A time in Bruce's life that can be summarized with "...and then it got worse."
At least we got the coolest Batgirl out of it. So weight the pros and cons.
Batman: "You're fired cuz you lost six innocence."
(I wish) Huntress: "Yeah? Well you lost a Robin, so ooo"
That would’ve been a horrible comeback positive that’s the reason it never happened
@frankiemcmillan4631 would have seen him before she finished tha sentence i mean he would have brought her back but still
@@LimitedEye😊
Best batman storyline of all time..wish for an 6 episode animated movie with no changes to the script...
Why though? I understand wanting an adaptation, I absolutely agree. But why no changes to the script? You've already seen that story. You've read that story. There would be no suspense at all, not even a little. I never understand why people want direct page-to-screen translations. What they need is a good writer to make smart changes that switch things up without altering the heart and core of the story, otherwise there's no point.
@@nickbotic well said sir
The Graphic Audio audio-drama for No Man's Land is absolutely incredible. If you have yet to, I highly recommend checking it out. It's honestly fantastic. Phenomenal, I'd even go so far in saying.
@@nickbotic right.
@@nickboticThe Last of Us did an AMAZING job with this exact mindset
-WHERE'S FREEZE?!?
"dude, did you think about checking out that snow-Disneyworld over there?"
world's greatest detective!
This is one of my all time favorite Batman stories
A lot of people agree with that claim.💁♂️
Ha
Your joker laugh at 1:04:13 was spot on
This arc was SO long, I appreciate the brisk pace you moved through most of the background noise that got resolved in a handful of issues, and slowed down a lot more for any of the interpersonal/Batfamily stuff.
Also, I love what big leather Daddy energy Batman is giving in this whole first half when he shows up in Gotham again. 😂 he’s all smacking people around and telling them to say his name and say that he’s in charge 😂 He better be careful cuz some guys might have a trap card -“jokes on you, I’m into that shit”😂like Joker lol
There was some good writing and art in No Man’s Land. I agree though, shit was way too long.
Comicstorian your what helped me get into comics again, and to only that but you are one of the best narrators I've ever listened to, you can do the voices, portray the emotions of the characters well, and do it all for free. You Truly are a blessing to broke Comic fans like me, I wish I could give you a tip for your work but I'm on a tight budget right now and I can't afford it, I want you to know that you have been a source of entertainment and just something fun to listen to while I study for school and I am very grateful for that.

@@lokeybinspazn5137how is this a L
It’s Monday and you know what that means….COMICSTORIAN FULL STORY TIME !!!
I hope one day we will get a Batman animated series based on No Man's Land.
I'm not so sure after Injustice. Not a big fan of DC recons and rewrites, and they almost never go beat for beat with the comic.
@@Syberz2red hood. The longest hlawwin. The dark nigth return?
@@imabarbiegay9863 All of those were in line with the new 52 DCAU (the people that made everything up until COVID.
I have no faith in a studio that can't make a movie better than a padded out set piece factory that the game turned out to be.
There's an arc in the Harley Quinn show on HBO Max that is kind of similar. Same premise and what not but quite different from this.
Beware The Batman had a No Man's Land arc, iirc. Super underrated show, btw.
All time favorite storyline that’s tied with Jeph Loeb and Tim Sales work, first series of graphic novels I ever collected starting from contagion
I wish I could give you a tip for your work but I'm on a tight budget right now and I can't afford it, I want you to know that you have been a source of entertainment and just something fun to listen to while I study for school and I am very grateful for that.
NML is one of my favorite DC stories. I've read the novelization multiple times over the years. One of these days I'll get the comics.
I just recently discovered your channel, I love what you're doing, helps my work night (graveyard shift) go by smooth.
Same here
Dude this is a actual novel I own! 430 pages of awesomeness! Highly recommended.
1:04:17 that was a really good Joker laugh man. Nice one! I’m watching this bit by bit when I get the time but it’s so good.
You are my favourite Story teller
Thank you so much!
@@comicstorian is so good
Slings and spears have and always will be my favorite weapons, these weapons have a kill count that is literally uncountable. They’ve both been used longer than bows and swords, but took a simple idea and revolutionized it.
My first experience with slings was a Lebanese neighbors father, he apparently grew up playing with them and for fun made me and his son one to mess around with.
Needless to say I was absolutely baffled when he let a shot loose and everything from the crack of the release, to the spin of the bullet, to the sound of impact left me stunned.
He went straight through the plywood he was aiming for, it was actually the moment that got me into ancient and classical history.
I've been asking you to make this a Full story for awhile. THANK YOU
You and that Joker laugh Benny... Makes my hair stand on end. Love it.
I own every issue of this story arc, great writing.
This just reminds me of Batman Arkham City
O have been sick in the hospital for awhile thank you for your videos keeping me entertained and uplifted
One of the better story lines and again thank you for this long form content.
Finally a good batman story. Make this a game. It can actually be a super long game.
Fun Fact Arkham city was partly inspired by no man’s land
@@jamesatkins5692 I can see that. Im a casual fan so im not deep into the lore.
@@jamesatkins5692i would have said arkham knight it feels more accurate
I remember this series and I was swept away. A Great time 4 comics all together... @Frank Miller's Hell and Back
Love this story, always love watching and rewatching it.
Best Batman story ever told. Thank you comicstorian!!
Awesome the Comic Book Story has arrived.
Probably my favorite batman story
😊😊p😊p😊
Oh man, this one's good. Thanks for making these mate.
Thank you for the long form content. This is the first time I'm seeing one of your videos and I just want to make sure I got it correct. In order to avoid copyright issues you're taking out the dialogue and are you just writing the summaries? Not only is your voice incredible and impactful but the writing is great. This is thoroughly enjoyable
This is one of my favorite stories
This was a marvelous story - easy to follow the subplots and an incredible interesting storyline.
Superman would of fixed the bridge and used his heat vision to detonate the 💣 on the lake in 10 minutes or less 🤔
That's why superman sucks as a hero for actual stories. He's too perfect. He's a way better and more interesting villain then he is as as purely good hero.. DC has way better street level heros in terms of characters and stories as opposed to their "galactic heros". Idk what else to call superman.
@Dave Davidson oh I know trust me I sometimes have to completely forsee myself to forget he exists so I can enjoy a story
@@davedavidson8208 Yup. The original comment is why this story is so stupid yet so good. There is no reason why Gotham would have fallen or can't be fixed. I just love the suspension of disbelief.
@@davedavidson8208 I wouldn’t say that
If Batman were to study magic he would have everything fixed in everyone brought back to life in about 5 minutes. Does that sound like an interesting story? Fuck no. It's a matter of plot convenience, The flash and Superman can't be everywhere all the time for the exact same reason Batman doesn't get magic, it f**** up almost every single story you were to ever try to tell
Thank you so much for doing this. I love this series of graphic novels and I love your videos so thank you
This is an awesome story. Defenitely inspired The Dark Knight Rises.
And kinda Arkham City
@@BasketCase420 but this story is way better then city
@@mgood356 i love both stories.
Which in turn inspired *Gotham* season 5...
I know lots of fans of the shows tend to rank the 5th season as one of the lowest, but it's mostly because it doesn't have as many episodes as the others, and the finale is kinda infuriating because it had enormous potential, but it was wasted when the showrunners decided to cram everything into a single episode instead of making it a two-parter, or even a "mini-trilogy".
Still, it doesn't change the fact that the "No Man's Land" part of season 5 was very well done, with the different factions lead by Penguin, Scarecrow, "Joker", Poison Ivy, Mother & Orphan, the Mutants (inspired by Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns"), the Soothsayers, the Undeads (inspired by the Neon Gang from Schumacher's Batman movies) etc...
the free-zone held by Lee Thompkins helped by Jim Gordon & Harvey Bullock and the cops that remained loyal to them, and of course Alfred and Bruce Wayne.
And of course the arrival of Bane, played by Shane West, and Nyssa al Ghul played by Jaime Murray, who made a duo that was, IMHO, almost as impressive as *TDKRises* considering the show's budget.
*Gotham* 's Nyssa was much cooler than Nolan's Talia, and even Bane was pretty cool for a low-budget show.
@@BasketCase420 😅😅😅😅please 😢😮😢😅3
Every video you post is so good I just love the story and your voice is accurate very nicely done.
You have such an amazing narration and voice. Never stop in whatever you're doing!
Loved this arc. Thanks for giving it some love!
Oh, thank God this is one of my favorites
Was only a tv and movie man now I can’t get enough thank you and love the full story ones to sleep to :)
Such a great story and well told
You're so much better than comics explained because you don't leave us hanging you actually let us know the ending
yes, yes been waiting for this
Such a wonderful story. Thank you for putting this together.
Always wanted to read this
Jim not killing the Joker for killing Sarah broke my heart, Jim should have done it
Blame the DC Comics Cooperate Narrative!!!
3:32:51 . Never threaten me again, cobblepot. You'll find I have ....Mercy. One of my favorite scenes in DC comics
Just bought No Mans Land Omnibus Vol 2 can't wait to get to this storyline in my Batman reading arc.
8th time around guy, I love the story and how you tell it! Keep up the great work. 👍🤘
This was amazing thank you
Amazing story benny💯
I would like to see Warner Brothers make batman no man's land into an anamatied movie
animated series with 40min episodes.... and at least 4 seasons
not with out Kevin Conroy
Definitely my favorite 90s batman storyline
Favorite Batman story of all time 🙏🏽
Gotham City gives me vibes to Night City from Cyberpunk 2077. It’s a ‘WILD’ city, but people still wish to live there, like this city always has a promise for it’s people, it may be a illusion or a lie but it’s there just around the corner and keeps the people going.
I love everything about this story
Edit: rest easy Kevin Conroy we lost a legend y'all 😞 the true Batman is gone
That man will always be the Batman 😭 RIP Kevin
And will you make video about the new star Trek Comic from ID Double You publishing?
Great video thank you so much me and my dad wie Red the story wants together thank you so much for making dead into video live long and prosper
I read this in novel form, and it was great.
I'm now getting it read by Comicstorian, who's Batman voice is iconic, by now, and it's goddamn Bat-tastic!
Yee... that was too 60s, but it will suffice for now lol
Dude, your batvoice is awesome
SUCH A GREAT STORY.
Biggest difference between this and a few of the manga recap channels ive found: this one actually narrates, while the others usually have a tts. Kinda ruins the story when its the same tone the whole video with every single typo read out loud. Thank you for putting effort into your narrations.
Not for nothin I hadn’t even watched this yet and seeing it inspired me to buy No Man’s Land so thx Benny lol🙌
NML was the first Batman comic I ever read. The storyline was long, had a lot of characters in it all playing a big role, too. Such great work by the writers and artists that did the comic, made me a huge Batman fan for life after reading it. You did great work with it, as well. Really brought it to life for me, and i appreciate the work and effort you put into creating this video. Thank you
9:47 did batman give them the finger lol
Finally got through the whole thing just now. I had actually read the novelization of this awhile back which was a fun read but they definitely cut out alot of the stuff from the comic storyline though so this was a fun listen.
Haven't listened yet, but hoping you've included Hitman comic where Tommy and his crew sit out No Man's Land at the Pub(and i believe fight off vampires)
Hey Benny, you should do Superman Warwold please, thatd be sick brah
A movie will not do this justice. They need to make an entire video game In similar fashion to the Arkham games
I love this story because it's not about who's going to help Batman but who's going to try to help Gotham despite Batman? But I also love how it retains Superman. He really wants to be Superman but he's far from Smallville and Metropolis to help save Gotham the way people can believe Batman would.....and did. But I love the dynamic of Batman and Superman's method of not trying to save the day but help.... although Batman is trying to help yet save the day.
In my country, this story was a literal comic brick
Batman: "What do you need to be strong again?"
Ivy: "What does any plant need?"
Batman: "I think I understand"
Batman drops his pants and squats down over Ivy's roots.
This was soooo good
1:23:46 “hipty hopety you child is my property”- Batman the owner of a new robin
Can’t wait for Batman eternal to be uploaded
It has been
Both batgirls looking thicc
9:30 "Rhubarb"😂 I think you mean Rebar
I wonder if BigECheese is friends with ratcatcher, if I was a villain who could control a rapper like that I’d be doing villainy to some “Mr Bombastic, mr fantastic”
Moral of the story Bruce got that Bat rizz
So much work and all good. Saved me mucho bucks
With all that went on in Gotham at that time, I'm surprised there weren't some residents who resorted to cannibalism. I guess that would've been too much for that storyline.
Batman: say my name!!!
*BREAKING BAT THEME STARTS PLAYING*
"Your bruce wayne"
This sewer child “Aragoth” that Tim recognizes from high school was DEFINITELY a theater kid😂
(-a former theater kid)
Could be a former D&D player as well but definitely agree with you
How would Batman villains fare in Psycho Pass?
Batman: "Catwoman, get me a burger."
Catwoman: "Forget about it."
Batman: (kisses her)
Catwoman: "You want fries with that?"
Do you think you can do the Superman: Up in the Sky story next time?
DC shoes is doing a Marvel Deadpool collaboration and there is an accompanying comic that I just read. It’s amazing
1:57:50 Nightwing is forklift certified
I love the part where the joker was like, “it’s over 9,000!”
Only minutes in and WOW!!
My favorite batman story
This storyline would be such a great game!
Especially with the nemesis and domination system from the shadow games
The whole story... for the whole story... I feel for Harold. What a guy.
Must read it again thanks
I would imagine Batman has a hard time getting through doors with those long ass spikes on top of his head
Neo Tokyo after Akira #28 wake up knock off...
You make audio dramas? Crazy I didn’t know you wrote this?!?
Insisting to heal Zsaaz maybe is one of the worst thing anybody has ever done.
Calling Batman "childish" for wanting to use some of the few recources they got is straight up stupid
Awesome
