    You could always put a damp paper towel around the corn/potato then roll it in aluminium foil, this way it keeps the vegie moist and steams it in a way. It doesnt burn the vegie aswell i found.

    Hey scotty, reckon you could put a gear list and general location for your trips in the description or About section of the channel? Would be really helpful for other hikers here in Sydney like me! Might get me into regular old camping too, looks very appealing to not have to worry about weight and cook up some feasts like you do.

    Good job mate and well done on the fish.
    I remember camping with my dad once when I was a kid and I loved it enough to join the Army. Now, as a dad myself, I take my boys out 3 or 4 times a year at least and they love it too.
    It’s great for them to be able to get out and just be boys. The world can be pretty strict on boys these days. Poor kids don’t even know why they’re spirit is being suppressed. At least out in the bush they can play and climb and get muddy and be loud and make things and practice the basics.
    Keep these fantastic videos coming, when I can’t get out in the bush I watch you and Bammo to get my fix. Might have to get a canoe now!

    Beautiful country Scotty and great video. Here is a canoeing tip for you, put your pack in the front of the canoe and not behind you, it will help keep the nose of the canoe down and more of it in the water. That will make steering and tracking better and it will help with the wind. Best of luck be safe and happy adventuring .

    Get a bait caster rod Scotty, for casting accuracy. Well done champion. Nice fish!

    • @konradchmielewski8904
      @konradchmielewski8904 5 лет назад

      What is a bait caster rod mate. I’m trying to learn to fish as well. I would appreciate any advice.

    • @glenmelville7526
      @glenmelville7526 5 лет назад +1

      A bait caster rod has a pistol style grip (handle). And a barrel style reel that sits on top of the rod instead of under it.
      When you cast you control how much line you are throwing out buy stopping the reel from spinning with your thumb..
      Therefore as you watch your lure flying thru the air you only have to press the spinning reel with your thumb to stop it short of a snag for example. With a little practice you can become extremely accurate at where you want your lure or bait to land.
      Ask your tackle shop people to show you how it’s done, they live for that stuff.

    Fantastic as always Scotty!! Great Bass. You have an amazing ability to treat us viewers to beautiful scenery as well as practical advice in relation to camping/hiking/and now, fishing!!. Well done. Life can be stressful but you are able to put things into perspective. Well done for sharing your chopping board "fail" last episode. Just lets us all know that we should not sweat the small stuff. I find your videos amazing in that I can vicariously live through your adventures. My wife and I have two young boys and look forward to taking them camping soon (your last few words in this video only inspired us to do this sooner). As a Clinical Psychologist, I am always thinking of ways to reduced stress in my client's lives and recommended many (and will continue to do so) to subscribe to your videos. What a way to get you hooked on Bass fishing! Well done mate!!
    You mentioned casting accuracy. Try a baitcaster style reel for better accuracy over short distances. Also, look into weedless rigged soft plastics as you can chuck them around with a bit less worry.
    Keep your rod tip down when working your lure for more control. It also gives you more room to strike up.
    When you get it to the boat keep a rod length of line out and hold your rod tip up high to bring it alongside the canoe. That gives you more line to grab and less chance of snapping your rod tip! A fine mesh net would be ideal but it means more to carry.
    Oh and lastly, keep your finger tips hidden under the belly and hold them out towards the camera for better photos 😄

Open the bail on your reel to get some slack line though (once you've got the fish on board of course ha!) otherwise you'll snap the tip off your rod bending it like that, I cringe whenever I see people do that.
