Found your video looking for a review of the Vicount Cantorum Trio (coming from a classical music background), but hearing you play the legend I am kind of considering getting one of those, it just sounds so cool the way you play it.
My Lord, What an organ...I wish I had one, maybe in the future. Our church had a Hammond C2 that an AG church gave to us,(We're UPCI) but the organ started having issues with the tone generator, making it slur notes, then sometimes the leslie would start making noises at the weirdest of times while service was going on, so after the praise team and choir finished singing, we'd have to turn it off. It was too old and too much to fix so we sold it to some guy that wanted it to restore it.(Broke My Heart) but instead of getting another organ, they bought a keyboard and said," Here, this'll do much better." I just accepted it and kept my mouth shut. I wanted the Nord C2D at one point but our First Lady said, " Son, That Yamaha up there looks and sounds better anyway." So I digressed. I was ok with them getting the Yamaha Mo X8 but i wanted that Nord too with a 3300, but that request was shot down by the board because of cost. But thanks be to God, Your video of the Viscount Legend and the 3300 gave me hope and something to look into and purchase on my own.
I had the same experience. I bought my legend after seeing your videos from Hammond Central as well. Then Viscount didn't release the Vortex when they said they would, so I found a brand new used 3300 with a case for $2200 in Knoxville, TN. I love the combo. Now I'm going to download the new organs and demo them. Viscount for sure need to send you what you've asked for.
Thank you for actually reviewing this from a true organist perspective & actually knowing how to play an organ correctly!! All the other demos and reviews are terrible the and sound like they have never played an organ before🙏🏽
I bought the Legend and the Vortex 315! The Legend speaks for itself. However, I returned the Vortex because the rotor was rattling so loud it destroyed my confidence in the Viscount Vortex. My issue is not mutually exclusive to me. I was told that they aren’t being shipped properly and the bearings are getting damaged during shipping. I am sure the issue will be perfected in the near future. Nonetheless, I ordered a brand new 3300 and I anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new beast! I enjoy all of your videos, especially this with the Leslie 3300. Thank you for sharing your expertise!
@@cliffjhun_music After reading your post it validates what I experienced. I only paid $277.00 more for the Leslie 3300 and it works and sounds like a 122! I didn’t realize that I had paid $300.00 dollars more for the red colored Vortex. I bought the 3300 that is housed in the black case with castors. I already have two Leslies with wooden cases. Hammond Suzuki has mastered the production of the 3300.
Same. I returned the first one i got, exchanged it for another vortex (which i waited for them to ship) and second one has the same problem. Real bummer because the Vortex has some nice features (with the presets and editability), but now i'm buying a 3300.
Bishop, thank you so much for telling me that i need a leslie 1122 kit. I have an 11 pin cable and I went to an organ shop (I asked him if I could pair a viscount with a 122 and he had no idea what a Viscount was) but he told me that a Viscount would not be compatible with it because it was 11 pin and the leslie 122 is 6 pin. Thank you for informing me doc💯
Hello bishop, my name is corey. I want to thank you so much for the introduction of the viscount legend organ. What do i need to hook up to a leslie? Once again thank you.
I have the viscount legend but I don't have a leslie, but I would love to have one so that I can get that sound, I don't know what leslie have the 11 pin hook up.
A. the Leslie should be used as a "stage" monitor... B. the organ should be through the PA... C. no mention about the volume pedal... D. play on brother!
Please correct me if I'm wrong. The Leslie 3300 does not have an output for the rotary effect to allow direct recording to an audio interface (such as an Apollo or Focusrite) without using mics? But the Hurricane 210 does? The 3300 sounds better in my opinion but if the Hurricane allows the rotary effect to be directly recorded without mics, it has a major advantage over the 3300.
Hello and thanks for your comment. Yes the 3300 does not have direct output jacks, but that's by design. It was made to make the vintage Leslie portable and it added a lot of the updated safety regulations, like the 11pin and voltage grounding. (Hurricane 210)But even if you come out of the Hurricane 210, you are only getting the signal from the instrument that you have plugged into it. That output jack is a thru output jack. It's not changed by the Hurricane at all. Let me know if this have helped you.
@@samuelbutts7802 Oh my so the Hurricane only a thru for the instrument attached! Well that changes everything. I just looked closeley at the 3300 user guide and it actually does have an output but it's like the Hurricane and only a thru. Thanks for the info! One more question: Does it make sense to buy an HX3 just to have the rotary effect going directly to an audio interface? Is that a waste of money or is the HX3 so great it's worth it?
@@samuelbutts7802 I have a Nord C2D and access to a Leslie 3300. I want to record directly into an Apollo with rotary effect and not have to mic the Leslie 3300. You have taught me it won’t do me any good to get a Hurricane. I know I could use the Nord as a controller for organ/rotary software but I need to know if a module like HX3 sounds more authentic.
The Hx3 will sound more vintage, like 1966 backwards to the 1950's. It has many different organs in it itself. Red caps, clean and dirty. The Hx3 is a beast. But I'm more fund of the older version than the newer one. The older one will have the smaller USB port on the back. The newer ones will have the lager one. The older one you can use it like a stand alone instrument. The newer one, you will need a computer to access the most common menus on the unit. 😊 why aren't you satisfied with the Nord output into your interface?
The update you refer to for soul is not available for the old viscount legend? Accordion to viscounts website and download options anyway. Let me know where you saw the, saying it was for legend and not just soul. Thanks for this video

Wonderful playing, and really nice sounds. Does the Legend have an internal Leslie simulator? If so, how does that sound?

Hello Bishop can I get this sound with just the 3300 Leslie speaker without the hurricane
The Hurricane brings an element to the sound that you just don"t get from just playing with the leslie alone.
