  • In this video, I fabricate a skid plate to cover the transmission on my offroad lawnmower from some pieces of sheet steel original to the mower. It only costs me $10 and is very easy to put together to help protect the transmission from stumps, logs, and rocks busting the case open/in half. Something is better than nothing!

If you have any other ways on how you build your skid plates drop them below!

Im going to try and use the hitch off the back of a parts mower as a skid plate, because it is really thick and strong. I dont want to put a hole in my 820...

    That's legit!
Only thing id do is flip the bolts so they dont get caught up on anything. Or get like some lag bolts with the smooth heads.

My neighbor wants me to fix a ATV with some TLC and another one has a old Snapper sitting in his yard so there will be videos on that!

Great video my friend!! I love the channel name. I started building an off road mower out of a GT18 but I gave it to my friend to use and I should be getting it back soon. I love those twin opposed cylinders however not the vertical ones...Keep up the great work.
