    Providing honest, non-pandering reviews is a valuable service, no need to be sorry I reckon! You also emphasize people don't need to take your opinions as gospel, which is true and great.
    I actually kinda like the sound of the XLR, but those buttons sound maddening and it seems silly to have a dual use mic that you can actually only one way.
    (And the fact other reviewers can't even be honest and name what's not working in front of viewers' eyes does strike as sign of pandering, not simply an honest, different opinion.)

      Hey thanks! Yes. I was not impressed with this mic. Like I said in the video, if they just made this mic an XLR dynamic mic, the review would’ve been much different. But alas.
      Thanks for the comment!

    Won this in a giveaway. Gave it to my fiance and it was pretty solid for her voice. I'm fairly picky myself, but she isn't lol. Great review!

    As you started to equivocate at the end of your review to possibly soften the blow, let me help: Should you buy this mike? Answer: Help! Help! Anybody, please help! Take my wallet, any loose change, my checkbook, cancel my credit cards, don't allow me to borrow any money from friends, anything, please, just keep me from purchasing this microphone, either on purpose, when I am drunk or high or by accident!! I hope this helps conclude your review.

    Holy guacamole, that USB/XLR sound difference is bad enough to make me think that your house needs a Faraday cage.

      Hahaha. Oh that’s not interference. That’s just terrible preamps and perhaps subpar A/D conversion. Haha. Awful.

    For around 50 bucks, it sounds very good in theory, and then you put it on USB but if you are using it as a XLR mic I think most people would probably be pretty happy for that about a money, in theory lol. Yeah, doesn't seem very good on USB which is a bummer but I agree with you most USB microphones aren't that good but they have been getting a little better lately, at least some of them

      Yes. The NEOM wasn’t bad. But most USB mics are just awful.
      The XLR mode is decent. Not amazing but passable. Unfortunately, you’re paying for the useless electronics inside. Else this mic would be $20. And that’s a great price for it.
      Thanks for the comment, Danny!

      @@TheRecordist i hear you, so far i find the fifine k688, nt1 5th get and rode pod mic usb sound almost the same on usb as they do on xlr, most mics that have both seem to sound way better on xlr.. i haven't use the nneeooommmm yet but that one looks interesting.

    Wow.........just, wow. I am guessing it is better, in their view, to provide USB capability, no matter how bad, than not? It is a selling point?? Kinda like.....the arm......you didn't have one before, and now you do, so you are a happy Canadian??? You can even use a USB connection.
    It is unfortunate that a company like FeelWorld (with a name like FeelWorld for video products) that has a good reputation would put out such a product to tarnish it. Yeah, in XLR connection it doesn't sound terrible. I just don't know why they went ahead and added demerits by putting the USB connectability on it with it sounding like that.
    Love your review, as always, though.

      Yep. I agree. I told them I’d be happy to review any of their cool field monitors but they weren’t interested in that. There was a lot to our communication that I left out in the video because it didn’t serve a purpose except to slam the company harder. But I’ll say that I was very vocally hesitant to do this review and I should’ve listened to my gut.
      Either way, this doesn’t take away from their other great products. I’d still happily review those any time.
      Thanks so much for the awesome comment, once again!

    I am from indonesia 🇮🇩, I am also disappointed with Feelword PM1, Its touch controls are sometimes insensitive, draining my time to touch it, Looks like feelworld's first microphone failed to compete! 😢

    "Acceptable" in XLR and somehow expensive for what it is. :)

      @TheRecordist  7 месяцев назад

      Hahaha. Agreed. $20 or $30 for just the XLR mic without the added electronics would’ve been preferable.

  • @sugarbait

    Your standards are far too high there are many people that would do fine with this mic even in USB mode. Good video though.

    • @TheRecordist
      @TheRecordist  7 месяцев назад +2

      Perhaps you are correct. And normally I would wholeheartedly agree that it’s a difference of opinion (which I totally respect), but the USB mode was very noisy and terribly thin in comparison to the XLR mode. I think that’s kind of an objective truth.
      However, the XLR mode is totally subjective and if you like it, then you should buy it. It’s a decent mic in that mode.
      Thanks for the comment!
