This was a 5 minute advertisement. I didn't hear a single negative line or note any compromise.
I have questions about the screen brightness, colour accuracy, battery life, max GPU TGP, keyboard feel, quality of the LEDs, gaming customisation, MUX switch..... Need more depth
I got it for 2 months.I played lots of games with it Performing really well 👌
bro, what do u think about build quality, some people told me the build quality is quite bad, plastic, bla bla bla,..do u think it is worth to buy for long term use ?
@@atapa3177 I think the build quality is soilid. Feels gritty not plastic.
@@atapa3177definitely worth it long term use if you dont go overclocking the device or atleast dont max your performance everytime, this is just an theory of mine but with power saving mode it can go about 7 hours or more
@@maruf7956which model? rtx 4050?
@@bitit_boy no rtx 3060
I got mine recently, KE version, 12th gen i5 with 3060 115W. also, I was surprised mine came with a 240Hz screen! on the information it mentioned 144Hz. The temps are great, too! it does go above 90c for CPU only in some games, but never stays there, most of time under 85c.
The type c on the back is not Thunderbolt. The ones on the side is, 40 gbps. Also, it comes with MUX, but I think with the 3060 model only. Windows have no bloatware, too.
Update 1 2023 July 11:
Don't expect much from the battery, I only used it for watching movies, and last around 2 hours, I think. But it was on entertainment mode, maybe power saving would last more.
The Ram is upgradeable. It's ddr4. At first, I didn't have a problem because I bought hyperX 3200mhz ddr4, and it was okay and compatible with the factory's other stick. Both are 3200mhz. But suddenly, I started seeing the blue screen of death all the time, I formatted, cleaned, and fresh copy of Windows 11 Home, but still the same. So I figured out it was the Ram from the errors "was multiple errors. This is why I was confused unless diagnosing it." Then it turns out it's the HyperX ram making this problem even when I used it alone on both slots. "The factory stick was working ok alone on both slots." So I found the same ram from Samsung and bought it. Now it's working great!
Just an advice, replace the thermal paste once you buy it! It will make a huge difference in temps, the factory one is bad.
Update May 2024:
I replaced the thermal paste with grizzly, then MX6, then lastly ptm7950. ptm7950 is great!
The charger still gets hot, of course, but it's still working so far.
There are no issues so far.
Thank you for the review but have you noticed the charger overheating, because somewhere I read that last year model turned off after the charger overheated. Asking because I just purchased the same model 😁.
PavFlexz BG I haven't checked it yet. I keep it on the floor all the time. Will check today and let you know. but so far, I haven't got any issues with it yet. power seems ok on performance mode. I played warzone for 30-50 minutes.
PavFlexz BG Which model you got? 3050 or 3060? yours also have 240hz screen?
@@SymphoColors So I purchased the 3060 model but on the website it said that it has a 144hz screen. I'm waiting for it to arrive (2-5 days) but I hope to also get 240hz like you. Gotta wait it out...
PavFlexz BG I tested it now. The charger warms up but doesn't have any issue with the performance. maybe I need to do long gaming sessions. After tomorrow, I have a weekend and all day free.
Also, about the refresh rate, it's kinda concerning to me, I mean, even after I searched the full model number on the box, nothing came with 240hz. I have two guesses, one is they have a special model for the region Im currently in "South East Asia, Philippines" Im staying here on vacation and the shop have it have warranty and can modify on it authorized from gigabyte. but my unit came sealed, I even ran to the shop, and they were surprised too it have 240hz. They said the spreadsheet gigabyte gave them says 144hz only. my other guess is, Gigabyte never mentioned each specs individually. They have the lowest specifications on their website. They just mentioned RTX on the main page and 144hz and i5 12th gen.
If Im not mistaken, RTX 3050 and 3050ti model have max 144hz, 3060 have 240hz. also, I think only 3060 model "KE" have MUX switch and Thunderbolt 4, I could be wrong.
I also have a wild guess that they made a special version for this location and used older screens from their older 2021 model, I think that old model had 240hz screen also.
All in all, if yours doesn't come with 240 but 144, don't be sad, I mean 240hz is overkill under playing light and old titles and can push very high framerates, else RTX 3060 is not that capable more than 90-100fps in most games, even in Warzone Im getting 70-90 on Ultra, 90-100 in balanced. so 144hz is all you need, I can’t think anything else for a 240hz.
I'm not gamers, is it suitable to use gaming laptop for daily office usage? With 1 or 2 VMs for learning?
If you still haven't decided, I'd like to tell you that, yes, it is suitable for daily office usage. It has good performance, but only a decent screen, so maybe connect to an external monitor. You can take it on the go, but you may want to stay plugged in whenever possible. It also has a very muted gamer aesthetic so hopefully it won't draw stares.
RJ45 being on the right side is a deal breaker
all new laptop models have the RJ-45 on the right
paid 549 for mine
In usd no way you can have that price
@@hoangnguyenminh1901 i bought mine for 550 usd on black friday. u will not find any better price for a 3050 ti

@@Sliced_cheese98 how long have you had ur laptop and from which bios version did u upgrade it if i may ask?
Is this better? or the Gigabyte A5 or the Gigabyte G7? Please Answer me. ❤🕊
hey, its been 2 months since this video and now the 2023 with 4050 wondering if you could make a review on it? (not sure if its available in your country)
Lighting situation in your review is cool
I've had the older G5 MD model and upgrade it (only thing not up to date is an intel 11th gen cpu), its amazing so far! First time having a
gaming laptop, so I' still not used to the short battery life!
The short battery life worries me 😅 I’m used to my (dying) MacBook, which I charged every day or two at most. Does it still feel worth it to you?
@@TenmaWhite I'd say about 3 to 4 hours. The battery isn't that big so do expect less.
@@NoOneAlive_with power saving mode or performance mode?
gigabyte g5 ge or acer nitro 5, which is better
Gigabyte
@@jesicaerich619true gigabye, since acer nitro 5 has poor battery than gigabyte if you check on benchmark.
i remember seeing this desktop wallpaper he has on the laptop, can anybody tell me where can i get it
Can I Ask You A Question? Iphone 13pro or mirrorless camera for videography what should I buy?
A camera will always be better than a smartphone
There are video makers that use iphones with a gimbal and get awesome results, but the display on iphones is just too good (and small, so require less resolution too look high resolution) and not the display everyone uses, I remember how my 4th generation ipod felt so good with the camera, then you shift to PC and notice the quality. Iphone is ok for something seen from a phone, like ads, but to make a short movie for a big screen I think you're compromising comfort for quality
Portability and flexibility I'd go with iphone. But if you wanna be heavily creative in photography or videography go with mirrorless, it's more future proof. Smartphones degrade their camera software whenever a new model comes out.
Thank you Guys ❤️
camera is expensive but i think good
13 pro is also good but for only video work i think camera
awesome review ...
Thank you!! Glad you like it! 😁
Please try to mention the GPU TDP in your videos
3060 runs at 115w (max)
3050 runs around 80w ig
Upgradeable storage?
it has another ssd slot so upto 2 tb ssd
This Review is lacking , you didn't even run , the Gigabyte control center application which has many features of customizing your laptop performance and keyboard lights and much more
When gaming, do you keep the charger plugged in even its already on 100%?
You do with every gaming laptop.
yes ofcoures, because if u game on battery life the will not give power to gpu, and u will notice some fps drop
make sure to plugged in when gaming
Does it have any power cut off when it reaches certain percent? Acer has 80% battery limit (takes power from ac when battery reaches 80%, lenovo has 65 or was that 55% battery limit then takes power off from the ac directly)
is it better to remove battery and directly plug?
@@nuketurnal2 if your laptop doesnt have charging limits, then yes
Does the Gigabyte G5 i5 11th Gen have the Pantone screen colour rating?
does it has miux switch if i connect external monitor will it connect to dgpu now I have idepad gaming 3 but with external monitor is connected to amd gpu
Where to turn on the mux switch
The one with the new 4060 is out but limited to 75 watt is it good
power too low for high end gpu
yes i use it great performance
Is it possible to customize keyboard rgb to different colors at the same time? Or it's just one color at a time?
iirc budget gigabytes only have blue backlighting (like msi with red backlighting)
you can , he didn't open the most important built in software of the laptop , Gigabyte control center It's not mentioned in all videos , there you can control , fans speed , performance mode or silent mode , for less noise of fans , you can set the KEYBOARD color , add Keyboard Macros , adjust at what % the battery should start charging etc.
My Gigabyte G5 GE last only an 1:30hrs while on power saving mode, any same issues out there?
Hi. Could you give me more details? Was it under a heavy workload or smthg?
The most crappy review I've ever watched
0 talking about the non ips screen, or about the crappy speakerers but at least he talked about the bad battery life.
does this laptop have a hdd slot?
no ssd and 2 m.2 nvme
Yes it have one 2.5
no HDD slot
How is build quality of gigabyte g5 ke
I have the exact same laptops, it runs well, the build quality is nice, but it does get loud tho because the fans are powerful
I have this model and i think the build quality is solid
Does anyone know what the TGP is for the 3060 i5-12500h model? I cant find it anywhere
you didn't search it properly.... 115 W according to gigabyte website
Can this be charged by a pwerbank?
I think so.. if it’s the right power bank and stuff everything should be able to get charged by power bank
