Hope you guys don't mind a longish one. This was one hell of an adventure! Make sure you check out Mattsy's channel- The Silly Swagman. ruclips.net/channel/UCuy-h7Uy82nv2y6aERtZ-Yg and if you got some enjoyment from this video and would like to support the channel, please check out the Patreon link in the description. 🤙
Next time tie some flotation to all cameras in use and anything else not properly secured.
IScotty and Mattsy combined credit lads from begging to end just perfectly captures one of those trips when a couple good blokes set out on what is just one of those trips. Lugging your gear downhill in heat, the river with varying challenges mishap and i think what is truly unforortune is Mattsy having lost his footage and ability to collaborate his own episode and just hope that like myself have already subscribed to his channel and just as many people get to see it as two mates and a trip I think you will both remember.
The ups n downs bumps tips Scotty catching fish few beverages sense of seedy mornings and a first ever coffee tasting hahaha Bloody legends .
Longer the better! Thanks mate, love your videos and this is just better because it's more of it. Thanks!
Hi Scotty,
Just watched this. Awesome journey.
Could you let us know who the guy is singing about 40 minutes through. He is so haunting. We are in WA and I know Salty Davenport also uses his music for his videos.
He sings It's twenty to 12........
@@philroutley68 It’s Pat Devlin singing.
I really wish you’d wear your helmets. You are 1 slip away from doing yourselves some serious damage there! Great to see you guys together.
Awesome mate! Now come over to tassie for a burn on that thing.
My kids spent half the video shouting "PUT ON YOUR HELMET!" at the screen.
Great video mate.
Laughed hard at you and your first coffee. I couldn't do a trip like that without my twice a day coffee. You'll have to go and try a really good espresso based cup.
I do recommend using your helmets in fast waters. Hitting your head on a rock at 35 km per hour means serious injury. It's a knock out punch from a heavyweight boxer.
Great to watch the improvement of your paddling. Next steps: lean into an obstacle so the river doesn’t flood your boat and tip you (ie present the underside of your boat to the upstream flow); wear your helmet it’s easier than you think to clonk your noggin; avoid standing in rapids (even experienced kayakers have drowned this way)
What a cool trip
Be careful mate. Keep the helmets on and don't stand up in white water. Epic video as usual. Is this part of the Clarence canoe trail? Keen to see the longevity of the pack raft.
Not Clarence trail. Looks like the Colo River (Canoe Creek To Bob Turner track). Classic spot for packrafters.
Thanks, sounds like you know your rivers, when he said the whole think was about 8/9 days it made me wonder. I was thinking those rocks are pretty close for a canoe. (Been planning the Clarence since 2020 and covid kept shutting the borders)
He said Colo at the start
Great video. For those watching from overseas, where are you, what state are you in and what river are you on.
@@johnwebber4358 They're in Australia, state of New South Wales on the Colo River near the Blue Mountains, north west of Sydney.
I am new here and LOVE it Tons.... I crack up laughing because according to you every place you visit is the MOST beautiful place you have ever been!! Even funnier is that you are RIGHT!!
Joy to watch man! Binging your videos
Did this trek back in 97 on a blow-up single mattress, in the middle of summer, we lost the trail & went down the side of the mountain via rope (sketchy). What was meant to be 3 days was 5 days. hitched back to the car, man meat pies & coke never tasted better, wonderful trip tho..
where is this?
@@adrianlikus1 Colo river via Colo Heights area
@@zwarst thanks brother appreciate it it looks amazing
Man meat?
@@jasonnorth2728 lol,, insert "the"
Two legends collaborating together, simply awesome. Great vid. Those packrafts hold up well after a beating.
Yeah great combo
Very entertaining, love watching your videos. ❤❤
1000% lovin this Scotty and Silly Swagman!! Thanks again for all you do to showcase Aus! And for respecting and being advocates of the great outdoors!! I can’t get enough of it and enough of your content!! Keep it coming mate!! Whoooo! 🤙🏿🤙🏿❤️
Another good mission team. Love your work.
Oh I just want to lead the Go Pro search party! Bummer!. Well done tho guys..super trip
Oh my god , im wondering. Oh god i cant say it! I dont want to ask it but jeeze , it certainly looks it . I guess you boys had some epic bonding moments . Dont treat it so roughly and it won't tear as painfully!
Tranquil - as ever 👏👏👏👍
Looks like so much fun!!! But yeah the helmets will save your life.
What a great adventure and memories to look back on.
Nice, I did the trip 1989. Started at Capertee and spent the first two days walking and dragging the rafts over rocks. Once we hit the confluence of the Wollemi river we got plenty of water. Great camp site along the way.
Excellent adventure! But you are spot on about Gin being the drink of old English women, there is an old slang term for Gin here in England 'Mother's Ruin'!
I'm sitting here watching you go down those white water rapids and realised I had the biggest smile on my face. Your videos are great and you are extremely talented. Thank you for the hours and hours of entertainment and enjoyment you bring
It’s such a great video!
I did this trip about 20 years ago, it was the best backpacking experience of my life. Absolutely pristine wilderness, it was easy to believe you were the first people ever to have traversed the landscape. When we did it the river wasn't flowing, it was a series of still ponds so we'd spend half-an-hour paddling, then half-an-hour hauling everything across the rocks to the next pond. There was no flow at all and no rapids like these guys encountered. After 7days we were still short of the end so we walked out via Thomson's Track. We came back the next year to finish the route and there was more water then, more like we see in this video. We had a couple of great fish meals, too, and at least we didn't lose any of our gear.
Hey mate, what river is this? Maybe I've missed something, but Scotty never seems to mention where it is.
@@2jza70 Scotty plays it pretty close to his chest, doesn't he? It's Colo River, north-west of Sydney. We drove to the council camping ground and the ranger very kindly offered to drive us up the mountain to our start point. It was a great trip.
@@novakillbones2140 Thanks mate
Insane trrip boys! What a magical place for us to enjoy 😍
Absolute dreams that place. Great video mate really
Making those decisions on the fly with a trevel buddy is just about the best part of adventuring to me. You both recognize the possibility of more but are content with the beauty you have in front of you now.
I didn't know that Australia has mountains like that. They look very similar to the Appalachian mtns in western NC USA! Awesome
I was at a man’s property at Wheeny Creek , upper Colo reserve and that was quite pretty . Colo river looks amazing and would love to visit it and the rest of Wollemi National Park .
🌅 THANKS FOR THE VIDEO 🌅
One of my favourite videos of all time! And that's saying alot. Did Matt end up finding his phone :O
Mateship at is best I'd say. Great fun watching you two have the best time. Great scenery as always ,thanks Scotty for another great video
Clicked like in the first minute. Great relaxing video. Thanks
Epic boys. Simply epic.
😂 Never thought I’d see the day Scotty would have a cup of coffee in the bush!! Looked like a really fun trip!
Thanks for the content Scotty. The part about living in small boxes really hit home, so thank you!
Loved this - I wouldn't mind seeing Erik off-track in a future trip too. I would enjoy the three of you enjoying a giggle and beer.
That was lovely! Fab wee beaches too. Are there any crocodiles around that area?
Absolutely bloody epic. I’ve not laughed so much in a while. Sorry about the lost camera, maybe someone will find it in a couple hundreds years! Thanks for bringing me along with you blokes. Hopefully see your mate in another adventure, seems a great mate to have! Cheers 🍻 to you both, you legends. -Andy
Keep following your nose Scotty and Mattsy! From your Canadian friend Up North.
You guys are lucky you got this one in before the rain and floods! x
Yeah, imagine it now 😳
Many thanks Matthew.
I am an Australian living at present in the UK.many thanks for your great videos.
Hay mate did atrip up there about 35 years ago we walked in up stream from canoe creek in the dark and rain think the track is still there . We did it in blow up K mart rafts just made do with what we could get those rafts you've got look awesome. We exited at canoe creek. Such an awesome spot still looks exactly the same. So many rivers in NSW for adventures. Great videos would loved to have filmed it back them great memories
Two of Oz’s best you tube channels together. That place looks amazing. Would love to have access to places like that up here in central Qld.
The more I watch of both your channels the more I know when I have got on top of all the hurdles life has thrown my way and I can get some more equipment I am getting out there and sharing this beautiful country of ours as you two boys are doing. Keep them coming guys.
Bloody Epic Aussie Pack Rafting Adventure Movie Boys!! You've outdone yourselves. So good that you both got out there, looked like an absolute ball! The banter was hilarious!!
I feel for you Mattsy, I'm gutted that you lost your GoPro, as the scenery, river, white water and the food was just amazing. Still can't believe you got Scotty to try out a coffee Mattsy! (Your evil plan to turn him to the dark side is working! Bahahaha!!). Thanks for taking us for a mad adventure Guys!
Living for the cooking segments
Yea wow that was an epic Vid thanks to Max as well I was surprised there wasn't more holes in the crafts tuff stuff
Nice one guys 🤙 that’s the short way though… you can actually start the at glen Davis in the capertee river and go right through… it takes 14 days and a little setting up with food caches, I put one in at wollemi creek to get me home to rickety bridge. If it’s flowing a bit like it is then it might only take 11 days.
Well just an idea, good on you guys 👍 if you need anymore information let me know, I’ve grown up in those canyons
Awesome video mate! What a beautiful spot and some great quality footage :)
Gotta ask what hat is that? 😂Looks so comfy
That was an epic trip and great video. Thank You to the both of you. Now for one last word. LANYARDS!! LOL
The mother in me is screaming at the screen ‘put your helmet on’. Great video.
Duuuuude. Helmet for the rock parts... Take it from someone who sees brain injuries multiple times a week.
Very cool vid though.
Be careful.. Great video ❤
Can't believe you've never had a coffee! I can't survive a day without my caffeine fix. Looks like you blokes had a mad trip. Cheers.
its been almost 20 years since i done this with a bunnings blow up raft still the best memory of this river system i have to this day.... was even less water when i done it, right before the drought in 2004/05
Which river is this?
@@ryanegglestone Colo river NSW
Sounds fun ill watch
Thanks for taking me along! Cheers!
Awesome trip Scotty thanks for the entertainment also you guys might want to invest in some lanyards they help with keeping oars and cameras in your possession instead of gifting them to the river.
Excellent work gents. Nice production
21:25-Na man. Gin and tonics are my go to. And I'm only 55. Welcome from Prince George British Columbia Canada! Love your content!!!
Okay, - ....one of the wildest rivers......... beautiful landscape, btw. And, oh man..... these campsites, aweseome!
Great idea w the Tyvek tape wrapped around the paddle shaft, I’m off to do that now 👍🏻
You hit the nail on the head about our silly little city lives when this is out there all the time
Me and the missus did this same trek about a week ago during the big floods on rubber innertubes, water was about 5meters higher than this, we covered 30kms in a few hours though! Good fun 😁😁
Good stuff scotty
Looked like one heck of a fun trip boys, oh and welcome to the coffee club Scotty!
Wow this was a amazing content you should doing this more often with your friend very laughing about you two
Keep up the good content Scottie cheers from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
legend scotty
This was great, good to see a cupla guys hitting up a river and sharing an adventure. Awesome stuff!
Awh that was brilliant. What an epic adventure. Wow. Great rapport between the two of you, lovely to see. Another milestone in the journey! Congrats!
Great footage. Brings back the memories from years ago when me and my University friends did a multi day trip on li-los from six brothers to Canoe creek.
Couldn't get better than this. Two awesome blokes out in the great Australian bush, keep it up scotty and mattsy love the content.
Great video!
Looks like the river in Deliverance, the Chattooga River in South Carolina & Georgia. Been there myself. Beautiful river, excellent rafting. As long as you don't run into any toothless hillbillies with weapons. 😂
Can you give an easy guide to start packrafting/kayaking in Australia as a foreigner? Like best spots, how to get started, rulings etc?
One of my favourite parts of Australia. Hiked and fished along there when I lived in NSW. Great vid Scott, cheers.
Awesome vid mate, just epic!!
What’s the padding like? Do you get a bruised arse from bouncing on rocks?
Love the Jurassic reference!! I’ve got a few older vids where I’ve said the exact same thing… the Aussie bush sure is beautiful.
Your best yet.. a true mates' adventure. I always wear joggers & bike gloves, for rocks & blisters. Do try stretchie cords for cameras etc & maybe a retractable dog lead for your paddle. Cheers, Mark from a very wet Ballina.
When I was a kid the guys used to wet their hat so they could keep cooler. Love love love the video beautiful place
Great Vid thank you. I have spent my life paddling glass boats. I am now in my early 60s and the convenience of these pack rafts is attracting me...have you ever holed one and if so was it easily fixed?
This is an amazing location, anyone know where this is? Great video Scotty, just found you, and I look forward to watching all your other videos, while it rains day after day here in the UK! Thank you for sharing this trip with us..
That was off the hook cool! Those pack rafts look like a lot of fun! Enjoyed every minute,( sorry Mattsy lost his gear) Very nice gentlemen 🤠
That was so good I watched it twice. I cannot believe how much your paddling skill has increased in such a short time. Wow!
I’ve lost 3 GoPros in the surf with good footage on it so I feel his pain I always tie it to something when in the water.Keen for one of those pack rafts
Beautiful kelpie mate. He should be apart of the channel.
only 1 minute in and I had to comment this is the best video i have ever seen already, what a combo. Can't wait for the rest. Anyway enough talk must keep watching.
Huge fan of your channel. I am always excited when a new video drops. Your videos are always epic and make me want to reach for my pack and head out the door. Watching you from Michigan in the US. We have tons of beautiful woods and national forests here, but you are making me want to come check out the Australian bush! Keep up the awesome work.
These are such awesome rafts, and what an awesome trip. Love to see more duo trips with Matt he's hilarious
Blown away by the magical beauty😍 Isnt our planet just amazing!!!💚
Nice mustache and white helmet on your head - you can't be more prettier 🤗. Thanks for sharing this awesome adventure - greetings from Sweden.
Awesome vid, haven’t laughed so much in a long time.you guys are so funny and the banter is good value.
Please do some more trips together.😂👍🏻
As a 38 year old I can confirm that you're not the only under 40 g and t drinker mate. Bloody great video! And Mattsy has scored himself a new subscriber!
This was fanrastic Scotty! so glad you brought you fishing gear.
What a great trip. Thanks for sharing. If you ever get the chance check out Oxley Wild Rivers National Park. Some dark history but also some of the best for wild scenery and animals.
Mustache looks cool Scotty. Coffee is good as long as you don't drink to much. Rafting looked like a lot of fun. Shooting the rapids reminds me of all the canoe trips I have been on in the Boundary Waters of Northern Minnesota.
Nice time guys. 👍👍👍
a gorgeous environment with beautiful vista's. yes you are SO right worrying about stupid things when you can do THIS & be happy - challenging Mother Nature.
Awesome video!! Was wondering what type of water shoes you use?
Watching this masterpiece while on holiday in Europe is an amazing reminder of the beautiful country I call home
What an adventure! Thanks for sharing it with us. Your friend has quite a sense of humor. Had me chuckling. So awful that he lost his GoPro & other things! Nice job of videoing all that great scenery. I've done some rafting over rapids with large boulders like you had. I can appreciate what it takes to get thru them. But so fun & challenging. Great trip to share with your friend! Take care & stay safe.
Your mate could have used the packraft with his tarp for a bigger shelter. Great trip
Well done guys , what an awesome trip. Great too see you 2 doing a collaboration. Can’t wait for more. Picked a pretty epic river to start your pack rafting in a well 👍👍👍.
