  • In this slightly longer back-to-basics video, we will be diving into cloth physics in Blender. We will try to touch on the bulk of the settings and what they do. In later videos, we will look at some specific use cases.

Glad you liked it! I am still trying to find the best balance of how deep to go or how many hard examples to do in this series. I've got some breakout ideas for videos on specific cloth ideas to come later.

@@JohnnyMatthews For what it's worth this is my kind learning. The blender button names are inscrutable to me. They seem like a bunch of secret handshakes between computer nerds.

Yeah absolutely. Many of these modules were written against physics libraries, or scientific papers. They used the terminology from those libraries/papers without really taking into consideration UI/UX. Blender devs have been trying really hard in the last few years to bring a focus to UI/UX. But there are certainly areas that need some TLC.

Just gained a sub, you are lot more organized and well spoken than some other blender channels.

Thanks, I appreciate it! That is definitely one of the things I shoot for. I know I may not be as exciting as some channels, but hopefully I'm informative, easy to understand, and thorough! :)

Johnny your stuff is crazy good to catch up on - i have a pretty good idea of how many of the modifiers work, but your back to basics series are doing a great job of explaining each setting, and really helping you understand the settings and how they work! Great series!

Well thanks for watching anyway! The cloth sim is really helpful for a lot of things. I'm gonna be doing some tips videos on some specific uses soon.
