These guys are absolutely F***** amazing! True country, folk, rock, bluegrass, etc! Storytelling in music is a lost art form and these guys do it flawlessly!
"A spade is made for diggin' dirt and an axe is made for choppin'. Darlin', my heart's hard as nails they hammer in a hardwood coffin." That is one of my all-time favorite lyrics. So badass and ominous, while having an incredible groove in the delivery.
It's the third or fourth best song on the album (wrecked, good lord Lorrie, before the devil knows we're dead).... which shows how great an album it is!
Turnpike Troubadours, you guys are the real deal! We up here in New York are loving your Country music. If you want to come up North, we got plenty of room for good folks like you.
So glad Evan and Staci are back together and have a child now. Awesome. Really praying for his continued sobriety and that this band can get back together at some point. Their music is all such top quality stuff.
There's good red dirt country out there. Check out Paul Cauthen "Holy Ghost Fire live performance". And "cocaine country dancing" He turns people into fans.

A few years ago, I had just met a lovely red haired lady who took me to see these guys play at The District, in Sioux Falls, SD. I’d only heard of them in passing before. Anyhow, they were ON POINT that night, and it was a really fun show. Great band, and I really hope they get back to it, because not many can put a show like that on. Anyhow, if you happen to read this, Pretty Redhead, thanks, and I still smile thinking about that one...
HillbillyBoogie1 You should check out Red Dirt music. The local stuff that's coming out of Texas and Oklahoma. It's heavily influenced by the Outlaw country scene.
Discovered these guys Friday night in Philly, opening for Luke Combs. Definitely a fan now. How did i never hear these guys before? So terrific. Had no idea they’d been around for over a decade!
@jjlax7 I know I'm not the same guy, but Reckless Kelly, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Mission Mountain Wood Band, Midland, Zach Bryan, Jason Isbell, Flatland Cavalry, Watchouse, and Nickel Creek are some good bands/artists. Ian Munsick has some good songs, too.
Haven’t watched this video in several years and I forgot how good it is. The way it’s shot, the dusty dance hall, the classic farmhouse, the fields…it all has a poor country fairytale feel that really resonates with me. The actors are great. Would love to know who they are.
