Best Sound Design Plugin? Krotos Studio (Sound Design, Foley, Sound FX)
Hey! I have some questions i would like you to help me with, please. Just watched your VoosteQ Model N Channel Strip video. What mic did you use to record the acoustic guitar? Also, ive watched your 4400 review and it seemed interesting! But why do people often use 2 mics for that application, like those "pencil-like" ones instead of just one mic? Also, started following you on facebook and instagram! Cheers
Oooh! by the way! Would love to see a Austrian Audio OC818 review of yours!
I dig the charisma an enthusiasm bro shit makes things less boring
Hey thanks so much! Cheers!
you are hilarious buddy you remind me of Robin Williams lol. You can certainly crossover to other topics on youtube. Congrats on 10k! dont be too Against marketing it would probably be worth every penny
Hahaha. Thanks! I get Robin Williams a lot. Haha. As far as expanding what I do here, I’m told by much smarter people than me to “niche down”. So not sure. Thanks for the comment!
This is great for LO-FI sounds! Many thanks
Sure is! You’re very welcome!
Congrats! Many more to come for sure! PS: Looks like the kozrog 747 has competition! Cough UA cough cough! :) Would be nice to ear what you think about it!
Hahaha. Thanks very much! And yes, the UA one is great, but I’m partial to the Kazrog version. And also the UA one is the 737 and not the 747. Slightly different. But you can’t go wrong with either! Cheers!
@@TheRecordist Oh yeah! You made the distinction between the two in the 747 video. I should not go back there anymore so that the seven forthy seveeeen song eventually leaves my head
Wow!!! Huge congrats, dude! You have certainly earned it. And this is still just the beginning of this channel’s potential.
Wow. Thanks, Mark! I really appreciate the wonderful comment! Cheers, my friend!
First, I've gotta say you kept me smiling through the whole video. Second, I bought a pair of these to try along with some other studio monitors. Today I put them against a pair of Neumann KH120's. Well let's just say the Neumann's are going back and the Kali's are staying. You cannot beat the punchy bass, crisp high end and the clear and present midrange.
Woo hoo! You gotta love these monitors! Kali rocks!
If you remove the basket from the sm58, it will sound basically identical to an sm57. Likewise, if you use the optional A2WS foam with an sm57 it will sound very close to an sm58. The optional sm81ws foam pop filter will make the 57 sound close to an sm7.
Somewhat true. But there are a few differences. The headbaskets have a lot more to do with the sound of mic than a lot of people realize. I’ve done these exact things and still I could tell the difference. But close.
@@TheRecordist “basically” and “close” being the operative words
@@APMTenants of course. Understood.
How about the se 4100????
That’s a great question! I’ll be reviewing that mic on my channel in a few weeks! I can tell you this much, though: the 4100 is far better than ANY Bai Fei Li.
Thanks!
You’re the first person on RUclips to pronounce the name right.
Hahaha. Is that right? Well I’m Canadian, so maybe that helps! Cheers!
Thanks for the video it was very helpful. You’re sort of a crazy person but that’s ok. There is not still radio
Yes. I am insane. I ask people if they have any Grey Poupon whilst whispering creepily. 🤓
What this shows is that there is no more secret sauce when it comes to making a good microphone.
Well, I will somewhat disagree with that. Sure, you can do anything with anything these days, but there are mics that are far superior in so many ways. But for basic recording, you’re kind of right.
@@TheRecordist go ahead and spend your money. youre a fool.
Holy smoke intro !!!❤❤❤
Hahaha. Thanks! Cheers! ❤️
that Console 1 “analog flavor” option sounds so ludicrously good that I had to mop a few times under my studio chair. 😂

Thanks so much, Jorge! I am certainly a nerd! Haha. Cheers!
@@TheRecordist I am a birder, trying to learn and practice nature sounds recording. Natural soundscapes seems to be shrinking. So, I couldn’t agree more with your idea of “preservation of time”. I am glad came across your channel. It is very educative, helpful, honest, and amusing! Hope you keep going.

Hey congrats!, Just one more mile... you're almost there... 😜
No really, congrats my dood. You do You.
Hahahaha. Thanks so much!
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy !!! Congratulations!!!! 🎉edit: After watching further and hearing those comments you got maaaaaan that makes me MAD!!! You are extremely funny and the jokes are part of your charm as a ou deliver a lot of techie information. As for the personal jibes well I’ll make a voodoo doll later so they get shocks in their sad dark evil little rooms … Makes me so mad !!!!
Hahaha. Well thank you, Paul! I honestly don’t get many negative comments at all. Maybe 0.5% of all comments are negative. But the occasional one does happen from time to time. I fully expected a lot more insults when I started this thing. But I appreciate your supportive words, man! Hahaha. And I laughed! ❤️
@@TheRecordist what I don’t get though is why on a tech/musical channel anyone would be watching who would insult your physical appearance? If you were some outspoken ass then yes trolls go for you but I didn’t think a channel or a bloke like you would even have an audience member like that. Really upsets me mate and one reason I would never run a channel as I’d lose my temper :-)
@@paulg3388 hahaha. Understood! I was unsure at first. There are so many horrible people online. It’s like it’s cool to be a bad guy these days. But I was pleasantly surprised by how few I get. I tossed a few of the bad comments as photos under my community tab here. Not many at all! Thanks for looking out for me!
Congratulations! Nobody does it better, keep up your good work
Awe shucks! Thanks, Andy!
1:35 Pun aside, Mogami also make the Platinum series, more up-market which I believe starts at 110USD. Yeah, not cheap. What is baffling is that the Platinum cable is a simple balanced cable whereas the Gold is a quad cable. Admittedly the Platinum is significantly beefier although often that property (or properties more precisely) by itself often means little when considered as a factor for audio performance. On the price issues: while 110USD is a considerable amount and I guess many musicians would consider that extreme, for audio hi-fi enthusiasts it is a perfectly acceptable (dare I say, starting?) price. How can that be, one might ask, that the person who creates the music spends less on the same equipment than the person who just listens to that same music? Go figure... but it is an interesting question none-the-less.
Hahaha. I’ve got a lot of expensive cables. Some are noticeably better. Some are not. But why not feel comfortable knowing it’s the best you can get?
@@TheRecordist hmmm the easy answer to this is because one simply has neither enough money nor enough information. The former is needed in order to acquire what cables claim to be the best: some cost as much as one's dream system and that's for a single pair. The latter is needed in order to differentiate between all those cables that equally claim to be the best. In short, if one aims to obtain the best available simply by paying up what is asked, then this is a sure way to spend many sleepless nights. The golden mean is to strive for what is good enough - and there are many available examples of that.
Further to the above I've just read that some consider the double pair cables intrinsically inferior sonically to single pair cables. I guess the reason would be their higher capacitance. They therefore relegate the former to situations where high levels of electrical noise (interference) make signal transmission problematic.
inspiring 10,000 plus music nerds must feel amazing-and you deserve it too-congratulations!
Hahaha. Well thank you!
Was this recording put through the VoostEQ Model N? Hahaha
That’s a great guess! But it was actually the Kazrog Avalon 747sp!
Congratulations, Nate. There is something to be said about 10K subscribers without any real marketing. There are also the thousands who have been watching a number of your videos and just haven't subscribed yet. Maybe after seeing a few more they will. I know I am glad I found your channel. You've got all the content I am looking for, and a couple things I didn't know I needed. Can't wait for 100K!!

Oh that’s fantastic! Thank you so much for subscribing and for your extraordinary words! Gotta love that Atlantis! Cheers!
Once upon a time I used camera audio, but I got to noticing the noise trying to capture bird song & so I researched recorders & found your review of the H1essential & wanting a low cost way in I bought one & learned how to use Audacity & then today I bought a Clippy EM272M, stereo following your review. Thank you so much for introducing me to the delights of audio recording & every congratulation on your 10,000 subscribers. Thank you for all you share!
Wow thanks for sharing your audio story! That was really cool! Do you like your new setup?
I only ordered the Clippy EM272M today, so waiting on delivery. What your videos gave me was a budget friendly path to upgrade from my initial H1essential with quantitative information as to expected performance without the confusing qualitative eye & ear candy that fills so many other video. From your videos I understood that there were better ways to start, better instruments, better connectors, but all came with higher prices & size which didn’t really suit my occasional user interest. In between uses I can forget settings so I find the audio on the H1 essential helpful because it lets me know how it is set, battery life & storage life directly & reassures me I haven’t inadvertently set something wrong or have limited batteries & storage left. I have grown out of the limits of the built in mics, but thanks to your video I knew the upgrade path with the Clippy that would suit my predominantly bird song & natural audio environment interests. Thank you for sharing & helping!
