How do you create professional PowerPoint slides? It comes down to small things. Most of which we don't notice when we watch presentations we love. We know we like them, but often we don't quite know why. I've broken it down into 5 PowerPoint tips which I'll cover in this video.
🖌️ Key Design Tips:
▪️ Visualize Your Data: Simplify complex data with clear, concise charts. This keeps your audience focused on your message rather than getting lost in numbers.
▪️ Use White Space Effectively: Avoid clutter. White space, which can be any solid color or blurred background, helps direct attention to your key points.
▪️ Leverage Design Ideas: Utilize PowerPoint's Design Ideas feature for quick, AI-powered slide improvements, especially if you're short on time or design skills.
▪️ Opt for Scalable Vector Graphics (SVGs): Use SVGs instead of raster images like JPGs or PNGs to avoid pixelation when resizing.
▪️ Apply the Rule of Thirds: Borrow this photography technique to enhance visual appeal. Position key elements at the intersection points of a divided grid for a balanced look.

1. Visualization, Don't let the audience focus on reading
2. White space, don't clutter, make spacious, less is more
3. Instant design ideas of office 365
4. Scalable vector graphics: careful resizing, use SVG over jpg to avoid pixelation
5. Apply rule of third: (my personal favourite)3 vertical and horizontal lines intersect and make the power points, elements should be placed on these points
who else is seeing this for a school project? lol

I agree, these video tips alone helped me finish editing a large project I was having some issues with. I love the way she makes it so easy to understand. I'm somewhat new to PowerPoint and the whole Microsoft suite premium so these tips have been incredibly helpful not just in ppt but throughout all the programs! Thank you Leila for sharing your wisdom to help us little people excel in the field :-)
This is the first time I learned about SVG. Thank you, Leila. ❤️
You're so welcome!
Whole my life i have been designing slides on my own and then i saw design ideas today 🥺

Thank you so much!
Hi Leila, I like watching your tutorials on Word, Excel & PowerPoint as it is easy to follow, clear and you make them interesting. I hope you will also do tutorials on Meeting of Minutes, Agendas etc.
I'm quite a lot designing slides and generally people like my slidedeck; however this video brought me some additional great tips. Thank you!
Wow!!! This is Awesome!! Thank you.
Leila, After watching the section on the rule of thirds, I created the lines and powerpoints on a slide, copied, and pasted as a picture. Now, I can use the picture as a background to quickly toggle on, then off my background for design work.
The .svg option and the Rule of Thirds is my biggest takeaway from this video! Thanks Leila :)
Agreed!!
Love the simplicity of your video.. Your channel is my go-to for Microsoft Office tutorials. The Design Ideas feature is the most common element I use in PowerPoint. I also use the Variants section to change the colors and create section breaks between slides to use different themes/variants within the same presentation. Rule of Thirds will take it to the next level.
Awesome, thank you Jennifer!
Coming across your channel is a blessing, though I've only spent less than an hour. So much value here.
Channel like yours assures me that open quality education is an inevitable reality. Kudos to you Leila.

The rule of thirds slide and explanation was great! Thank you for sharing these tips.
Glad it was helpful!
Great training. I have been using 1 through 4, and learned 5, I did not about the rule. Looking forward to use it next time. Design ideas and MS PPT icons have been my "best secrets" for my slides. I got a lot of compliments and people think there is a lot of work on them when is actually Office working for you. Is because they look so nice and appealing to the eyes. I need to learn more about "less is more" probably choose 1 or 2 words vs a short phrase to show a key point. thank you. I always learn something valuable in your channel.
Thanks for your feedback!
Very informative and useful Leila....Thanks a lot...

Happy to hear that!
As an Air Force officer, I am incredibly limited in applying creative elements to my slides/presentations. However, you provide subtle ideas which allow me to shine even within the constraints of the Air Force template.
Glad you found it useful.
If you really want to shine figure out how to remove those constraints instead of working around them.
Thank you for your service sir.
Great tips Leila. Thank you
I knew all these tips and follow them while making my slides. But I still watch Leila's videos because I like her communication skills and clear & crisp presentation, in not only this but all her videos.

I have only recently found your channel. It has already helped me improve my presentations. Over the last year or so I have had to present virtually on teleconferences and video calls. Do you have any tips on construction of presentations where the audience has their own copy when presenting on audio meetings for example, or when the video links are slow?
