      Omg I completely agree. I want the vanilla feel, the feel of SKYRIM. The ruggedness and all of it, the feel of the harsh Nordic planes. It all has a aesthetic synchronicity.
      Don't get me wrong I love the modded community and it's incredible and unique that Skyrim has such a large fanbase of incredible and talented people still contributing to and modding it, and to each to their own..
      But it can be a little tedious when trying to tailor a modded experience unique to my very vanilla taste when the VAST majority of mod showcases, displays etc are all saturated in that very stylised, discordant, enb'd to fuckery look and all the characters are like anime people with enormous tits and pastel faces

Btw I've had the same opinion as you, played my rim with bleak enb etc, but it really doesn't make much difference whether you use the low saturation, and contrast graphics or the high sat. If you're sick of vanilla as i am, focus on gameplay, and making the game more fun to play, try not to get drawn into IMMERSION, it's nonsense you'll realise quickly it's shallow, and lame scenic simulator, and honestly people you don't need 1k mods to have a amazing experience, i got 15 modded playthroughs with 100ish mods and they were, and are great. Trust me those 1k mods you'll forget about it the moment you start playing. F i had like 600 armour sets once, through the 100hour playthrough i used 4 of them, same goes for everything else, a small list of good stuff, is much easier to keep track of, you can always make another playthrough

      Vanilla combat isn’t even that good to get mad for tho… You get hit by weapons 5 feet away from you before the hit animation fully registers, it’s more like a number game of who does more damage and has more armor rating due to having almost no defensive options. And if you fight enemies with high attack damage and 20 percent of your health is gone you get kill-moved. I like Skyrim vanilla. I first played it on ps4 but you don’t gotta be delusional to like a game. Now it feels wrong for me to play without wildcat and hit-box mods

    • @SoCHobbit
      @SoCHobbit 5 месяцев назад +10

      Make the game better is subjective. I do overhaul combat in my modded skyrim but most of it would be considered vanilla+. I personally find a lot of combat mods, especially those that are part of MCO to be too over the top and flashy for skyrim, and I prefer mods that simply update some animations, without all the movesets.
      This doesn't mean I think MCO is bad. It just means if I want movesets I'll go play Elden Ring, but over the top modlists take me out of the immersion of skyrim.
      And I have friends that do not have the patience or the basic knowledge of modding to go through the process of nodding skyrim, and hundreds of hours later they are enjoying the game still.
      So my point is that saying people need to accept that mods make the game better is your own subjective opinion, and many would contest it.

    • @Cronalixz
      @Cronalixz 5 месяцев назад +8

      @@SoCHobbitA lot of them go to straight up DMC territory, which is crazy. As you said, the movesets work better in their respective games. I can just boot up DMC and it works right off the bat without bugs... it's clear Skyrim isnt really meant to be played like that. Always felt like Mount and Blade combat would fit seamlessly though, so I never understood why they didn't go with that instead

    I like both vanilla and modded Skyrim. Now that a groundbreaking mod called MCO has appeared, as someone who likes high fantasy, I mainly use the Virgil moveset for high-quality action that fits the current trend. However, the reason I played Skyrim in the past was because the image of the brave northern Norse warrior with a steel sword and shield defeating a dragon and using the roar looked so masculine and strong. Some people say that the appearance of Skyrim's vampire lord is monstrous and ugly, but I really like the appearance of Skyrim's vanilla vampire lord. Originally, vampires were undead and monsters. They expressed monsters as monsters and made them look scary and powerful, so why should they be criticized? Anyway, what I mean is that Skyrim is good whether it's vanilla or modded

    • @FROSTGamingVerse
      @FROSTGamingVerse  2 дня назад

      I get what you mean! Skyrim works in so many ways, whether you’re into the high fantasy action with MCO or the classic Norse warrior vibe. The Vampire Lord design is definitely more monstrous, but that’s what makes it stand out-vampires are supposed to be scary! Skyrim’s great whether you stick to vanilla or go all in with mods.

    let the mod community help make TESVI for a decade or so and everyone would be very much happy. I think striking a good balance between these two is my preference. I’m honestly not a massive fan of the super flashy MCO combat. I like using a mix of realistic animations like some of the leviathan, vanargand or goetia animations combined with CGO for more of a vanilla plus feel. Kinda opens up things like jump attacks and being able to use a 2 hander with a shield or some magic. And sprinkle some procedural leaning for that extra feel and it’s so much more satisfying than MCO for me. I’m ngl MCO doesn’t feel smooth at all. It feels stiff and clunky asf with tons of clipping and dodgy mechanics.
    No hate to the list the gameplay look undeniably more modern and probably more enjoyable for most but I’d take vanilla over MCO any day
