Fujifilm X-Pro2
Amazon - allam.co/x-pro2
Fujifilm Australia have noticed my interest in my potential transition from Canon to Fujifilm, so they've lent me a Fujifilm X-Pro2 and a few lenses, to test out and see what I think!
Along with the X-Pro2, they sent me the Fujinon 35mm F2, 10-24mm F4 and 50-140mm F2.8. So far, I've only really tested the 35mm F2 whilst out and about in Melbourne Australia, but will be taking it to Queensland over Christmas for further testing!

Forget not to tell us your honest thoughts about the iso dial. Appreciate your work man.
dude Joe your channel is blowing up!! i love it
Have fun with this techy stuff ! Stoked to see a nice review later :-) Something different from the normal dslr big camera stuff you see.
Yeah man, it's such a different camera to use, but very enjoyable that's for sure!
You should do more videos like this they're awesome!
Cheers! Glad you enjoyed this one. What did you prefer about it? The laid back style or the photo slideshow at the end?
I leaved Canon for Fuji and i've got two XT-2 with 10-24 and 50-140 and i love !
I do not regret my change after 6 years at Canon. After a very small adaptation week, I rediscovered the photo thanks to the Fuji ergonomics; The sharpness is incredible, auto focus is super fast and the dynamic sensor is superior to my old 6D.
That's awesome to hear man! I'm glad you've rediscovered a passion more than anything! I'm still very much intrigued by the X-T2; I've yet to use one in any real world scenarios
At the base I am a landscape photographer. But as a professional photographer also, I am taken to doing reports or shooting for clients and I have not been "upset" by the change. As I said, the auto focus is fast, the ISO rise is good (6400 max for me), the sharpness also and the color rendering of Fuji I like more than that of Canon; There is also the weight gain that is considerable. To get an idea, I had: 6D + 7D and 16-35 f / 4 + 24-70 f / 2.8 + 70-200 f / 4. Afterwards, each one makes his own idea by testing, I dared to make the bet and I am not disappointed. Sorry for my English, this is Google Translate
Got the X-T2 a few months ago. Same story as with Gaël. Never loved taking photos as much as I do right now.
These are all the reasons I'm considering switching to Fujifilm. I think I'm pretty set on making it my next goal for my savings. No worries for your English, I had no idea it was Google Translate!
Dear Joe, I was a Nikon Ambassador and involved in humanitarian and combat photography.
After 10 years I switched to Fuji X-T2 and I will never go back :) Have fun :)
That's great to hear! That camera seems to be turning quite a few heads right now and rightly so!
you will see the best thing for traveling is the reduction of weight. Using the Nikon D4 with 70-200 and some wide-angle lenses was breaking my bank and my neck.
I use the X-T2 with the battery grip cause I need the frame rate and also higher frames for the EVF but man, it's so light and still solid like a tank.
Can't wait for the X100F next year. hope it's weather sealed.
Nice. My first ever camera was an XPRO1. Brings back memories 😊
Nice, man! You shoot Canon now right? I'm all up in the air with which systems I'm using.
HEy Joe. Very nice images, sir! A tip on the "handling" of the X-Pro 2, especially with your XF50-140...get the Fujifilm Grip "MHG-XPro2"...It will vastly improve the ergonomic handling of the body, and as it has a tripod socket plus a cutout for the battery compartment, I leave it on permanently...no need to remove it! It also has a built-in Arca-Swiss dovetail plate, which allows seamless mounting on any Arca-Swiss compatible tripod head! Enjoy it, and those awesome Fujinon XF lenses!
Nice video Joe. I was a Nikon DSLR user and although I have not sold my D90 and D7100 and still use them, I now use the X-Pro2 as my 'Go-to' camera. I use the 35mm F2 and 18-135mm lenses. I look forward to your follow up videos. Oh, by the way, being brought up MANY years ago on a large number of film cameras I don't find the ISO selector tricky but I know it is a very personal thing. Merry Christmas.
My favs were all of the ones of the graffiti wall. Enjoy the Fuijifilm equipment :) I will be watching for your creative shots
I had used one of the black and white film simulation, but when i open it in lightroom, it wasn't balck and white, did that happened to you?
In the develop window, scroll to the bottom and choose the correct picture profile. It's most probably defaulted to the Adobe standard profile on import. Next time you import, you can set the profile and save the import settings as a default.
I'm really thinking about getting an X-System setup when I have some cash. I love my X100S. The quality is excellent and it's already an older camera.
Nice one! I've shot a few times with an X100T and thoroughly enjoyed it!
Just recently moved from Nikon D700 to the XT2 and love it. I reaaaallly want to get my hands on the 50-140 2.8.. So if you happen to misspell the return address, and put mine in instead, then that would be great :D
Haha! I've not properly used it yet, but will try it out in the coming weeks 👍
Look forward to your thoughts. Have really enjoyed your style, and videos. Hope you're enjoying Australia :)
Great video Joe, Love the shots and editing. Love some of the photos, would love to use a specific one as background (one at 7:15), could we get the high res file anywhere?
love your work man....
I recently purchased the Xpro2 and I'm loving it!!! Trade your canon with a Fuji!
Awesome! I would probably still keep my Canon for times when I'm doing action shoots, but I'm pretty set on saving up for a Fuji system for all other occasions!
My favorite shot was the shoes on the basketball hoop. Great shooting, Joe. So are you gonna switch?
Cheers, that's probably my favourite too! Though it is actually a street light not a hoop haha
I'm gonna keep testing and see how it goes, but I'm pretty convinced with how the Fujifilm systems are working.
Are you still gonna get the XT2 or would you get the X-Pro2?
I think I'm still swaying towards the X-T2, purely for the video features it brings. Though I am really enjoying the X-Pro2!
Sounds like you need to hit up Fuji Australia so you can check them both out.
Since you asked my favourite shot was the dark graffiti alley with the light peaking out of the darkness.
Thanks! I'll be posting them on the blog soon - I'll probably wait til I've released a couple more videos about it, then group them all together in the one post.
Hey Joe, what are your thoughts on film photography? Are you all digital or do you sometimes take a film camera for shoots? Personally I like film photographs a lot, they have quite a charm to them and I´m a sucker for vintage stuff haha btw the Fuji X-pro2 looks really great :D
I've done bits of film photography a few years ago, but I very rarely shoot with film. I do enjoy it and I too like the aesthetics of the prints, but it's just not something I'm personally working with really.
Fair enough.
I've been a Fuji guy for a few years now since the X-Pro1. I'm doing all my filming on my X-T2. If you have any questions or want to geek out over cameras give me a shout!
nice photo shot :)
Is Fuji Film making Joe a Fuji X photographer?? Sure hope so.
TheGh02t 1 year ago and here we go, he is now on the fuji boat
Why do you hope so? He's a barely average photographer at best and just talks the good talk, nothing else.
Fav foto: stadium at 7.44 mark.
miss your travel videos
More will be coming very soon!
Joe Allam can't wait ♥
Sorry mate but the hats have to go. Otherwise love your content.
Fuji guys! If you want to send me any Fuji camera for free, I wouldn't get mad at you. I promise!
Dog gone it, just open the package.
…I switched off the moment I saw the cap…! sorry!
