PowerPoint recently got a lot of updates and new features. For example, did you know that you now can integrate live camera feeds directly into your slides? It's called Cameo and it's super easy to do. You can automatically create PowerPoint slides from a Word Document or create slides from an Agenda slide. You can also let PowerPoint automatically align and place objects on a slide. You can rehearse a presentation and get feedback from the PowerPoint presenter coach. Leila, Is there a way to insert Quick Parts (Document Properties) into a PowerPoint Master slide? Maybe an add-in? The lack of this native functionality has to be an oversight by Microsoft.?
I love the idea of using a morphing transition with the cameo feature. Lots of fun to be had with that.

For those who can't find the lock/unlock feature directly from the context menu while right-clicking, I was able to find the option while customizing the Quick Access Toolbar. Adding it to the menu or the Toolbar should do the trick.

Thanks Leila, this is a great round up of some very useful new functionality. I do hope Microsoft get to some parity between the desktop and web version soon as I believe the desktop version should have everything the web version does.

While PPoint is not immediately applicable, I expect it will be later this year. "Presenter Coach" was a surprise to me ... and will be very useful (IMHO ... 'Pace and Pitch'??? ... Leila is the Gold Standard).

I might be the last one to the party but typing powerpoint.new and rolling into PP online is A++ shortcut. For others as surprised as me: excel.new, word.new, sway.new, all will get you to a new doc/spreadsheet/sway thing. Super cool for keeping hands on the keyboard. Thanks, Leila.

I hope the online features will be added to the desktop version soon, especially to use the automatic slides with personal customized slides templates.
And it could be very nice if the lock object feature would work from SlideMaster as well. So far, when you lock objects in SlideMaster view mode, and then add a new slide to your presentation in normal view mode, the objects are not locked anymore. Too bad. It would be very useful to lock some objects like titles once for all.

Awesome video. We are just about to switch to office 365 in work and tips and tricks like this are most welcome. Definitely going to have to try some of these. I’ve done screen recordings before in PowerPoint with me explaining things from SharePoint Online to train colleagues virtually during lockdown but some of these might be good for sections where I need to explain our processes as I work in a bilingual organisation. Definitely want to try the Word to PowerPoint option too. I normally just build my presentations straight into PowerPoint but this would give me another way to prepare stuff. It looks really cool!
