I was considering Kratom to try and prolong back surgery, but I did my research, and I have no desire to withdrawal from any substance. I died twice from an opiate and was lucky I wasn't alone and now I am only interested in fighting to stay as healthy as I can to extend my life. You are right on the money LD, educating yourself is crucial. Know your worth, friends

I totally agree with you LD❗️ I discovered Kratom on a message board for symptom relief for late stage/chronic Lyme disease which I have. I became addicted to it and it was a nightmare. I think it affects so many chemicals/receptors in the brain, not just the opiate receptors. It felt like I was withdrawing from opiates, benzos and an SSNRI (like Effexor) ALL AT ONCE. It was horrific.
I know it helps a lot of people and it’s everyone’s personal decision. My advice to those who have struggled with substance abuse disorder is to stay away from it.

Agree LD. It’s an absolutely HORRENDOUS idea to “treat” alcohol addiction with Kratom. I too know many people that got hooked. Also, a channel I listen to called Tales from the Trip has many horror stories of people whose lives were ruined by Kratom and evidently it causes extreme constipation. The creator of the channel got hooked and has since quit!

I took Kratom for about a year in my early twenties. Originally started taking it for stress and anxiety relief - also was just curious about it. It definitely is addictive and I had withdrawal effects when I tried to stop. I eventually got off, but it was tough. Physical withdrawal lasted about a week, but the post acute withdrawal symptoms lasted a couple months. I wouldn’t recommend anyone try it, even if you’re trying to quit drinking.

I have to add, though. This is under supervised setting. People have died, on Iboga. Not few. It is dangerous and needs heart supervision and experts on dosing, I have to add that, to not bring people on stupid avenues. Look the documentary " Dosed" up. Icredible. But, there is no, like button, press - reset. But in a way, it is very much interresting and needs scientific research. I said that. The founder of AA , was clean, because of a LSD experience. So, yes, but dangerous. I have friends , who resetted themselves into an asylum. So......Just a heads up. I care too much and know, how desperate one can get.

Hey, LD. I discovered your channel several months ago and I want to say that I really appreciate all of the work that you put into your videos. You are an excellent orator and I just love your videos. You're so inspiring. I've been meaning to introduce myself & tell my story but I just haven't gotten around to it. Anyway...on the topic of Kratom...a couple of years ago I had decided to quit drinking. The problem was I had just traded one addiction for another. I ended up taking up to 8 grams of Kratom daily for many months...and boy..I have to tell you...I could wake up in the morning with the shakes (from drinking too much the night before)...but that doesn't compare to the absolute hell I had experienced when I had tried to quit Kratom cold turkey. The withdrawals were absolutely brutal. I can quit alcohol cold turkey...but not so with Kratom. It took me weeks to taper down to zero grams a day. Much love to you LD!

Now its like the older I get, the fitter and more clear-minded I become. It took a while, but now when Im in social situations around other people drinking, I have zero urge to drink and barely notice they are drinking.

Drinking kratom powder with water can absolutely make you puke immediately. Ingesting kratom concentrate can land you in the ER. Both happened to me (the puking happened a lot of times). This stuff is not safe to use for many if not most people. I’ll be 9 mo sober tomorrow (on my birthday). This has been the third time I’ve counted 90 days 🤞 No kratom or thc this time.

I've never heard of it, and I'm glad. As far as I'm concerned; any 'substitute' is too good to be true. Just remove the problem you have with booze every day with your will power and strength. It's not an ideal way to live, but it's what we need to do, and it pays off in the end.
But, don't think you're alone: that person who has to resist 'buying that thing today' is no different from you saying 'I won't have a drink today'. We're all equal in our own blessings and cursing's

I learned about kratom from a loved one who was told he should use it to get off H. I tried it for chronic pain issues, thinking it was harmless compared to prescribed meds I had successfully quit but it became another bad habit. Withdrawals from kratom were awful! Will not touch it ever again. The loved one is still using it on a regular basis after years of being off H. It's the lesser of the evils (H vs Kratom), if you have to pick, but highly addictive. Thank you for bringing this up. Great video. You're looking strong, LD🙏 Afterthought...just knowing my personal addiction issues, bet I'd still be a drinker if i didn't quit Kratom.

I would 💯 say definitely that it’s NOT a good substitute. It’s probably the worst. I know this from personal experience. Stay away from it; you will regret it. ✌️
Good topic to discuss LD. It absolutely does have positive uses, but not for people who’ve been reliant on altering their state for sometimes a long time. You are so right. All you will be doing is swapping one for another. It’s very important that people get used to and enjoy, living in a natural, normal state of mind. It’s highly addictive (despite what a lot of people say, it is), and once you start, you will find it very difficult to stop.

Hi LD. As a nurse I know kratom to be addicting and dangerous. So many jumped on the band wagon when kratom first got popular. And so widely available. But like alcohol it is toxic to the liver. Ppl show up in the ER sick from the kratom and yes it’s possible to OD on it and have gall bladder issues. And withdrawal illness. I don’t believe any substance is a good substitute for alcohol. Kratom is popular here in Texas it’s still legal, I’m shocked really . I’m glad you talked about this topic today. I hope folks decide not to try it 🙏🏻. It’s good to see you. We are expecting snow flurries here in West Texas ha ha. How exciting to see snow in the desert!! Take care my friend. Bless you and your family …Mona 🤟💚 No, never tried kratom I’m a chicken !

Did a lot of research on Kratom for chronic pain. Years ago many were told it wasn’t addictive, only to learn later it definitely builds a tolerance and is a nightmare to stop. Usually the vomiting is from taking too much at once. Like any addiction the honeymoon is temporary and eventually it requires more and extremely difficult to cut back or stop. It can cause major constipation. Hopefully people take your advice on avoiding it.

I used to sell kratom at the vape shop. Researched it a bit to chat with customers. It is highly addictive. It is not an opiate only because it operates on different opiate receptors in the brain than classified opiates. In other words, it's not an opiate, but it's an opiate. It is risky to use. The body adapts quickly. Takes a long long time to wean away from.

Unless you are in terrible pain and a clinic will not touch you or you are trying to get off opiates stay away from Kratom. It's unregulated, so you really don't know what you are getting. The concentration of the alkaloids in extracts is really powerful and habit forming. I don't recommend kratom. Don't trade one addiction for another. One of my earlier videos was on kratom.

  • @davidlafond8327

Very informative and insightful video, LD! It confirms my suspicions of Kratom and makes me never want to use it! I wast going to anyway, but definitely not now with all this new information! I don’t want to trade one addiction for the other, and then have to deal with withdrawals from the new substance! Sounds like bad news to me, I’ll pass! Besides, if Kratom can be a cause of pancreatitis, then I have no business using it with everything that I’ve already been through!! Thanks for the detailed video on this topic! 😊❤

    • @giatasha2181
      @giatasha2181 14 часов назад

It can be but I wouldn’t advise. Weed has some long term withdrawals that some deny but I’ve seen first hand numerous times with significant other. Honestly best way seek help from docs first and if you can gonotally clean and deal with the reasons why you got addicted to anything. That is the key it takes the work and that is better than four months of fk up dreams insomnia and mood shift and personality shifts that can come from stopping a weed habit 😢 and well done on getting off the adderall! That’s an amazing achievement - take the wins and rejoice in your own strength

I took Kratom for a couple years for pain which it worked about half as well as Oxys, it is not as bad as people make it out to be. Of course it's addictive basically everything is, hell the whole country is addicted to a sweet white substance that kills many millions of people and nobody does anything about it. I did not have an issue with it but I did not take very much a day. These people who are saying it's extremely addictive are taking way way too much chasing a high that you are not gonna get because it does not get you high. It may give you a weird feeling if you take enough but it is not a high believe me because I couldn't wait for that feeling to stop happening. It works very well for pain or to get off dangerous opioids ( just the natural powder) but no kids Do Not start taking this for fun it is not a nothing burger.

Feel free is not good. However there is good kratom out there. Never buy kratom from a gas station. I use kratom but I buy it from online companies that text third party. I have been using kratom responsibly for a year and a half. I only take one to two grams a day. I find if you try and take more you don't feel higher unlike alcohol if you drink more you feel higher .it's depends on the person. Some can have two drinks and stop and some can't . I have kept my dose at 2 grams maximum and never got physically addicted.

One thing that worked well for my alcohol withdrawal was a substance called Phenibut (used only for HEAVY drinking withdrawals), however, you can no longer purchase this substance (it's shipped from russia)... combo of: B-complex, daily vit, ashwagandha, magnesium (lysinate glycinate) and vit D and water(a lot/good amount) during and after; this works if you're just determined to drink.

Be aware that some things are a trick of the enemy and will only lead down a darker path. My friend was so desperate that they just tried that hoping it would help but no it did not went all way to Mexico which that place is filled with witchcraft. Look to God surrender all to him and trust him and yes you may have to help yourself but God will give you strength there is no peace except through Jesus Christ who gives peace that surprises our own understanding.

I think it's also very bad on the liver but you can research.

Thank you so much for putting this out there. I don't know if you will remember me telling you about my daughter and how thankful I was that you were telling the story of what it's like to suffer with Liver disease, I haven't been keeping up with your videos but I have thought of you many times and I pray that you're feeling better I'm thankful God is using your story to help others. Also you're talking about all the different things that these gas stations sell, I remember my daughter getting what she thought was a little energy drink and she drink it within an hour she was in cardiac arrest in the hospital wrap completely and blanket through her whole body because her body temperature had fell to like 40° and to this day I never know what was in the bottle from the gas station, I showed it to the doctor He looked at the ingredients and couldn't find anything in the ingredients that would have caused this because they don't put all the ingredients of what's really in what people are buying. I hate to say it but only we can use wisdom that God gave us and do what he said do our own research and stay away from all the Band-Aids that they have out there You just can't trust any of it. I pray for everyone to be set free from their addictions and to be healed in their minds and their bodies and their spirit and to be filled with the Holy Spirit that will bring peace to their mind healing to their body freedom to live life walking with Jesus I pray for all in Jesus name Amen and amen. A lot of things can be natural but it doesn't mean that it was made for human consumption.
