If anyone has come to this video now. Dynamic Animation Replacer (DAR) has been replaced by Open Animation Replacer (OAR). The difference between the two is that OAR will work on any Skyrim edtion and is backwards compatible with any DAR animations.

It was because of OAR that i came back to Skyrim. I didnt want to downgrade my game to use DAR to start using combos and attack overhauls so I just bided my time. Of course, DAR did get an update to work with the latest version of AE but OAR is just better imo.

There are a lot of those folks and a bunch of mods have upgraded so it would be good to see a full list of mods that are used together that work in the post-AE chaos.

Honestly I'm just glad Soft mentioned it. Lots of other youtubers show off their combat set-up and skip the requirements entirely.

Yea fundamentally it would be right to show the requirements, but Skyrim mods usually have requirements and you shouldn’t just ever blindly download, if you do that’s honestly your fault.
It's a bit weird but not a big deal IMO because all the mods are hosted on Nexus which basically goes "Hey dummy, make sure you have the requirements" before you can download a file.
Awesome List. I didnt know about Eviscerate, and I plan on using that. Thank you! Currently I am using Valravn, Precision, True directional Movement, Seikiro Combat S, TUDM, RAID. I really want to use the DAR animations, but im on 1.6.640. Im patient im sure it will be updated eventually. I feel Enai doesn't get enough credit for Valravn. It truly is a under appreciated mod. You get the amazing Combat AI, and built in Mortal Enemies.

Most of this stuff is really nice, but there are other animations sets i prefer over Attack. But over overall very helpful video to add some life to skyrim combat
Pretty sure attack is essentially the framework to be overwritten by other mods

me on the sidelines: *face tanks everything using high hp regen and armor
ADXP + 3tweaks makes skyrim very different since u have to commit on your attacks. Since you cant attack skate anymore and enemies hit like a truck.
What other mods did you use? Which weapons pack did you use, which graphics, and which magic mod for the ruins?

Sounds like either your load order is wrong, missing required mods or maybe missing compatibility stuff

Does anyone have any experience with the Blade and Blunt combat overhaul mod (that goes with the Adamant perk overhaul)? I’m a few hours into my first modded playthrough with it and I don’t have much experience with other overhauls, so I’d like to know how others think it compares to Wildcat for example
Hello soft. Do you mind telling what mod gives that nice looking blood splash? It might be enhanced blood textures, but the actual blood splash when hitting enemies looks pretty nice.

You should make a new video with OAR - Replcing DAR for newer AE, and OAR upgrading DAR.
Or adding a Banner that OAR can be used for new AE versions.
Does that break some mods at all? I could not get TDM directional setting changes to apply, it's always stuck at directional movement no matter what and that feels terrible in combat. Though I'm not sure what is causing this problem.
Great video! By the way im having an issue with TDM, the 360 mounted archery displays as not installed in the MCM menu, regardless i checked its box in the nemesis engine and run it. Do you know how to fix it?
AMCO with almost the same mods didn't really click for me. Maybe it's the animations or something but it always felt like it had some jankiness compared to Skysa w/ sekiro + other mods
I'm new to modding Skyrim, just wanted to ask, do these mods work best for special edition?
Valhalla combat is excellent on paper, but will inevitably break on itself and makes you perform killmoves while making your enemy immune. Definitely give it a go, just know that once it starts happening, there is no point trying to fix it, it won't be fixed without you completely uninstalling everything.

Can you tell wich graphics mods you are using?
Currently using fnis along with the expanded skeleton mod and unfortunately these cool looking side step and quick dodges require nemesis and a bunch of other off site programs... so many seem way too complicated. I may just have to forget ever getting a dodge mod.
maybe i missed it but did you mention you have to downgrade to an earlier version of skyrim for the animation replacer mods? dynamic animation replacer doesnt work with latest version of skyrim and Script extender
For some reason if I equip a weapon in my left hand and sprint the character runs with their arm completely stretched out

Great videos and explanations. Mods would be wonderful to have except I'm testing a new load order with these Mods and three of them are out of date and can't be loaded/handled properly by SSE/SKSE.

@AzViking69-aka-Karl it's the ones that have to be downloaded off-site from nexus. SCAR is another one that needs tonbe updated but someone made an updated plug in for it on the nexus.

Do you by any chance know of a dodge mod working for the latest AE skyrim version? Both TK and the other dodge mod are for 1.6.3- but the latest is 1.6.4- i've been trying to see if they work out, but they simply don't. Aside from that, this video helped me out a lot in making the game much more intresting! Thank you!

By the way i just rebuild my combat mods and realise a bug i cannot fix :
I cannot use mco powerattack loop spree after the second powerattack , my stamina bar blinks but stamina is not drained. However after use tgm i can use my mco power attacks how i wish.

Precision (or parts of it) can not be used for VR, right?
Can I use it all together after nemesis? Last time nemesis make my character cant move and the mouse works only left/right non clickable or horizontal :/ now im reinstaling
when downloading the attack mod, it took me a day to realize I downloaded the wrong DAR mod and so I was frantically searching for a fix for a day before realizing I needed the older version instead of the newer one 💀💀
You can now use open animation replacer which has kind of superseeded DAR
Great Content! Do you play the game with a gamepad, if so do you use a mod or have some sort of configuration to work correctly with the commands? Another thing: regarding the valhalla combat mod, how do i make the stun and execution feature work? i have configured the hotkey to activate the execution but i fail to make it work and how do i know the enemy is stunned?
Hi yes I use an Xbox controller with custom button map layout. I don't have any issues with the execution setting, when their health bar starts flashing and the stun bar is depleted is when you can execute

shield on back is from the mod simple dual sheath

now we need a mod that will fix the 3rd person camera collision in dungeons and these havok combat overhauls will become playable ;) until then I will stick with vanilla like 1st person
You have some collision camera, but it would be awesome if smooth cam got an update where you have an interior preset. That would be great to have a wide view outside then in interiors it gets close to the body .
I'm currently having issues with this pack. Won't let me past the intro cutscene because none of the people that are supposed to appear in the cutscene actaully appear then it softlocks when the carts reach the gate

I'm just using TK dodge with some animation replacers. Make sure you have your ini set up correctly for the animations you're using

the bad thing about dodge mod and animations is they can cancel if you press jump. this looks weird and unrealistic. or my installation is bugged idk
0:42 "is the aimbot button". first person player here. I downloaded it cause something basically said I had to, but I dunno, skyrim never felt that great in third person anyways. :V
god that spook dodge goes so far. you're gonna throw yourself off a cliff if you're not careful. I'm honestly not overly enthused with the moveset thing. actually kinda like the "ice skating".

Which mod are you using to display your shield on your back? I'm currently using Immersive Equipment Displays and I can only get it there when my shield is unequipped so the animations don't match up.
simple dual sheath, you just have to edit the ini file
what dualwielding block do you recommend to use with this overhaul?
If you use one with some of the mods in this list it can be hella unbalanced. You get double the damage of a single weapon without any repercussions. The main downside of dual wielding is that you have to rely on dodging instead of blocking / parrying. If you don’t mind that, then you can use the one I used to run (before I started playing Elden Ring and uninstalled everything lol). It is called “(SJG) Dual Wield Parrying Reimplementation”.

Yes it will work just requires a few extra support mods such as MCO universal support
DAR works with AE but TK dodge (at least last I checked) does not.

sorcerer combat broke my game now it gives me error everytime i open the game. DAR is incompatible with OAR,eventho i deleted it still gives me a plugin error.
hey bro ive been playing this game for years and have always wanted to do this, ony recently found out about all these extra apps like FNIS and the ones mentioned in the video, is it possible if you can make a video on how install the requirements and what to do if i have some incompatible modifications, im so lost when it comes to these sorts of complications.
could you please look at one skyrim vid on my channel and give me advice what could be the problem with the animation? Tried reinstalling everything, yet unsheathe animation doesnt work only on left arm and only when moving
