So enjoying going back in time and watching your older videos. Learning so much about your beautiful country. I love the sounds of the birds and the water. Fun to see how you have progressed with your work and online support. Keep up the great work!
Great video! Really motivating and a good reminder of how manageable adventures like this can be; especially when appropriately prepared. I love the humble mention of your beer can label too! Should be proud as punch on that.
On a personal level I was in heaven watching this vid Scotty. I used to run canoe tours on the upper Colo and it was of the most rewarding times of my life. Don't know if that's where you were but it's identical. God I miss it. The water is crystal clear and the sandstone escarpments staggeringly beautiful.....and the wildlife! This place is only 120 mins drive from the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. It's unbelievable what's in our backyard if you make the effort. Wonderful work Scotty.
bass go mental around thunderstorms, ive got some of my biggest around just before sunset. the savage fat head cranks work a treat aswell. awesome videos mate keep it up.
Great video Scotty. thanks very much. Your break down of gear was most appreciated and I learned heaps from it. Thanks again and I wish you many peaceful times. Atb.
Thanks for taking us along on this adventure, beautiful scenery, you did an excellent job in capturing it, felt like I was there even though I'm in California, thanks for sharing and going through you pack with us.
Hi Scotty Great to see you enjoying the bush again. Bass migrate to brackish water to breed in the winter months and travel back to the upper part of fresh water stream or rivers during late spring early summer. Water temp also has a bearing on bass feeding habits. Bass feed best when the air pressure drops. Surface lures work best when the air pressure drops under 1000.
Discovered your channel 3 nights ago, now hooked. Good to see you enjoy life. Thanks for a couple of good tips on new companies for gear & I am keen to see your swag design. I have been camping for 45 or so years and am getting more and more into walking & camping as a change so will watch everything you post
Love that river. Been there many times on kayaking trips. Longest was 13 days in the wilderness. Glad to see it has some flow back in there; I wanted to do the traverse in January but low flows sent me to the north coast.
Love your work Scotty. Awesome photography/videography. Wollemi and Colo River are great spots. I love the river campspot at the bottom of Bob Turners Track. Great natural spa over the rocks! PS the floaties on Milo are the best hey!
I had a run in with an eastern brown last weekend at my bush camp site out the back of Townsville . I had my snake gators on and felt confident to walk towards and hunt it from camp . I never go bush without them . Always enjoy your vids.
I wouldn't approach a snake, just get a stick and tap the ground. We are not food, they gain nothing from biting us except if they think you are going to hurt them.
Hi Scott I have really enjoyed your videos. You make make feel like i have taken a trip away just from watching. You have also inspired me to get out more and see some of our own Aussie bush down here in Victoria. I have seen comments comparing you to other youtubers with camping channels. However, you are unique, and come across as a true blue, authentic soul. I wish you all the very best of success with your channel, and more generally. Cheers Lofty
Thanks for the good video mate keep it up . Love these bushcraft/camping Channels but you’re the first Aussie one I found . Perth boy myself would love to get into it but never camped outside of a designated Camp site in national parks but watching this just makes me want to try it even more
Thanks mate! No, there sure isn't. I've watched most of your vids. It's a shame you didn't keep it up. Life gets in the way I guess. Thanks for watching buddy.
G'day Scotty, top video mate, awesome place you've got to enjoy. I've watched s few of your videos and enjoyed each one. Keep up the awesome videos and adventures mate. Best regards from WA.
I like your videos mate and you certainly got my attention when you mentioned you illustrated the Young Henry's can. I have been in the print trade for 23 years and we get to see and print a lot of the work of talented people. Well done. It's great to see your work out there in the World.
Trust your instincts... don't look at the clock to design your day, you found a great beach (end of travel). knee deep water is Nestea plunge territory. haha great video Scotty
Just started watching. Getting geared up for our first family walk-in hike instead of next to the car. Looks like there’s more opportunities to camp walking in.
Hi Scott, I really enjoyed that entire video. I grew up in the country (South Western Australia) and spent my childhood and early 20's doing exactly what you are doing now. I live in the city now and just don't get a chance to go bush anymore. Your video showed such an open and serene place to be. Just a pity you couldn't bring in a nice big fish, but hey, that's life. And for every negative, there's always a thousand positives in nature. Cheers bro, Keep it up. Great quality.
Hey Nathan, thanks a lot mate. Glad you enjoyed the vid. Yeah unfortunately no fish this time, but hopefully with persistence it will pay off. Thanks for watching mate.
It's snake season for sure! Seen an Eastern Brown and Red-belly Back snake at my escape property - the Red-belly Black likes to hunt near and even under water. It is venomous, but not usually deadly. Most snakes dislike company, so making noise and vibration nearby will make them stay out of your way or move off. The Colo river always looks great for a swim - can't say I've ever caught any fish there either! Try fishing late in the afternoon, just before sunset. Great pack selection. Great campsite as well, and lucky find with the wood. Lovely transition from fire to night to morning. Beautiful Aussie bush, scenic and peaceful.
Top vid mate, keep up the good work 👍 Good to see other Aussie bush going creators. Looking forward to your next adventure and all the best with your real estate purchase.
One of my favourite spots! If you walk around to the far left side of the beach/island there's a very shallow part of the stream right before it flows over some rocks, nice natural jacuzzi you can chill in.
What a great video. I’ve just stubbed across your video here & really enjoyed it. You are so lucky to be able to camp out in a beautiful location. I’m in the south east of England, so over populated now it’s hard to escape these days. Cheers for bringing me along. Andy, by the way good luck with the house.
Scotty....Another exceptional trip..! Mate, I so look forward to the alert on RUclips to say that you’ve posted. You give real no “BS” insights to camping and bushwalking around Australia. (Sydney). I still seriously think that given your skills and laid back persona, you should take a few “trekkers” with you so we can enjoy your insights and experiences as well and be even greater advocates .....Love the posts...more please..!!!!
Thanks Scotty. I really love your vlogs. Keep up the good work. You will teach the guys in the US and Canada a thing or two. PS. snakes, spiders, Centipede. Just light a fire mate.
Who the hell gave thumbs down to this!? Awesome trip video! So happy we don't have poisonous snakes and spiders here in Canada hahaha. Rather take my chances with the bears and the snow 😂 Cheers Scotty!
I don't know about that, I'm from a similar climate to Scotty (South Africa) we have a snake that hangs from tree branches and if bitten by one, your'e most likely dead within 30 min's ... but they don't just slither into your sleeping bag when your'e asleep, but damn, I'm sure a bear could catch you unaware whilst you are snuggling up and snoozing?!?!?!?
@@BushmanAOD Hahah Oh I don't know, bears are pretty noisy. Also they sleep for half the year here LOL So in the winter we have Nothing to bug us but the cold... and maybe some wolves.
Well my friend you just got a new sub, I’m a Scotsman from western Sydney who camped at a few of the local rivers and miss it very much one of the more interesting ones was the upper Colo but that was over 30 years ago. Enjoy your self
Great Video Scotty, looks like you got another follower. Don't worry to much about the snakes make. If you leave them alone they will leave you alone. Its only the idiots that try to kill them that get bit.
Kayak camping down in the Shoalhaven gorge is the best mate. Plenty of Bass to catch and some great camping areas. Planning on heading out as soon as I get the chance.
Steve McGregor ...... agree, we just did a few days kayak/camping up there last week, (fossickers) we go a few times a year. This time it was crazy, RB Blacks every where and one pissed off EB Snake that bailed us up, worst we have seen them in the last 10 years.
Steve McGregor ..hey Steve, yeah pretty savvy with the old browns, well all snakes in general TBH, I grew up knocking around the bush for the last 50 years, no spring chicken here LOL. I saw two RBB swimming across in front of my kayak up past fossickers, one at Sandy Beach sun basking, one at camp at Picnic Break along with a baby EB and the cranky EB 30 mins from the Dam. Good year for them lol
@@DebOxy Yeah I think we're going to head to Fossikers Flat. I've never been there so pretty excited to check it out. Not so excited about all the snakes about though haha. It sure is the season.
Scotty's Gone Walkabouts.... yes, most of the camps have fire pits or rings...you just have to be aware if there is a total fire ban for NSW but you know that :-) Some of the larger camps actually have drop dunnys, ie Fossickers....there are some smaller camps spots around the fossickers one, I would suggest you snag one, the large ones get frequented by larger groups and school groups and you may have to share lol, we had to once with 14 kids, aaarrrggg lol. You will love the place and won’t be your only visit. Need any more info or camp locations, kayak klms/time msg me.

😂👍So Aussie..tree branch is springy, red belly underneath..yeah mate she'll be right for hammocking here still 😄😂😆love it!
nothing wrong with a red bellied black.
Yes! I've been trying to find a decent Aussie bushcraft / wild camping channel. Awesome work. Love it.
Loving the look of that organiser!
