The art for this volume is amazing, but I just can't come to comprehend failsafe's existence as a whole. Batman. Is probably my favorite hero, but how did he survive the impact of a free fall from space? How did he survive the heat? And I guess since he goes to outer space often, he just designed an everyday suit to keep him alive in the void.
This story was pretty cool. I do think it is logical for Batman to have a failsafe should he go rogue or too far, just like he has failsafes to deal with the Justice League. However this one is a bit too far. It activated simply on the rumors that Batman killed Penguin, and no matter what ANYONE said, it wouldn't stop trying to kill him. Batman should have had some way of deactivating this thing, such as maybe his fellow heroes knowing abut it but not him, so that should it be activated falsely, they could somehow shut it down. Building it to even be able to take on the likes of Superman is a bit extreme, as this thing is a failsafe to deal with Batman. Other problems, it didn't seem to show much regard for the safety of the sidekicks, it didn't try to kill them, but had no problem beating them up if they got in it's way. It even took over Gotham to flush Batman out, that is a bit excessive. But overall a pretty cool story, I hope Failsafe doesn't get destroyed and can be fixed, still keep it around, but not to be as brutal as it was.
Superman can move at speeds at which failsafe cannot comprehend . He can even think and process shit in superspeed. Failsafe’s moves/reactions/attacks should be in slow motion for super man. And yet he got battered twice lol

Yeah it seems pretty big of an oversight. Batman should know somebody at some point would try to frame him for murder.
@@neoshenlong that was Alfreds job and Bruce doesn't remember it ever existing so he didn't replace it.
This is just one entry in a long list of ways Failsafe should have been able to fact-check whether Batman really had killed someone.
or like, an autopsy??? cameras on the known criminal just in case something happened?????
@@femthingevelyn Would just prove 'Batman' Cyanide Pilled Penguin, had gripped Penguin with force, etc. Not that Penguin took it willingly..

Or maybe something uniquely terrifying and heart wrenching that we haven't seen before to truly make him a one of a kind..
If Failsafe tells you to Go to Bed, you're already in REM..
This was an interesting idea but it kind of lost me half way through. Still I always enjoy your reads of them right to the end, Benny and appreciate the effort. Thanks a ton, bud and merry almost Christmas!
So even though I love Batman. And believe he is the best hero ever to wear a cape. Ain’t no way he is falling from outer space to earth after a battle. And somehow lands on earth without assistance. Boy ain’t no way. That’s when I start to believe whoever wrote this crap wasn’t a real Batman fan or had any knowledge on the character when it comes down to their actual capabilities.
Bro exactly, this dude is floating in space for 14 minutes with no proper space gear and then proceeds to enter earth’s atmosphere and land and not die wtf
Trust me guys, People Have survived that..
@@myman8336 Longest fall someone has survived is 33 thousand feet and she ended up in a coma, reentry involves temperatures in the range of 1400 degrees Celsius IF you come in at a proper angle and is a distance of 380,000 feet.
@Shadowlurkering in powerscaling terms, surviving reentry would put batman at "wall level" which isn't surprising since he's survived massive explosions and collapsed buildings boasting far more force than reentry
@@myman8336 No they have not.
I feel like Plastic Man really would have been a big help here. Or maybe Superman just flying in at Mach 5, grabbing the robot, and chucking it into the Sun.
I'm not a fan of the Failsafe's initial execution, but I can get behind the concept. What I can't stand is how Bruce (either version of him) programmed a version that might kill any of his friends. Also, why the HELL would he give it protocols for building robot minions to enslave Gotham!?!?
You forget, Bruce is many things but *SANE* isn't one of them! 😂
Well like in the storys says its prepared for anything and an evil Batman could hypothesis the leage to do his bidding so he has preparation for it
So the dark knight metal events, none of the evil batmen killed anyone that fail safe didnt activate? It would have been useful
Failsafe probably didnt exist at the time
@@Mr_Grapes it most likely did, but those rouge batmen hybrid variants, arent Batman. so failsafe wouldnt activate. well thats my theory about it.

It does get kind of absurd lol. The failsafe for Batman crossing the line... well the ones who don't care about killing would parade him for finally killing the joker lol.
Any of the others could just fight him without holding back... no elaborate plots needed.
Remember when he said the Justice league was his Failsafe..?
This is What he meant lol
Rest in peace Ben. This is my favourite vid of yours
As Batman himself said in Young Justice: "The League is my contingency against myself."
Batman is like a vigilante MacGyver.
More like MacGuyver is a DIY Batman
Anybody notice superman is so angry he's breathing ice while speaking? Nice touch.
the funny part is failsafe activates on a false rumor of batman killing someone but would probably stay shut off if he decided to go around beating innocent people/superheroes within an inch of death

Freddy kreuger: *invades batmans dream* "welcome to my wor...."
Batman: "i only dream when i want to"
Nah, cause then Freddy would have to deal with Zur-En-Arrh.
I read Batman's lines in some sort of highschool mean girl voice with the same energy of "I only wear Louis Vitton"
the twists and turns in that one never stop
Alright I know absolutely nothing about Zur En Ar but now I know for a fact that Batman is just as insane as the rest of his villains. Dude belongs in Arkham.
And...he survived orbital impact...what?
he survived SPACE?
@@cewla3348 yeah. And crashing into the earth from space. While there's cool stuff that happens in these events, I feel like overall they're just not as good anymore. it's because umm...HE IS BATMAN
he would have burned into dust from just re-entry
I know that the plot has to happen but I just can’t see Superman getting taken down by a robot like this. Supes could have speed blitzed him before he even had a chance to take out those daggers. But with that said I really enjoyed this story arc.
Such an epic story.
I wish Hollywood would copy this story to 100% with a budget to match.
TBH, DC actually stands a chance, with Marvel doing the M-She-U, it's possible, it's actually f*cking possible, in my humble opinion.

Yesss the Comic Book Story is finally here.
I was expecting the Batman failsafe to just be a picture of his parents causing him to instantly break down.
"Thats the hard part this city wants to die" thats being a true hero right there
I know Superman is OP but do they have to make him so stupid. Wouldn't he stay in outer space and attack this robot with his heat vision. Now maybe the robot has a way to shield itself or something but at least it would force Supes to try and come to grips with it.
He tried to Fly away to lure the Robot away with him, but the Robot went after Batman to lure Sups into a trap his consciousness wouldn't let him avoid..
one of the few times id say Superman was trapped and wasn't expecting the style of attack, like he knew he was trapped the moment Failsafe turned back and rushed towards batman, so he flew and chased back, and he probably was expecting a typical attack ie failsafe rotates his body to strike with one of the two kryptonite blades, but he didnt expect or feel the 3rd blade until it pierced him.
By the time he fought him in the arctic at least he had a lot of chances he didn't take.
And somehow Failsafe hit his pressure points even though he's covered in armor
He is not op or ever will be op in batman story's he just a puppy to serve batman
GOD,im glad your videos exist because even as a major batman fan, these comics are fuckin' exhausting to get through sometimes.

Rest in peace benny the reason I started reading comics
The art for this volume is amazing, but I just can't come to comprehend failsafe's existence as a whole. For a contingency plan designed to take Batman down and replace him, there seems to be way too many oversights for it to actually be considered deployable, especially with the part where it runs the city similar to how Braniac and Superior Spider-Man do.
"Of course Bruce created a contingency backup, *who created a contingency backup!*"
Ok so Batman just survived re-entry. This mans life is just... Wild.
I really appreciate you, Benny.
Thank you for putting the links in the shorts.
Hank Pym: I told you not to make your own Ultron. He just tries to kill you.

Too goofy to be serious, too serious to be goofy. I had to pause every now and then to try and process what were they thinking the moment bat man came out with his colorful costume.
we all know that the world's failsafe isn't another Batman but it's Alfred.
Hold on, failsafe was built by batman in case he goes rogue, but wouldn't he also make sure that failsafe gets his facts straight? And Zur-En-Ar is a created alternate, but I thought it was gone?

Batman. Is probably my favorite hero, but how did he survive the impact of a free fall from space? How did he survive the heat? And I guess since he goes to outer space often, he just designed an everyday suit to keep him alive in the void.
So not only can Batman breathe in space, he can survive reentry without burning up.
The only person I see honestly giving prep Batman a run for his money, if not flat out out-prep him, is The Midnighter.
God damn, that is a crazy story, and Bats's free fall puts Chief's fall to Earth in Halo 3 to shame.
Every day that theory that all this is taking place inside of Bruce's head in a mental institution makes more sense
Superman can move at speeds at which failsafe cannot comprehend . He can even think and process shit in superspeed. Failsafe’s moves/reactions/attacks should be in slow motion for super man. And yet he got battered twice lol
