it would be that one in his last moments as he confidently dives off the airship as his dream ends.

  • @incendiesproductions

Obviously the focus on Tidus and Yuna is what gets the waterworks going... but another thing that breaks my heart on rewatches is that quick "Blink and you'll miss it" reaction from Wakka in the background just before Tidus runs off the platform. Dude's lost his brother ALL over again.

@@SlashterpieceGaming If you don't know, there's many cutscenes in the game that are either missable, or change depending on choices. I'll explain two of my most favorite ones to you.
First, remember the guy taking a picture randomly at the Thunder Plains and running away? Most people never see the reason why, because almost nobody backtracks at this point. If you go back to the Farplane in Guadosalam, you see this cutscene: ruclips.net/video/byXJCU6FLT8/видео.html To recap it, Wantz (who took the picture) is Oaka's brother, and they had a sister who was a summoner as fail but she failed her pilgrimage and died. He shows his sister the picture of Yuna because he thinks they look alike.
My number 1 favorite is an choice-based changed. If you remember, Gatta was really pissed about being on guard duty during Operation Mi'hen. Auron tells him to do the tasks he was given. If you actually talk to him as he leaves the tent from here, Tidus can convince him to join the fight instead. Well, this backfires to say the least. When you do this, Luzu actually survives the Operation this time instead if dying as what happens in most playthroughs. But you find Gatta's lifeless body on the beach instead of hearing him scream. And then when you get to Djose temple, you find Luzu who has a mental breakdown over the death of Gatta. Check it out here: ruclips.net/video/gOjxTJ0WZWk/видео.html
      And there's many more!

In the japnease version, Yuna say's "Arigatou" (not arigato) instead of "I love you", which is like the eternal gratitude way to express your best thank you, with love and respect. For some reason, I prefer that version of it. Because it means that Yuna fully understood Tidus sacrifice at this very moment, leaving her own feeling appart to thank him for what he did: knowing he was gonna disappear if he wanted to free her, but he did not complain, went for it and even lied to her for her own sakes. It killed me, because it feels like tidus try to show her that he did it because he loved her l, without saying a single world, by trying to hold her in her arms but just couldn't as he is forced to disappear. That version got me crying even more for that reason. the most emotional ending ever for a video game.

    日本語版は「ありがとう」なんです。
    文化や言語の違いで表現こそ違いますが、ユウナがティーダに伝えたかった気持ちは世界共通だと思います。

I saw a streamer laughing when Yuna dropped flat on the floor while trying to hug Tidus.
For those who don't understand the last part, let me review this for you.
First, when it was time for Tidus to disappear, his hands were glowing, so he tried to hide them behind his back so Yuna couldn't witness him disappearing. That's why he tried to jump off the tower as soon as possible, but Yuna ran towards him to hug him, and that's when the critical moment occurred. Yuna fell on the floor trying to hug him, realizing she couldn't hold him. She said, 'I love you,' and Tidus was so broken that he hugged Yuna in the air. You can see the desperation in those moments, but some people are low on IQ and don't understand why Tidus was in a hurry and couldn't properly say goodbye to his friends.
At the end, Yuna was whistling because when Tidus was alive, he said he would come wherever he was, and whenever she needed him, she should just whistle, and he'd come running back to her.

You should definitely play FFX-2! It does have a few endings and I'll tell you how to activate one of them. I won't go into _much_ detail, but it may be worthwhile. Or I could just be playing mind games with you, that's something you'll have to decide...
    SOME spoilers inbound!
First you'll have to meet with Maechen at Guadosalam in Chapter 3. You'll find him when you meet up with Logos and Ormi in the same area. Make sure you listen to his full story without interrupting and shake his hand! Next you have to get the ''whistling'' scene with Yuna at the end of Chapter 3. When you're alone in the Farplane, move Yuna around and continually press the X button. You'll hear whistling. That means you have activated the event. Next thing you have to do is get an Episode Complete in Luca during Chapter 5. All you have to do there is visit the location where Tidus taught Yuna how to whistle. Next, get an Episode Complete in Besaid.
After getting the 'Chapter 5 Complete' message, Yuna and her crew will walk out of the Farplane. Start tapping X as soon as you see this to trigger a cutscene and then...

I've already started playing FFX-2 🤩 I've had to back track, and it sounds like I have to do it again... Because Maechen, I haven't shaked his hand I think 😵 Only shook his hand at Youth League HQ... I'll have to check when I upload my gameplay for that chapter, if I talked with him or no.

Funny you say that... If you have a weapon with Scan, the info it gives you is actually the aeons asking you to defeat them:
    Valefor: Strike me down...
    Ifrit: Extinguish me...
    Ixion: End it here...
    Shiva: Please... Defeat me...
    Bahamut: Soon... Eternal rest...
    Yojimbo: Take my life...
    SPOILERS
There's quotes for 2 (technically one of them is 3 in one) aeons you haven't gotten. Idk if you know how to get them, but I'll tell you. Their quotes are below this
Anima: Obtain the Destruction Sphere treasure from every temple, from Besaid to Zanarkand, then head to Baaj Temple located south of Besaid (you'll have to search if it's not listed in the airship locations). There, you'll have to be at the fiend Tidus first ran into in Spira before you can go inside. Afterwards, interact with the altars to enter the fayth.
Magus Sisters (Sandy/Cindy/Mindy): You'll need to enter Remiem Temple east of the Calm Lands, which can be reached by chocobo, going from the Macalania Woods entrance. There you'll find Belgemine who Yuna faced a couple times already, and behind her is the fayth. To open it you need a couple items.
Blossom Crown - To get, battle Belgemine's aeons. You'll need to have obtained Anima, as beating it earns you the crown
Blossom Scepter - Go to the Monster Arena east of the Calm Lands Travel Agency and get some capture weapons. Defeat one of each fiend on Mt. Gagazet, from the base to the exit to the Zanarkand Ruins. Once you done so, claim the reward at the Monster Arena!
Once you have both items, enter the fayth to obtain what's probably the strongest aeon(s)!
    Anima: This, I atone...
    Sandy: Stop the suffering...
    Cindy: Don't cry...
    Mindy: Gotta say goodbye...
