Man you gotta listen to flatland cavalry, they are finally getting the recognition they deserve but they can play loud fast anthems like turnpike but also slow it down with some great story telling, plus the lead singer cletos voice is so unique that the band stands on their own like no one else
Hey Burt! You cant pick a single bad song honestly! But "The Mercury". its a great story but i also agree with bigboy.....diamonds and gasoline is awesome too! also, "before the devil knows were dead". love the channel! keep it up man!
Yo Burt, just found your page and I love your content! Turnpike is truly the greatest Americana band a lot of people haven’t heard of! So you’re a fan of huge music intros huh? Well if you want to get punched in the face with big sound listen to “The Winding Mountain Stair Blues” off their newest record A Long Way From Your Heart. You’ll be floored with that intro! Also one of his greatest lyrical songs is also on that album “The Housefire”…we should all meet up at either Billy Bob’s in Ft Worth or Cooks Garage in Lubbock for one of their shows! Love your content man!!
Let’s go wherever they decide to kickoff the tour. Funny you mentioned Springsteen in your review. I do agree and will also throw Eric Church into that elite group of incredible lyrics, heart pounding anthems and just a phenomenal live performer.
I've never seen a video where they were all so young, and I don't think that's there current drummer (who is better than this guy that's just banging away) unless this guy got chubbier, got glasses and got better. Please correct me if I'm wrong, anyone. The wikipedia lists former members but doesn't talk about what they played.
I’ll probably see ‘em in Richmond, VA if they swing by again on tour. Saw them there with Charley Crockett a few years ago and it was an amazing show. Down Here, Come As You Are, and Down on Washington are a few of my favorites.
I have been lucky to see them about 6 times. If they hit the Pageant in St. Louis I don’t miss them. Haven’t seen the tour schedule. They released an new song at red rocks a few months back. They are my favorite band period.
I lived in Tahlequah, Oklahoma during my college years. That used to be their headquarters. Of course that was years before they were around or possibly born. I agree Cain's ballroom.
Where are we meeting up on tour?
I can't go anywhere in the country but if they get within a couple states of North Carolina I WILL BE THERE 👍
If they come to Saint Louis, come and see them with me!
Red Rocks. Tickets go on sale Friday morning 10am central.
They will play at the Cain's Ballroom at some point...if you have never been, its unlike any experience you will ever have for a concert.
Come to red rocks! I'll be there!
Caines Ballroom of course! Where it all started!
That's gonna be the perfect place!
Right on !
We have traveled all over Texas, and even the U.S. watching their shows over the years. Red dirt has been needing this comeback in a bad way!
You ain’t lying Cody!
the crowd had no idea what they were witnessing lol

The music gods have answered my humble prayer
Thank you for your continued prayers.

Thanks so much Edward!

I saw these guys in Tulsa and it was the best show I have ever attended! Best, hands down!
Red Rocks in Colorado! May 14, 2022!
Gonna be one to remember!
It’s time for a series of nothing but Turnpike!!
They got enough good songs for it for sure!

I'm down to go wherever!
haven’t seen an old video like this before he got sober. quite a difference.

You should probably hit up tornado warning.
And if they make their way up to Minnesota I’ll buy the beer.
Minnesota it is then!
I’ll probably see ‘em in Richmond, VA if they swing by again on tour. Saw them there with Charley Crockett a few years ago and it was an amazing show.

Thanks for watching Travis and I'll check em out!
They're coming to Tuscaloosa in November.
Might have to make the trip!

Saw them in Omaha last year, best concert I've ever seen
Waiting for a better live of diamonds and gasoline and Empty as a Drum so I can get em on the stream
For being one of the best live bands ever it's strange how few good videos of them live are out there.
I feel the same about Lucero! So hard to find a quality recording that really captures what they leave out there on stage night after night.
check out Diamonds and Gasoline or 1968
Tulsa! So happy today!!!!

You really should check out Flatland Cavalry, Turnpike had an influence on them.

Fiddle player Kyle Nix!
Nashvegas!
Might have to be the spot. Only 6 hours from here!
@@SongwriterReacts about the same distance for me. Not a bad place to catch them live, though.
