these guys are incredible.. love their sound -tone here. very talented underrated band.
Underrated band.
Trains is such a great song.
Trains will always be my favorite song from the group named The Vapors.
I cannot seem the album or single that it is on. Was it ever officially released?
New Clear Days is the album Trains is on
These guys were my favorite band in '79
Just brilliant and so under rated. Love the bass work on these brilliant songs...
This is perfect.
Liverpool 18th November cannot wait !!! Here comes the judge prisoners waiting for the weekend NAT all of them.
Takes me back. Great band.
they were managad by paul weller's dad. That's right. these guys are the closest thing to The Jam .
this is literally the most under-rated unknown history in all of 80s pop-mod
David Fenton was a lawyer- or law student- they played for a few years- but for fear of falling behind in his legal skills- they cut it short. Classic Paul Weller/David Fenton spirit= they knew just what they were doing.
I never knew that about Weller's dad. Explains the Jam influence that's so obvious from this band. You are right, HORRIDLY ignored band! As great as "Japanese" was as a single, it's probably the weakest thing they did.
Co managed with foxton
@@dee_seejay it's all opinion, all in the ears of the listener.
So freaking cool
john peel was my teen years in the very late 70', 80's etc but never knew the Vapors had done a session (16 yr fave) so thanks for this - added to the 2 albums of stuff I have and believe they have recently reformed
Incredible
Wow turning Japanese sounds better. Its not commercialized like how the radio version is.
Love the sound of a Rickenbacker 4001 bass fitted with Rotosound strings..
the Vapors were the best band i ever discovered, powerpop at its best, this is an amazing session.
vapors on tour november dont miss it .cant wait could have been as big as u2 awesome
Stefan Hinchliffe - while being as big as U2 is/was? i prefer the bands i love to remain slightly obscure... who wants ectomorphic frat boys standing literally on my own tiny feet, and in front of me, and then talking thru the whole show?
Stefan Hinchliffe and how was/were their gig(s)?
Thanks for posting You.
A great band.
Really tight musicianship, indivisible from the recorded studio version on the album.
Thinking man's punk 🎶
De lo mejor del R & R!!!
Turning a japonese, One of the first tracks punk I Heard.
I hear the Jam for sure, but they seem more American to me. Almost like Suburban Lawns or a low fi version of The Cars.
If they were managed by the wellers they must still be owed a lot of money
i have NEVER heard this?! my heart is a flutter... now i have to travel back to London (for what ? 7th time? 9th? 666th?)
If you don't find yourself tapping your feet to Turning Japanese check your pulse.
am i on acid???? such a grat ride..to catch at trains
Cold War is my fav
love this band, turning japanese is the weakest song out them all, love the storys the song tell,
The Vapors - Peel Session 1979 21.2.23 1231pm actually the whole punk movement was situated about and around someone's musing upon the notion of making homemade soup and the variations of... that's it! that's all it's about... pissed off chef in the kitchen, some dude's making toast to go with that soup... stuff like that... you'd never credit it.
Was that bleep in the intro put there by the BBC?
that whats going on song (not the Marvin Gaye one) is directly stolen from the second song here.
Vibracobra23 Ennui... Do you have any connection with the great Suburban Lawns?
No...unfortunately they never did a Peel Session
I see... Do you know what became of Su Tissue, their female member?
No idea...though I know that it's a question often asked
It's very unfortunate The Suburban Lawns never recorded any Peel Sessions? Or released a Peel Sessions Album? Just like many other Great Punk,Mod, & New Wave Bands in Hollywood & Los Angeles?
Their bassist was way too good
Still plays with them .. still playing and putting in great shows
