If someone told me that this was a cover from a song in the mid 70s, I would believe them. They captured the sound perfectly from that era in this song. Can’t wait for them to perform this live

This is my favorite track on the whole album..brings me back to Bobby Womack and Donny Hathaway songs...just beautiful old soul and R&B! This has to be the collaboration
of the decade~ Anderson is a beast on the drums. The paradiddles where Andy goes from 12 strokes to triplets is what this piece needed and the drum rolls were otherworldly. Enjoyed your reaction immensely! Keep on pluggin' away to 300,00 Subs man!

Can't decide between this one and Blast Off. Album of the decade until now.
The crazy part is that Blast Off isn’t even in my top 5, and it’s still a 9.5/10. What an insane album. Idk if it competes with After Hours for me simply due to emotional attachment, but wow this album is incredible

Such a well done piece of artistry. The lead vocals are truly masterful. Anderson .Paak's voice is so intense and just perfect here. Bruno Mars vocals don't fail to keep me enthralled. And those harmonies! Damn, yeah to me, this song is worthy of SOTY. But then I could see it actually running against another song on this album. Beautiful vocals and Anderson just killing it on drums! Perfection!

the thing i love about put on a smile is at the end when bruno hits those notes it feels like there's a break in it intentionally so it sounds like a cry, a cry for help, a wail, it's so jarring and beautiful to listen to.

Gives me Tower of Power; So Very Hard To Go vibes for sure. Like others here, I was blessed to grow up in the 70s/80s. This album is like home; house parties parents hosted, weekend BBQs, car club cruising, moms putting on false lashes getting ready for dance, platforms, wide wing collars and Old Spice. This album was made during the pandemic.. they were not pressured to produce hits because the last time they released their last album was x years ago or anything like that… bruno mars and .paak just jammed. This was organically created outta luv know what im sayin??? That’s why its so flawless... its a celebration of two men of the music that they grew up on / influenced them as human beings

I agree, but also, I would probably need extra therapy after that. The emotions after just hearing it are sometimes too much to handle, not sure I could make it through the video. It's just surreal how flawless this track is.

I think everyone here has missed something huge.....If you've seen the show live in Vegas ( I amazingly and gratefully have had the honor of seeing them twice at the Park Mgm) you would know that how when our boy here, 3rdErnest, talked about his "Vision" for a Video for this song, he totally nailed it. When they perform this 15 minute extendo jam live it's got the rain, 3 of them sitting in a dark theatre, sad as shit, with a rainy background singing their asses off. I'm a 777 guy but when they performed this live it became my top 1 or 2 song.....But then you have that amazing intro/jam live, Blast Off, Fly as Me, Smokin & Skatin &.....................& I'm just trying to "Put on a Smile" that Silk Sonic plays live again cause please!!! Buy a Ticket, Seriously! You need to see them live!
