- Wearing my Seiko SLA055 on a Seiko SLA073 bracelet, I read the newest chapter from Exit Watch, "I Didn't Find an Exit Watch. It Found Me."
My novel The Secret Life of Watch Addicts is on Kindle:
www.amazon.com/Secret-Life-Wa...
I've been watching these with nervous, guilty, quiet, uncomfortable chuckles to myself. Hilarious, but cuts a little too deep at the same time...yet I keep coming back for more because I know I need to hear it.
I ended my collection on a grail watch ..( longines master collection moonphase retrograde)
I’ve been cold turkey for 2 years now ..
Something tells me McMahon is respecting a newfound accuracy.
The secret is Roland can't tell time.
The ultimate secret! That's a tall order and cliff hanger 👊💥
Can't wait.
I laughed out loud at the stomach ulcer analogy.
For me, it's the mental exhaustion of constantly thinking about my latest watch infatuation. With the grinding mental effort required to not buy it
Great stuff, McMahon. As you write the story, you should drop subtle references to your past videos.
I want to say I’ve found my exit, a new old stock SLA047 about a week ago and it’s been great! However, I’ve always told myself that if Seiko makes another SNK381 MACV SOG style watch in the SRPK case, I’m buying it
Congratulations on your new timepiece! May I ask what it cost roughly?
@@WristWatcher the SLA047 was 2,000 USD at an authorized dealer.
@Not-a-bot222 Awesome! Any photos?
Secret is that, years ago, following a terrible pumpkin blight, Roland's mother began secretly selling his watches to make ends meet, replacing each with a fake and also painstakingly reproducing all the little scratches from the originals on the fakes so Roland would never know. Today, all his watches are fakes, his collection a tragic face.
Am I close?
Loving the story McMahon!
Woww.. that SLA055 in metal bracelet simply looks stunning!
A window into our souls and I'm ashamed.... loving the story... and I'm considering getting my own possessive Demon watch.... maybe the Explorer, and be done with this (as if)
Jeff getting a bit morbid today. Feeling down is nothing that a nice watch purchase can’t fix.
Sounds bad reading it out loud, but it’s true.
Hey Jeff! Do you mind sharing where you got that beautiful bracelet for your SLA?
Direct from seiko usa
A reality check is all we need. Just own what you need. Our obsession just creates a sea of watches. Materialism and excess. I am down to five but a smartwatch is my daily for now. Yes I know…..got to have a tick tock not a bing bing. ‘A man is rich when he knows when he has enough’ said someone smarter than me. Sorry Jeff, I went off on one. Nice work.
