It should be really easy in this day and age to share the teams meeting on one side of the screen and the PowerPoint presentation in the second half of the screen, but it really isn’t. Am I missing something here?
A number of people have asked if there is a way to show a laser pointer when uploading the presentation to team (first option presented) but I have yet to see an answer to this question. Is this possible?
I will watch it
Great help !!! 🙌🙌
Yes t
Mr. Stratvert, you're the best. You are my "go-to" person when it comes to all things Microsoft. I'm constantly asked to create presentations for various departments and my work, and now that Teams is another option instead of Zoom, our industry is beginning to use it more and more. Your instructions are clear, easy to understand and they are all amazing. Thank you for the continuous support to those of us who need help when it comes to Microsoft's many wonderful office tools.
voice pace is just right to follow pointer, clear understandable speech, love this. I intentionally look for Kevin's videos for all help first
Kevin -- you have single-handedly advanced the average person's knowledge of Microsoft technologies and increased their productivity by leaps and bounds. Now that you are going solo, hope your contributions are well rewarded. You rock!
Since lock down your tutorials have helped so much. Thank you.
This was very helpful! Loved the way you described all the things I was doing wrong!
Fantastic timing. I am preparing some PowerPoint slides to use in a virtual training scenario to train some colleagues in SharePoint online. I have usually sat next to people in the office to train them one to one but with lockdown and working from home have been asked to train them virtually. I am not a trainer but have been using SharePoint in my job as an Intranet Manager for a number of years and will happily share my knowledge. Until lockdown I hadn’t attended virtual meetings let alone any virtual training. But I have been doing some research and preparing a training manual with some hands on exercises along with a couple of presentations. I have done a pre and post course questionnaires in Microsoft forms and am taking it all very seriously as I want us all to have the best outcome and it not just be me presenting.
I have a big presentation in about a week and I was so worried about my PowerPoint slides because I didn’t know how to properly present them. This video helped a lot and I can now just focus on editing my slides. Thanks a million!!! 🙏👍🏼
This was super helpful. I like that you have 2 different options and I was completely unaware that you could put up PPT into Teams for sharing. Thanks so much!
Who knew ! Two quick steps could be so life changing! You're right I hate not being able to see my chat box! Thanks Kevin!
Just started using Teams for my company [Technical Sales]. Presentation by Kevin is very well executed. Voice is assuring and pace just right. Looking forward to using Teams and its many features for customer presentations.
Thank you Kevin - I love your presenting style - it gives me a chance to work through things slowly - which is needed if you are struggling to do things. Great
Thank you so much man. You don't know the life your video saved today. Am not used to teams but your video has made it easier for me to present my project for marking. I appreciate it a lot man..
Kevin, this was the best video on this topic I've seen. I've shared this info with colleagues who were having this problem, and now they can see the screen and the chat at the same time.
A couple of points of caution for people using these methods: sharing the desktop version (the second method) means you can see the Teams meeting chat, but if you type into the Teams window you will have to navigate back to the PPT window afterwards. If you use the web-based PPT, be sure to enable font embedding before you upload into Teams or use fonts that are available with PowerPoint Online.
The main issue with presenting powerpoint in Teams is trying to see your notes as a speaker and participants raising their digital hands for questions.
I'm a Read Aloud-er and I took photos of all the illustrations in the book. My idea was that the kids could see the great artistic details while I read the story. My teacher and I tried hard to accomplish it and now, thanks to you, Kevin, we'll take another run at it.
Awesome options I'll definitely try out next time I'm presenting. My usual go to was just going into Reader mode from View.
Hi Kevin, I have hyperlinked docs in my PowerPoint slides, but when in MS Teams, when I click on the hyperlink/s it shows on my screen, but my audience is unable to see the hyperlinked doc. What do I need to do for my audience to see my hyperlinked docs? Hope you can assist.
Thanks, makes job interviews that require presentations work really well!
Thank you so much! Love your open, approachable presentation style and will definitely be watching more.
I’ve watched several of your videos and they are extremely helpful. Thanks for the insights.
I have a PowerPoint presentation coming up on MS Teams soon so this video will be very useful.
Excellent! Easy to follow and got me up and running! Thank you.
Exactly what I'm after. Cheers, keep up the good content.
Thanks - I think I went from hating MS teams to liking MS teams in nearly 9 minutes. Great presentation. For those on Macs you need to change your security settings and this works really well.
A great video that should be part of any Corp ITs training for companies transitioning to Teams
Invaluable advice, another great video. Thanks so much.
Most of the time, your videos make my path easier. Thank you!.
Very nice Kevin, thank you. It's comprehensive and to the point!

Greetings from Argentina.
Thank you it was a big help, I've been sick and tired with clicking from time to time the ppt and MS teams window, but now I know how to do it. Thanks.
that was so helpful tho! thank you so much!!
Great, I learnt a lot from this. Thanks for sharing.
LOVE THIS...THANKS KEVIN!
Excellent video Kevin. Thank you.

The last one was very helpful. Thank you!
I saw most of your videos, they are amazing. It's always a new thing to learn each day for me. Thank you so much!!
Thank you for the information, Kevin!!!
Thanks Kevin. This is a big help. More power to you!
Nice video, thank you. I usually have two monitors and setup for full screen on one and the navigation view on the other. Share the full screen and use the other to navigate, see notes and the next screen coming up. It's not completely ideal as teams window gets obscured but I think it provides the best experience for the other users. May be the same as sharing the single window like you show. We pretty much exclusively use the app and not teams inside the browser.
Hoping I can get my PPT to run in teams tomorrow. The learning curve is steep, but getting after it. Thanks so much for your in depth explanation
I really appreciate all the videos you are doing Kevin. It's really helping me make better use of the Office products :-)
Thanks a lot, Kevin! The video is very helpful. Blessings
Thanks a lot!
My mom is a teacher
Wonderful tip to share....
Gonna use the second type to share ppt
Thank you Kevin. This is really helpful.

You are awesome. I have been trying to figure this out all day. I ended up using two computers, but your was is way better. Thanks again.
100! Thank you Kevin! Helping me crush it at work!
Very useful tools and tips....thank you Kevin!
Hi Kevin, Thank you so much for all your tutorials. I have a question regarding the first way to present PowerPoint slides that you showed us. I have a Wacom drawing tablet and I use it to explain the content in my classes, basically, it is my whiteboard. I was wondering if I could use your method while I am presenting in my class and even use it when my students are presenting so that I can write on top of the slides, as I usually do and use this as feedback. I really do appreciate your work, thank you so much!
This is very helpful to many people in my office! They do not know it.
I love all your content. Informative and to the point!
TRUE
Thnks Kevin, today i had presentation and everything worked great. Thnks again for the tip
Thanks Kevin... finding all your vids very helpful..
🙂 Great : well done, synthetic, crystal clear explanations and, above all, perfect English 100% understandable for a French like me !
Hi Kevin! Really love your video tutorials and it has been a great help for me to clearly explain to my co-teachers how to use PowerPoint and MS Team more effectively. I was wondering if you could show a tutorial on how to navigate MS PowerPoint thru Ms Teams using a smartphone. Thank you and I really appreciate all your tutorials 😊😊😊
Stay safe
Thank you Kevin. I've used Zoom, now onto teams.
Awesome
Awesome, thank you so much great tutorial
Thanks this was really easy to understand
Hopefully will help me with an upcoming interview
Really like your videos, thank you!
If you use option 1 and download the ppt, does is also download into the teams meeting ie people will be able to grab/load the ppt after the meeting?
Another great video. You rock. I have been having issues with this and have not had time to play with it.
Great tips 😁 Thanks 4 sharing. I have to present to my class on Sunday & we are using MS Teams. This will be my first time using MS Teams. I am a grad student in the MSW program online.
Great explanation Kevin 👌 thank you a lot!
Thank you very much :D You rocks!
Good evening! I have been following many of your videos and must thank you for all you have shared! Very user friendly and easy to follow! I have been practicing step by step all your tips for presenting a ppt...when I am in presenter view, I can utilize the annotation tools and see the next slide. QUESTION: when I click the arrow for next slide, it jumps to full screen and I can no longer see the next slide in my presentation. How do I go to next slide without the new slide going to full screen!! Thank you in advance! :)
Learning a lot from your videos! Thanks.
Wow this is what I exactly needed! thanks a lot!
Nice work. Love the light and easy to follow
Thank you this was helpful. I just found out I will be teaching using TEAMS (rather than ZOOM, which I used in the Spring). One thing I was not clear on is an example of how you see students raising hands / the chat while you are presenting the PPT. I would love to see an example of that.
Yey, a better way to do things, cool tip Kevin, thank you
You started at a good pace, but got faster and faster! I was trying to take notes, would appreciate a pause after each bit of information. But it's good, very helpful, so thank you very much! :-)
Thank you! It was very helpful.
Gracias, you are very clear in your explanation
Thank you sooooo much. I needed this tutorial for work! Tge perfect amount of information!
This is a really useful video, can I ask when sharing in the window format is there a way to also iew the chat at the side rather than use PowerPoint as this way you cant enable sound?
Thank you it's a great help tomorrow is my reporting ang it help to flash ppt properly☺️☺️💞👊
Great.. I needed this.. very helpful.. thks
My boss had presentation nightmare and I wasn't familiar with Presenting in Teams. I am now! Thank you
also I didn't know about directly sharing the ppt file, that looks great in the right situation.
Thank you so much for this video :) I'm a college student and I need to present a PowerPoint presentation in class :)
Thank you! It helped me a lot!
You are amazing. Thanks so much for your videos
Great Videos Kevin!
Hi Kevin, I love your tutorials. I have started using Teams for delivering soft skills interactive workshops. I find it tricky to go between slide decks, just needing a single random slide from one at a time. Is there an efficient way to do this?
Look forward to more awesome content from you. Could you also do a video on the below topics as well?
1. MS Planner + MS To-Do List integration within MS Teams Platform - What can we expect and how will it help individuals to organize self and team tasks at once place.
2. Differences between project progress tracking in MS Planner and MS Lists (It has a sample template for project progress tracker) - Which one is better?
Thank you!
Good work Kevin, I am playing with the option to transcribe into a language. Maybe good to show that as well together with the setup you did here
