You're lucky you came in when you did. None of this was remotely possible for over ten years of Skyrim modding. The best attempts at it were some janky alternate movesets, animation replacers that would glitch out if they didn't precisely match vanilla parameters and, the BIGGEST development in Skyrim modding for that decade, the ability to attack while airborne.
@@vitriolicAmaranth So true, i've been modding for 6 years now, and changes within the last 2~3 years were so drastic. Back when FNIS was considered the most cutting edge framework in the modding community, i had to cope with freezing animations, clipping, bugs and stuff. 3PCO or something, a 3rd person mod, was extremely buggy and stiff. There wasn't even a single animation mod for TK dodge without rough edges and abrupt stops. Compared to nowadays Dynamic Dodge Animation, DMCO, Infinity Dodge, etc, back then was really clunky. I had exactly 255 mods back then (esl weren't common so i hit my maximum plugin limit), and even with the maximum mod number the game hardly changed for the better. My setup before 2021 was just a vanilla+ skyrim with better graphics, slightly better AI, a few new animations, and more items.
I owe you a BIG word of thanks for putting out these videos of selected mods to use together in different categories, and for making them very easy to install by linking your modlist and load order. I have been using quite a few of them to build my new modlist with, and it all seems to be working very smoothly so far. I chose to also follow your video on community shaders with all of the new add-ons. I teamed it with Azurite Weathers 2, and it looks pretty amazing! I like it because it gives me a lot more fps to use on other mods for larger cities, textures, and animations. Again, thank you!
I really wish there were more 1st person combat mods, and just general gameplay elements just imagine Skyrim with the gameplay of mordhau or dark and darker, would be great. Nonetheless great video and very informative. All love ❤

@@davidcopperfield5345 because nowadays most people don't actually care about first person combat in skyrim, it's as simple as that, maybe in the past, but with better third person cameras, better gameplay controls in 3P and mods like MCO, most people like combat in 3p, and 1p is only for immersion or to see things closery, i'm basing this on the current player base and nexus downloads, cause all combat mods that i've seen someone play are based on Dark Souls, and all have hundreds of thousands if not millions of downloads

I love blacks too!!! I really like that they're not so anime style and are pretty believable. Many based on Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Origins. I was subbed to his pareon even for a while. But he releases them all for free on Nexus, at least last I checked like a year or so ago.
Great video Soft Gaming! I really enjoy your videos. And i have a suggestion, bring more videos about immersion and quality of life in the game. Game mechanics overhauls, that brings modern RPGs mechanics to Skyrim. Hey! Just wanted to say, thank you for taking the time to make this video, and linking all of them in the description. It took me while to set up, but man was it worth it!
The thing about combat overhauls like MCO and SkySA is that compatibility with Animated Armory is a bit sketchy, and that's a mod I can't play without that this point. Even Precision doesn't work perfectly with it. A combination of Elder Souls - Sweep Attack and Realistic Melee Range is fine for me.
I saved this video so I can go through it later. I'm pretty happy with combat, but I was wanting a new animation package. Also the newest MCO has dual block built in. Just move it to the bottom of your load order.
Any plans to create a Wabbajcak modpack? Considering the amazing mods you use and review, and how stunning your visuals and gameplays looks, I'm sure that modpack wouldn't only be absolutely brilliant but also one of the top downloaded ones.
Here's the thing: this mod list to overhaul the combat IMO is probably the best you're gonna get at this time for Skyrim. However, one aspect is fundamentally broken due to multiple factors: the dodge mods. What do I mean? Well the three dodge mods listed: "TK dodge RE, The Ultimate Dodge or DMCO" all have issues and they are as follows: 1. TK Dodge This mod no longer works correctly with True Directional Movement. TK Dodge is hard-coded in a way that conflicts with other mods and as a result when combined with TDM you can either no longer dodge left and right or you can only dodge forward. I've seen many posts about these issues on Nexus and Reddit, but I have yet to find a concrete solution. 2. The Ultimate Dodge Mod This is not an issue if you're a K&M user but for all controller users, console, PC or otherwise will have one major problem. You cannot effectively rebind the dodge key. By default, it's bound to clicking the left thumbstick which as you might already know is how you sneak in the game which means you have to rebind sneak to something else which also causes problems... That said, the cool dodge animation mod shown in this video doesn't work well with TDM. 3. DMCO This is the most functional of the three and IMO should be the one that you use for K&M and controller users. Why? It actually works and works well! Two minor issues though... Since DMCO has been updated in the last 6 months, it no longer functions with the aforementioned dodge animation mod. This is an issue because IMO and many others, the default animations look the worst out of the three mods. The dodge roll doesn't really suit Skyrim so you're forced to use the step dodge which looks a little odd... It sort of makes you look like a Looney Tunes character like Wile E. Coyote trying to step over land minds or something lol. As I said before, minor issue but it does look the worst out of all the dodge mods by far and you can't fix it by using the superior animation mods so... And keep in mind, all 3 of these dodge mods require multiple other mods in other to function correctly! You will see guides and more info on the mod pages discussion board. At this point in time, it's tedious and annoying to try and get to work correctly with other mods, unfortunately...
Im really not satisfied with my current combat setup. There are too many bugs and discrepancies. Will clear my whole combat section and try your setup instead!
This looks cool. The last time I got into Skyrim modding it seems people only wanted to turn it into Dark Souls. This looks more fun. I'm worried about all the hotkeys though, because I'd prefer to play with a gamepad.
I'd really love to know how you made Precision, TK Dodge RE and Dynamic Dodge work together. No matter what I do Nemesis just refuses to generate a behavior patch. At least if I do what the mod description tells me to do.
Another comprehensive and easy to follow modlist video, Soft. I also follow your previous combat overhaul modlist, but i am experiencing a problem in it. It is that the aim of bow and arrow in third person is off center, or maybe the crosshair isn't lined up properly. So that now i have to rely on TDM target locking mechanism to aim in third person. Are you also experiencing this problem?
i stumbled upon one of your video then started bingig it. thanks for all the info you provide. i know this vid is an old one, but i particulary commented here because i would to ask the mod you are using in this video.thanks.

If I’m currently on 1.6.1170 and choose to downgrade to pick up these mods will I have to restart my whole mod list ? Or just the ones for that were meant for 1.6.1170?
Most should but some will need updating since the latest Bethesda update wasn't too long ago. I wouldn't use the poise mods on the latest version however

Awesome video as always soft! do you know if this would work now that bethesda updated AGAIN (and this time for the worse)? even with the downgrader patch people have been complaining about crashes
I was trying to avoid bothering you with this, but I have totally failed with making dynamic dodge work. Do you by chance have a text or video tutorial of how to get it going?
Hey there, SoftGaming. Thank you for this amazing guide. I've done my best to follow it to the letter, but I noticed not everything is as it seems. You mention the mods "Ashes of War' on your description here, but in the other hand, when checking your Excel Load Order sheet, the Ashes mod is not listed there. So, should we use it or not? Would it conflict with the rest of the mods? If you could clarify, I'd be grateful. Take care.

Could you make this into a modpack/collection? Please, I'll really aprecciate it.
Tried to install this from your mom list - I'm getting t posing after running nemesis. Can you do a more in depth explanation of how to install the mods and pluggins? Especially since the skyrim update has changed some things
got a feeling skyrim 6 will have this type of combat tbh bc im sure bethesda will copy combat stuff in elden ring and assassins creed combat or they will take theses combat mod ideas we are making and inprove them in elder scrolls 6
i appreciate the work you put into these videos. i recently just started modding skyrim again after nearly 10yrs. a lot has changed and thousands upon thousands of new mods created. i am currently using FNIS, and i know eveyone says it's dated and to use nemesis, but some of the mods im trying to make work only use FNIS. the problem i am having is the nightmare t-pose animation for all characters. i keep getting 4 warnings after every batch run w FNIS. i think ive got htk (?) files showing up. im not sure if it's from a currently installed mod or if it's residual left over from when i started before i messed up and had to reinstall skyrim and start over. is there a way to find or change these files, or even ignore them and still have FNIS work? it's driving me insane and im about to give up, which sucks real bad. when i modded years ago, i was running 130 mods just fine, including FNIS (i believe that's what i was using for the animations combined w the skeleton). but now, im just not having any luck w the animations. i am using vortex but i keep seeing everyone saying to use MO2. can i start over w MO2 if i purge mods from vortex wo having to reinstall skyrim again? any help would be immensly helpful. im at the point where i am willing to pay $100 to anyone who can get FNIS working for me. /sigh
Hey, very very great video you got there. I have a question to ask, is there any way to you to show your load order that combine your UI+HUD and combat overhaul? I'm new to modding skyrim and have no idea how to set the load order. Thank you
Great video as always, right when I needed it :D 3 questions though: I got Poise and Valhalla and turned Valhallas poise meter of so now it shows poise yellow meter it doesnt go down a lot really.. i've read its because of ultimate combat - do you know about an incompability and next question is there any sense/need to still have ultimate combat and/or cgo? :) Thank you!
I was almost finishing my modlist, now I'll have to restart just to put some of those mods ._. Btw, what armor and hair mods you use for the female char?
Great Video i must say However despite Following every step as you showed in this video i was still not able to replicate the fluid and sick animations. What must i be doing wrong, any suggestions?
I'm using Nolvus and my combat is wonky as hell. I'm gona try changing the 360°movement to vanilla setting when unscathed when I get home. I think most mods were designed with mouse and keyboard intended to. I'm using a controller. I might try switching my joystick to movement key input.
I like what you talk about and many of your points but it is tough watching your videos since you are so monotone. Drink some tea/coffee before recording 😊
This is probably a weird request, but my issue with all these hotkey mods is that I get confused with my controls, and never know which key to bind it to! What are you guys’ keybinds? Id like to get inspired.
cool list of combat mod cant stop fight stance on barehands or magic also , undraw or sheathe weapon changin order plugin or setting on mcm doesnt help at all then i accidently press sneak before sheathing key man... spent almost 3 hours to solve this
Excellent, as usual. I'm running the latest version of Skyrim SE and AE on both Steam 1.6.1170 and GOG 1.6.1179. When a mod requires me to use SkyUI and I download it, it causes my in-game Difficulty Setting to default to Novice - I play on Legendary Difficulty. When I change the setting to Legendary it tells me it has been saved, but when I recheck the setting, it has gone back to Novice. This happen on both Steam and GOG. When I remove SkyUI the problem goes away. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong - I am a complete novice at modding, or something needs to be fixed. Do you a solution? Cheers, Harry. PS I have SKSE64 on both platforms.
Helllo there! i'm starting modding skyrim following you! could i ask what version of the game do you have for this mods? mine is actually 1.6.1170.0 and i need to understand if i have to downgrade to use your modlist. Thanks in advance!
Great Vid, thx so much. I started with skyrim again after many years ^^ so i downloaded the MO2 and a vanilla version of SSE on steam. I already installed many mods for textures etc. Now i'll improve the combat ;-) After every mod i do a loot-run and after every five mods i do a test-run of Skyrim.. I guess i will have some questions about installing these mods of your combat list. The first question is, how did you get the amazing physics of your hair? 🙂
I‘m pretty sure Soft Gaming is using "FSMP - Faster HDT-SMP". 🙂 Make sure to really choose the "Faster" mod - it’s the improved version and works like a charm.
Yes npc won't dodge aswell.. I remember with ultimate combat+wildcat+tk dodge the game was very challenging. Animation was worse yes but funnier gameplay.

I'm creating a whole modpack to download :)
@@SoftGamingOfficial Thank you very much!!
@@SoftGamingOfficial You are a Hero :D and btw nice Videos, i enjoy them =)
May I ask what SmoothCam preset you're using? Looks really good!
Its my own one called Soft preset on nexus
Tried to install this from your mom list - I'm getting t posing after running nemesis. Can you do a more in depth explanation of how to install the mods and pluggins? Especially since the skyrim update has changed some things
I havent tried all of them yet but the poise stagger should be included in Valhalla combat
Thanks for this guide, whats the mod of your hair?
Valkyr Hairstyles
got a feeling skyrim 6 will have this type of combat tbh bc im sure bethesda will copy combat stuff in elden ring and assassins creed combat or they will take theses combat mod ideas we are making and inprove them in elder scrolls 6
Will you be putting together a wabbjack? I’m sure it would be one of the more popular mod packs
I am working on one now :)
Is there a time frame for when your wabbajack will be releasing? I’m super hyped 🤟🏼
i appreciate the work you put into these videos. i recently just started modding skyrim again after nearly 10yrs. a lot has changed and thousands upon thousands of new mods created. i am currently using FNIS, and i know eveyone says it's dated and to use nemesis, but some of the mods im trying to make work only use FNIS. the problem i am having is the nightmare t-pose animation for all characters. i keep getting 4 warnings after every batch run w FNIS. i think ive got htk (?) files showing up. im not sure if it's from a currently installed mod or if it's residual left over from when i started before i messed up and had to reinstall skyrim and start over. is there a way to find or change these files, or even ignore them and still have FNIS work? it's driving me insane and im about to give up, which sucks real bad. when i modded years ago, i was running 130 mods just fine, including FNIS (i believe that's what i was using for the animations combined w the skeleton). but now, im just not having any luck w the animations. i am using vortex but i keep seeing everyone saying to use MO2. can i start over w MO2 if i purge mods from vortex wo having to reinstall skyrim again? any help would be immensly helpful. im at the point where i am willing to pay $100 to anyone who can get FNIS working for me. /sigh
nice, what's armor u use? (male and female) =)
just trying the game, hope these work for me on 1617 , se and ae
Hey, very very great video you got there. I have a question to ask, is there any way to you to show your load order that combine your UI+HUD and combat overhaul? I'm new to modding skyrim and have no idea how to set the load order. Thank you
That's all in here ruclips.net/video/msreiell7qE/видео.html
Great video as always, right when I needed it :D
3 questions though: I got Poise and Valhalla and turned Valhallas poise meter of so now it shows poise yellow meter it doesnt go down a lot really.. i've read its because of ultimate combat - do you know about an incompability and next question is there any sense/need to still have ultimate combat and/or cgo? :)
Thank you!
Hi i dont use either ultimate combat or CGO so not sure if they are compatible or not sorry
Why do you not make a mod pack out of your modlist? Would be super nice and easy
Hi great vid just wondering what fire mod your using for the torches and what not as the fire looks really good... thanks
Called Embers XD
do you have a whole list of every mod you use ? or any collection like this ?
hey man, how can I do a roll dodge? I'm only able to do step cancel and side dodge. Thx for your videos, i am learning so much!
Holy cow, how does your game look really good AND smooth? Mine stutters and looks like crap and we have relatively similar specs...
dude you are cool
Need some of these for my ps5
thank you
I was almost finishing my modlist, now I'll have to restart just to put some of those mods ._.
Btw, what armor and hair mods you use for the female char?
Hair is valkyr hairstyles and the armor is from the dark souls pack by Team TAL
@@SoftGamingOfficial What about the male hairstyle?
@@andreaghidini4884 same hair mod and thd armor is CC content called spell knight
Great Video i must say
However despite Following every step as you showed in this video i was still not able to replicate the fluid and sick animations.
So, I have all of these mods installed and everything is working perfectly. But.. How do you Dodge like that? With the animations.
The dodge is the dynamic dodge mod with TK dodge RE
So cool
I like what you talk about and many of your points but it is tough watching your videos since you are so monotone. Drink some tea/coffee before recording 😊
Haha thanks I will try 😄
It doesn't really bother me. Better than when people make every sentence sound like a question.
Don’t agree he has a good voice for presenting
any Melee Combat like wrestling or mma... atleast Kung Fu?! with finishers?
This is probably a weird request, but my issue with all these hotkey mods is that I get confused with my controls, and never know which key to bind it to! What are you guys’ keybinds? Id like to get inspired.
I use controller and have to unbind some keys and then rebind somewhere else
I wish precision was on Xbox, seems like a relatively simple mod
Hi! just a question, what mod do you use for the blood, and blood spray?
What's the armor your male character is using, the one with hdt physics?
It's called spell knight from the CC content in the AE update
What hair mod (with physic), my friend?
Hi it's called Valkyr hairstyles
The one thing I hate about Skyrim modding- all the separate mods you have to download
Thanks
what are you using for landscapes?
cool list of combat mod
cant stop fight stance on barehands or magic also , undraw or sheathe weapon
changin order plugin or setting on mcm doesnt help at all
then i accidently press sneak before sheathing key
man... spent almost 3 hours to solve this
Do you have a xbox friendly mod list? I can't even find Valhalla combat on xbox lol
Wonder which one of these mods has now caused my Skyrim to crash every time I try and open lol
What mods do you use to put your weapons on your back ?
Also If you could share how you configure the mod
I use immersive equipment displays for that. You need to use the in game ui and change the gear nodes to back option
Hi im using 1.5.97. Youre on the most recent update, so you can either downgrade or wait for the mods to be updated
@@SoftGamingOfficialdoes 1.6.353 work as well for these?
Great Vid, thx so much. I started with skyrim again after many years ^^ so i downloaded the MO2 and a vanilla version of SSE on steam.
I already installed many mods for textures etc. Now i'll improve the combat ;-)
After every mod i do a loot-run and after every five mods i do a test-run of Skyrim..
Can I download all these mods together or some of them can’t be together
Yes npc won't dodge aswell.. I remember with ultimate combat+wildcat+tk dodge the game was very challenging. Animation was worse yes but funnier gameplay.
