We own an 18 QV and an 18 Stelvio TI Sport. 24K miles on the QV and 30K miles on the Stelvio. Zero issues with each. The driving experience in both is pure bliss.
my 18 QV has been causing me issues lately as I think my prior water leak issues may have caused electrical problems now. Car towed twice this week.but now I am trying to replace it with a 2021 model in red lets see if this happens in the coming weeks.
I have a 2019 Stelvio Sport TI. Pretty happy with it. The minor issues I have had are insignificant compared to the joy of driving it. Best bang for the lira
Rarely ever see these cars on the road! Spotting one here in the US is like spotting an Aston Martin for some reason! Either they’re really that rare or simply not very popular!
Lucky man, my Stelvio had replaced all injectors twice. Now at 75k km I went on vacation with Audi. Because driving alfa in emergency mode is not fun 😔
I have a 2020 TI sport and I love it! Its my daily driver and I have 13000 miles on it. I have the red interior, dark gray exterior and I have had no issues with my car so far 🙏. Thank you for sharing your experience. It is helpful as to things to look for or not. Love this car! ❤
Just purchased (not a lease) a 2021 TI Sport Stelvio in Silverstone Gray/Red about 2 weeks ago. Your 1 year review had a lot to do with my decision in buying one. I had done 2 months of research prior to stumbling upon your 1 year review, which sealed the deal for me. But I'm so nervous about the potential issues I've been reading about... that I'm taking as many precautionary measures as I can. Going to change the battery (Interstate) in about 5 months to ready it for winter... changing tires (I love Toyo tires), going to have someone custom install a mesh layer of steel behind the grill, and powder coat black to help combat rocks damaging the radiator. Also going to do a PPF on vulnerable areas, Got it with 7 miles on it, has 516 currently. Hopefully the Stelvio will be good to me. Your Stelvio still looks good!
make sure on the battery that it will work on this car according to specs I know I have attempted to swap batteries on Porsche abd BMW cars with aftermarket only to cause major electrical issues so we switched back. Enjoy your Stelvio and just keep an eye on things like I mention in this video, My car is a 2019 and the newer ones have many updates since.
@@autofanaticcars Definitely going to keep an eye on all things mentioned, and I like many I'm sure... appreciate you brother! I'm in NYC as well, and I understand what you meant about the last winter we had, and what it did to the roads here. As for the interstate battery... someone on Stelvio forum mentioned a specific Interstate battery.. I believe (AGM). Going to look into it more. Definitely enjoying the Stelvio! Thanks!!
Excellent video! I’m coming up on 2 years ownership of my Stelvio Ti Sport and I’m still leaning more towards getting another recent MY Stelvio over the alternatives, so was glad to hear your take is similar! Driving this thing is a superlative experience and I tip my hat to the Alfa engineers who made an SUV handle like this.
After 2 years and 4 months I'm still in love with my Stelvio TI Sport. So much so that I have a Stelvio QV coming soon. Best driving car I've ever owned.
@@autofanaticcars Can’t wait to see it! I stuck with black. I just love the blacked out look and I couldn’t wait for the gold color. Glad I didn’t given all that was taken away for 2022.
Both you and I ha purchased our cars around the same time. I believe within a week or two. I have had no issues with my Stelvio other than my fuel door relay needing replacement. I currently have just shy of 17,000 miles on it as of 01/31/21. I have been very satisfied with the cars overall performance. I purchase it with the Visconti Verde paint with the chocolate interior with yellow calipers. I get a lot of attention with that combo. Thanks for the two year review, Greg.
Have a 2019 Stelvio Ti Sport and still absolutely LOVE this car. Lease is up soon and I'll either buy it (only 8k miles!) or lease a new one. Only minor software updates. No mechanical issues at all. Best driving/handling SUV out there with the best design/proportions.
I had my Stelvio for 3+ years (39 month lease). While there were some similar quirks as in the video, I absolutely loved everything about the car - looks, driving dynamics, practicality, etc. It also didn't hurt that people constantly came up to me to compliment the car. My Dad even switched to a Stelvio after being a lifelong Mercedes/BMW owner (he essentially got the same spec as me!). Aside from the great driving characteristics, he constantly remarks how SOLIDLY built they are (no rattles, etc.). So, since I couldn't have two of the same cars showing up to our family functions, I decided to get a Giulia Ti Sport for my next lease. I've been driving this car for almost 2 months and I think I love this car more than the Stelvio. The speed and handling are fantastic (and again, I seem to get constant attention in the car). Alfa has some really solid gems on their hands - I just hope they don't replace them for EV's. Thanks for putting these videos out!
I have a 2020 Stelvio Red on Red with Yellow calipers fully loaded with the leather uppers. My third Alfa. The other two were Giulia’s. All TI Sport’s. It get the service throttle body alert often and have had to replace the junk OEM battery at 8,000 miles with no help from Afla. Alfa emailed me to say they couldn’t warranty the battery unless it was diagnosed at the dealership 50 miles away. I figured I saved Alfa a tow bill after AAA said the battery wouldn’t take a charge and replaced it myself. You would think since I bought 3 Alfa’s in a year I would be a good customer, not so much! I had to pay for the new battery. Now at 12,000 miles I still get the service throttle body but it resets when I turn the ignition off (for now). Other than those 2 issues the Alfa is by far the best driving vehicle I’ve owned and I have had quite a few !
yeah the biggest issue with Alfa is the service and dealer and corporate support SUCK big time. Was your battery a drop in and no programming needed to be done and did you install an interstate or oem? its such a shame how badly run Alfa is thanks to Stelantis
Both the dealer and corporate acted like they never heard a bad word about Varda batteries. I read on the posts constantly about battery issues. I truly believe the Varta battery has hurt Alfa’s reliability score.! I don’t know why they continue to use them. To answer your question it was a Duralast H7 AMG (AutoZone) it was the only auto store open that late in the evening. It was plug and play. The back latch closed and I had to climb through the back seat to install the extremely heavy ass battery in 40 degree weather at 60 years old. I was cussing Alfa big time. I told the dealer if I turn the car (SUV) in at the end of my lease I’m taking MY $200.00 battery out of my (sticker) $59,000 dollar Alfa.
Your 1yr review was really helpful in my decision to get a 2020 TI Sport. I got a Red on Red with yellow brake combo in November 2020. Love the car and haven’t had an issues. I would def recommend Alfa to anyone considering getting one.
I have a 2018 Stelvio and just hit 50,000 miles. It has been remarkably reliable for all this time. I’ve had no major issues and regular maintenance has been relatively inexpensive, compared to my GTI and WRX which run into thousand of dollars. I wish I had a spare tire but that well has been taken up by the battery planted right in the middle. It is my only complaint about the car. It’s my daily driver and I absolutely love the experience.
thanks fore sharing I am doing a 4 year ownership video in a few days on our 2019 Stelvio Ti Sport. I also just bought a 2023 Stelvio Veloce to replace it because the warranty is up and we just want something new right now but its been great so far no major issues as all.
@@autofanaticcars I just saw one in red at an Alfa dealership and I had to leave before I did something crazy - like buy it on the spot. Very impressed with the refresh and tech on it while still managing to keep it “old school” enough for pure driving enjoyment. I hope you’re thrilled with yours!
We just added a 2021 Stelvio to our car family on Memorial Day. It's now my wife's daily driver and wow do we LOVE this car! Not only does this car turn heads BUT it is also insanely fast for an SUV. Watching her smile behind the wheel makes me happy too that we got what HAS to be the best kept secret in car badge decision purchases. (She initially wanted a Porsche but instantly wanted the Stelvio after she saw the red interior scheme and black wheel etc package) I'd definitely recommend this SUV guys if your wife is wanting an SUV. There's nothing like it!!
I bought the first Blue Misano QV in my country 4.5 years ago. With the different quirks, it's like a close relative that annoys you sometimes... but in the end you still love him/her... 🙂 Out of all the cars I've owned so far... it's the best driving car ever!
Gave up my 2018 Stelvio TI Sport last week after two years. I loved driving it, but the warranty was coming to an end soon and it had already needed replacement throttle box and radiator, so I could imagine it potentially getting expensive to maintain in future. The nearest place to get it serviced was more than two hours away, which ended up being too inconvenient, so I opted to trade it in for something that I can get serviced locally. The Stelvio is a lovely car, and great fun to drive: I just wish it had been more reassuringly reliable and convenient to service.
Same issues with my 2019 Stelvio, the newest thing is the Multi air unit needs to be replaced. I going to get it fixed and pick up the new Porche Macan. I will never purchase another Alfa, trust me I really loved the look and driving the car. It’s not reliable.
I have 2017 Giulia Ti. 40K miles never back to dealer for anything other than software update recall. I hear the Quads are high maintenance, but the 2.0T ones are like Toyota Camrys so far...
So somebody hit your ride and you are calling it "quirks" in the car? I agree with the low fuel indicator. It comes on at a 1/4 of a tank on my 2018 Stelvio. I love the ride though. I had a 1974 Spider when I was in high school in the 80's. This is my second Alfa but not my last!! Cheers. Great video.
July will be two years for our Stelvio Lusso. We love the car! I’ve had a couple of software updates done, had similar issue with oil level readings, also in my Giulia, both about this time last year when weather started getting hot??... battery was replaced under warranty a month ago. They are great looking cars and I’m starting to see more and more of them on the roads.
To be honest even my Old Mercury has trouble when summer comes along. I think it has to do with extra engine load for the AC. I live in FL and AC puts one hell of a load on a engine.
Bit over 2 years in, 80'000 km, mainly mountain roads, 7.2 l diesel (210 ps) consumption. A frigging pleasure. I already know that I'm addicted to the 12:1 steering ratio (go-karty-like), the low weight and the 50:50 weight distribution. It's just pleasure. And sorry ... but this car has the best 'arse' of all cars right now - to me.
Getting the Sprint version for the reason of having smaller 18-inch wheels, which will give the ride quality the perfect balance between sportiness and comfort.
I have the same Ti sports 2018 brand new. Now today is 1/31/2022 20,000 miles. 2020 I had my windshield cracked and they had to import it from Italy which took about 6 months. The good news is it was installed by Safelight glass at WestHartford in Ct, they did a perfect job no issues. The only thing I have noticed is when you leave it parked for weeks the breaks acts funny. Mine is the same blue color with black interior. I love it. Mine doesn’t have and spare tire
Nice review! I’ve had my Giulia Ti Sport for over 3 years now and no major issues. Did have an oil level issue due to the slowness of the sensor to provide a correct level readout. Basically, I added too much oil when topping it up. Other than having to recalibrate the sunroof (did it myself) and a quirk with the door mirrors not staying in the correct preset positions (dealer warranty fix), I’ve had no other issues. Great car and glad I bought it.
I have this same car same colour with the limited addition black diamond 20 inch wheels, remapped it and fitted a bmc filter, the performance is so good all youl wana drive is an alfa
From Australia and have the diesel variant with the Veloce pack. Had it for all but 2 years. never had any issues at all, doesn't use oil and no electric problems. Had the windscreen replaced about 3 months ago and no issues there. I'm a photographer in a rural area and drive on all types of road conditions and it is amazing, even dirt roads are smoothed out and the ride is way way better than my previous drive ( BMW X5 ). couldn't be happier and will upgrade to the 2021 version soon
Proud owner of the stelvio speciale stunning car drives great handles like no other car ive owned 16,000 smiles so far 3 year old, only problem was the battery changed at service to new name and no issues leaving the car standing a month at a time pure bliss
Speaking on behalf of personal experience with glass insurance, insurance companies will not pay out for OEM glass replacement. You can choose to use OEM glass but you will end up paying the difference. However, the forward collision sensor needs to be recalibrated by the dealer and insurance companies will cover the cost. Again, this is based off my own experience. Hope this helps!
yes Allstate said aftermarket i can not believe China knocks off even glass for an Italian car that has such a small market share I mean a Honda i can see it but an Alfa i thought was very odd. Safelite did the calibration but it did not work no idea what is involved but it in way impairs the vehicle for us to still use.
I have Geico and they did pay for OEM because Safelite couldn’t recalibrate the aftermarket windshield. I got the same code when they put the aftermarket in.
@@kelvinwashington6593< same here on my Audi Q7. They put the knock-off windshield in, and the heads-up display was blurry. Called Geico and took it back to Safelite and got an OEM windshield. Also, Audi recalibrated the lane centering because Safelite could not do a 4 wheel alignment after replacing the windshield. The camera system must match the tire alignment perfectly, or you get lane keep errors. Drives perfect now with zero drive assist notifications. In closing, there is a difference between OEM and non-OEM windshields.
I have had my Stelvio QV for two years coming up at the end of July, only thing I have had to get done on it really was recently radiator had to be replaced, started getting coolant smell and dealer replaced it. These are so much fun to drive, QV model definitely takes corners like it was riding on rails. I ended up driving mine on a set of Ti Sport model wheels with Michelin PS A/S 3+ as my winter tires, great combination and they fit perfectly over the bigger brake calipers on the QV.
I have a '21 Stelvio Ti Sport new since Apr, custom ordered, Alfa white over black, red interior. I've had people run across parking lots to compliment me, what it was, it's gorgeous, etc. Owners of hi-line autos asking questions. Yeah it commands presence. Love it. Coming from 30+ years of Audi ownership it's a pleasure to drive a machine that does not consistently under steer. One ugly problem was a dead battery almost from new, 2X until it was replaced under warranty. I'm shocked how easy it is to drive quick. FTW.
Hey, yet another awesome video! Not a Stelvio owner but Giulia Veloce (Ti) and the car is great, love it. Bought it 4 years and 56k miles ago and it has been very reliable, no major issues whatsoever. Small issues like coolant leak (quick o-ring seal replaced) or fuel cap replacement. Apart from those small things nothing. Really cool dynamic daily driver. Soon to be replaced with Stelvio Q in Ocra GT Junior or new green.
Go Pedal fixed the pedal lag for me 100% in my Stelvio. You can get a Bluetooth model or manual model. I also installed a cold air intake and it the combo made this a much quicker and better sounding vehicle for around $500 to $600 bucks!
We just had the same issue with the a windshield replacement. We were out of state when we had it replaced and all the sensors went off. My husband made it to the dealership for a last-minute appointment an hour late to have it recalibrated. Apparently, there are some glass replacement companies that know how to recalibrate the windshield glass so you don't have to go to the dealer. (We found that out after we made it home).
Imo, a windshield replacement must also be calibrated. In my area in Maryland, safe light does not calibrate. I have a Macan and I had to let the dealer replace it so it can also be calibrated
As a safelite employee, your camera (located under the rear view mirror) is supposed to be recalibrated after the replacement of the windshield to realign your camera. Any issues arriving from camera after the installation can come back to be recalibrated again correctly if need be. OEM can be installed but would have to pay the difference
I’ve driven my 19 Stelvio TI Sport for 40K miles. Madness ECU and GoPedal, just today put R1 Concepts rotors and pads on. This car has been fantastic! Never broken down, only a couple tiny/microscopic issues. Why is the key fob so cotton picking big? I hit the panic button 50% of the time the key is in my pocket. Like you I will replace it with a Stelvio QV. I did the aftermarket hitch and use it every day. Absolutely invaluable to me. No Tonale, too small. I have an Abarth for fun. Great vid, like always
Just wanted to let you know I’m having the same issue with the key fob hitting the panic button or do you have to do is lightly touch it through my pocket and it sets it off they should make a cover to put over it so you can’t do that
We test drove a gorgeous Verde Visconti Stelvio Ti Sport with tan leather and yellow calipers. Unfortunately the combo of 20 inch wheels and fixed dampers was just too firm for our daily duty and we couldn't find one with adaptive suspension within 500 miles. Also found it odd that I seemed to have less head room up front than my Giulia? Still an amazing value, unique vehicle.
yeah the adaptive shocks are very hard to find and funny thing when I bought this Stelvio 2 years ago there were a bunch of Lusso models that had the adaptive shocks but we wanted the Nero sport pack.
Thanks for all the comments, this is helpful . I am trading in my Q60 and seriously considering this vehicle. I just was not sure if this car is reliable because the price is so affordable and don’t know much about Alfa Romeo. Going to do a test drive today and make my final decision.
the Macan is awesome but much more expensive and if you lease it for 3 years a nicely equipped Macan will cost double the monthly payment. then you need to ask yourself is the Macan double the car? absolutely not.
@@autofanaticcars I've ben looking at a Macan for a while now and never really considered the AR. And while both are not seen that often on the road, I concur with the price point comment you make. TVM
My wife has an 18 Sport, she absolutely loves it. She loves to look at it lol. She's not a car person at all. 4 people in the Stelvio and out drags an F30 328i with 1 person. Looks and drives amazing.
Over 3 years on my 2018 Giulia with 41k miles car has been flawless other than few software updates and new battery. Just got a 2021 Stelvio as well love the cars
A dipstick is a weird omission. I have an Alfa Romeo 159 ti Sportwagon here in the UK. As soon as I start the car up, it displays your oil level for a couple of seconds, quite accurate and handy - and I have a dipstick as well to be on the safe side.
We have an early 2018 Stelvio and a 2019 Giulia QV. So far no problems. I too noticed that the oil indicator seems to suck and that the gas gauge seems to empty quickly once it reaches 1/4 tank.
The " creases" on Stelvio's right rear quarter panel are NOT a actual damage. Do not try to "repair" them. The real reason why these light panel deformations appear ( they are more evident in cold weather, in summer are almost invisible) is that on the innerside Alfa sprayed 3 strips ( about 4-5cm wide) of bitumen-like sound deadening material. The long creases we see on the outerskin is the metal left uncovered by the sound/vibration dampening strips. This exposed metal, because it is very thin, expands and contracts differently, and becomes most noticeable when cold, as it appears to be lightly " dented". I am sorry to say but texhnically is a very poor and unfortunate approach to apply sound deadening material on a car. But....don't try to fix it. Greetings from Romania!
thank you for commenting on this its so strange how this happened. We have not had the PDR guy look at it yet but now I will tell him about the sound proof material maybe it can not be corrected. poor design for sure then
the Stelvio handles NYC well but it does ride a bit stiff and sporty that may not appeal to everyone. the new 2022 Veloce versions ride much smoother than the Ti Sport we have. go take them for a test drive to see what you like best.
So i ended up getting the a 2018 ti sport model. I was referring to this video when asking all the questions at the dealership. much appreciate it i love it so far. I’m watching this with my lady now. Thanks again for the advice and vid
Have a Giulia 2017 also Monte Carlo Blue but tan interior and have had no oil burning or oil level issues. I agree brakes are touchy with the brake by wire but really work when you need them. Throttle lag can be an issue but I have gotten used to it, many people get a piggy back on the throttle which supposedly helps reduce the lag but has not been enough of an issue for me to try it. Many car with drive by wire have weird accelerator dynamics. Love my Giulia.
Hi Paul , I have a Giulia Ti and have added a madness go pedal and Max power pro and for the $$ the car is now closer to a QV than a Super. Definitely try the Go Pedal.
UPDATE: Getting close to 50K... currently at 49,185 miles for a little over 5 years now. Best SUV I've ever driven and no major engine issues at all. Only annoying issue I had was having to replace (under warranty) the battery twice in the first two years but other than that, the Alfa Romeo's Stelvio is a real class-leading SUV beating her rivals by a mile.
Just had my window replaced by Safelite. They just need to calibrate the camera for you. They messed up mine as well. I had the fault codes also. They re-calibrated the camera and it worked. To make sure they put the correct windshield on the Stelvio look for the words in the bottom right if the glass. It should say solar time and acoustic, or should have and icon with an ear and a check bouncing off the ear.
I have a 2018 Stelvio TI Sport mfg 11/2017 where I changed the cabin filter and had an extra step to remove a blocking 1 inch conduit black plastic tube directly in front to the cabin filter gate. It was so annoying but I got it done. I believe the Alfa Romeo cabin filter design was an after thought as performance is the main consideration on these vehicles (Giulia, Stelvio). I changed my cabin and engine filter in my Honda Pilot in less than 7 minutes total....
I have not purchased a Stelvio yet, but a tow hitch is something I'd like. I looked into it and Stealth Hitch makes a hitch for this vehicle which is good to know. They don't make one for my current LR Discovery Sport though! Lol!
Great review. I have a 2018 To sport. Having issues with front parking sensors. The sensors are too sensitive and go off when anything is in front of me. The driver's door rattles over bad road. I also had the oil overfill issue. Otherwise it's been reliable.
Looking forward to your 3-year ownership update! I'm looking to maybe buy this car in a couple of weeks and cannot find reliable information regarding maintenance cost, reliability, fun factor, snow drivability etc! @Auto Fanatic could you share this information a little bit earlier? Even by comment! This would be super helpful!
Man I dont understand how all these people in the comments have this car...are you all rich? The car is like 60.000€. Its my dream car and I will never be able to drive it in my life even though I am a working man, but its not enough for a car like this. Fuck my life bro :(
Great video , I do appreciate the info you provided. I do have a question for you. I have a TI Sport on hold at my local dealer. The price after negotiating is at 598.00 tax in 1000.00 total out of pocket. 36months. 10k a year. I am 52 who always came from bmw m cars. Do you think at this lease for. 55k vehicle is worth it ? And on the 2021 is their improvement on the crank case with oil ? Appreciate your Input.
I need a good advice on which year to focus on. First years of a new car model has some teething issues. From what year has Alfa solved most of the issues?
Have owned a 2018 stelvio for far too long. Has been nothing but problems. Thought it’d be a step up from my Evoque. Thinking about going over to Lexus
all car manufactures can have problems Lexus is not the same as they were in the 1990s in terms of quality because the automotive market is so competitive now in order to be relevant they need to keep costs down and margins up which is a reality of anything mass produced today.
Good day, thanks for the info. We just purchased a certified 2020 Ti Sport. Is there anything we should inform the dealer about before we take ownership?
I had the same issue with the oil level once. I had a guy at the Alfa dealer who was actually smart and he explained it's not the oil level on the gauge its only 1 quart of oil. So basically its a fail safe, my low oil light came on and like normal people would I added oil to be safe but I added too much oil. Once he explained that I had no issues. If I need to add oil I add like 1/2 quart of oil.
@@autofanaticcars I think it's more like 4.5 quarts to 5.5 quarts that it's reading. So when it says you are low it really saying you have 4.5 quarts. Explains why when you checked you Qv dip stick it showed full but the screen showed 3 quarters, so you only are missing a quarter of a quart.
Also why when it was over filled and you took out a quart it then said half, You where at 5 quarts. I definitely prefer a dip stick but it may actually help if everyone panics because they think the oil is low when it's not that bad.
yeah when I overfilled the Stelvio it gave a bad fault code on the dash so I had to carefully drain 1 qrt out and it was fine. doing a new oil change next week
Great video! I have the Russo Sport Ti Stelvio with the OEM hitch. I've had it for 2 years and 10 months now. I prefer the OEM because everything is hidden except for the hitch receiver. It was installed by the dealer at no extra cost. I agree with you about the oil burn. I had to add half a quart of oil 6 months into my oil change. Apart from flickering headlights, occasional burning smell and other electronic gremlin issues, I think the Stelvio is in a class of its own - a legit sportscar (took it to the track once) and SUV (pulls my 18 ft center console effortlessly) in one package!
@@autofanaticcars I also wanted to let you know that my gas gauge seems to be working normally. I tend to use it up until it changes to yellow, sometimes on the red but I always top off to find out how much is left. From red, it appears that i have somewhere in between half gallon to 1.5 gallons left based on 18.5 (topped off) gallons full tank
Saw a good seal on a stelvio 2018 AWD ti sport. Do you think it’s okay to finance or is it a lease only type of car. Seems to be notorious with some type of issues
I know this is an old video. I'm actually looking into buying one, but a little concerned about cargo spacing. Have you had any issues with fitting luggage?
I have never had an issue with cargo and I move way more stuff than the average owner from hundreds of boxes, wheels. tires, exhaust systems, transmissions you name it i have used the Stelvio to haul it. it has way more room than most Japanese SUV and even the smaller Mercedes and BMW models like the X3 and X4 the Stelvio has way more room, forget the Jaguar F Pace that is tiny in comparison. hope this helps
How quiet is the cabin compared to the other luxury cuv's? After a long road trip quietness and also the adaptive cruise are the main things I'm looking for in my next car
Our car is 19 and not very quiet but the new 2022 are superior in cabin refinement and comfort since they have double pane glass now and much more sound insulation and a softer tuned suspension so if comfort if what you want plus the sporty feel look into a 2022 model
yes we do still have it, need to do rear brakes ASAP that will be an upcoming video because the rear brakes wear out faster than the fronts by the vehicles design. I will show a simple brake swap and OEM pad alternative for you guys. I also have new Michelin tires which will be on the car soon enough. the Holiday and other commitments caused some delays doing all of this.
I have wondered how the Stelvio compares to the $40k Subaru Outback (2.4l turbo). And if it was worth the extra $10k? What a beautiful interior you picked out. 🤩
I think so. I believe the Stelvio is at another category as far as the driving experience is concerned. I think you cannot compare it a Subaro Outback.
I have had subaru's since I was 16, and just got a 2019 stelvio ti sport. Get inside one and Surround yourself with italian leather and carbon fiber and ask your question again

Hello Jeffrey! What about now?
We have our Stelvio TI Sport for 2 years with 47,000 miles on it no issues so far car looks great , drive great. We love it .
I have a 2018 model love the car , the fcw light does come on sometimes not sure why
I’m getting 2022 veloce
After 2 years and 4 months I'm still in love with my Stelvio TI Sport. So much so that I have a Stelvio QV coming soon. Best driving car I've ever owned.
awesome thanks for sharing I am in the process of getting a new Giulia QV myself in red.
@@autofanaticcars Can’t wait to see it! I stuck with black. I just love the blacked out look and I couldn’t wait for the gold color. Glad I didn’t given all that was taken away for 2022.
Post a video of it when you get it
Great to hear!! does it burn oil? it is a reliable car? Thanks!
What’s the update how many miles how it runnin
Sounds like majority of your problems came from human errors and not the car fault
Thanks for putting these videos out!
thanks for sharing Matt
do they burn oil?
Quick question… Is leasing a much better deal than financing?! What are the benefits of doing so versus the conventional way?
@@ntwalipat2 i would like to know aswel
Just bought an '18 Ti and so looking forward to driving it. Will add more as I get used to the vehicle. Happy Driving!!
Enjoy!
Your 1yr review was really helpful in my decision to get a 2020 TI Sport. I got a Red on Red with yellow brake combo in November 2020. Love the car and haven’t had an issues. I would def recommend Alfa to anyone considering getting one.
awesome thanks for sharing the feedback and enjoy your Ti Sport
Can a local mechanic work on it or do an oil change the nearest alpha dealers few ways from me
We just added a 2021 Stelvio to our car family on Memorial Day. It's now my wife's daily driver and wow do we LOVE this car! Not only does this car turn heads BUT it is also insanely fast for an SUV.
Watching her smile behind the wheel makes me happy too that we got what HAS to be the best kept secret in car badge decision purchases. (She initially wanted a Porsche but instantly wanted the Stelvio after she saw the red interior scheme and black wheel etc package)
I'd definitely recommend this SUV guys if your wife is wanting an SUV. There's nothing like it!!
Enjoy it
A year later do you still love it? What’s the maintenance like?
How did you come to find that it needed a new throttle box and radiator? Problems? Dash lights? Dealer mechanic?
did it burn oil?
Nice tip on the oil level sensor. Guess I'll have to buy a QV for the dipstick.
I’m one year in ti sport 27k miles drive it back in forth from nyc to Ohio, it’s great on the road... 😎😎😎 the handling 👌🏽
I LOVE that Alfa grill... and the rest of it looks pretty good, too.
To be honest even my Old Mercury has trouble when summer comes along. I think it has to do with extra engine load for the AC. I live in FL and AC puts one hell of a load on a engine.
do they burn oil?
Bit over 2 years in, 80'000 km, mainly mountain roads, 7.2 l diesel (210 ps) consumption. A frigging pleasure. I already know that I'm addicted to the 12:1 steering ratio (go-karty-like), the low weight and the 50:50 weight distribution. It's just pleasure. And sorry ... but this car has the best 'arse' of all cars right now - to me.
does it burn oil? Thanks
Getting the Sprint version for the reason of having smaller 18-inch wheels, which will give the ride quality the perfect balance between sportiness and comfort.
Been seeing alot of cheap prices for the sprint modes haha thinking of getting one myself.
Great car and glad I bought it.
do then burn oil? reliable for the most part?
I have this same car same colour with the limited addition black diamond 20 inch wheels, remapped it and fitted a bmc filter, the performance is so good all youl wana drive is an alfa
awesome
From Australia and have the diesel variant with the Veloce pack. Had it for all but 2 years. never had any issues at all, doesn't use oil and no electric problems. Had the windscreen replaced about 3 months ago and no issues there. I'm a photographer in a rural area and drive on all types of road conditions and it is amazing, even dirt roads are smoothed out and the ride is way way better than my previous drive ( BMW X5 ). couldn't be happier and will upgrade to the 2021 version soon
Proud owner of the stelvio speciale stunning car drives great handles like no other car ive owned
16,000 smiles so far 3 year old, only problem was the battery changed at service to new name and no issues leaving the car standing a month at a time
pure bliss
Beautiful car. Love the blue red color combo
We agree!
Might be getting my first AR Stelvio soon. Thank you for your detailed and honest review.
I have a Stevlio .. I've had BMWs, Audi, Lexus, etc..etc.. This car is the best kept secret.. .lets' keep it that way so they stay discounted :)
if you want to help save the brand, don’t
I have had my Stelvio QV for two years coming up at the end of July, only thing I have had to get done on it really was recently radiator had to be replaced, started getting coolant smell and dealer replaced it. These are so much fun to drive, QV model definitely takes corners like it was riding on rails. I ended up driving mine on a set of Ti Sport model wheels with Michelin PS A/S 3+ as my winter tires, great combination and they fit perfectly over the bigger brake calipers on the QV.
good to know that the TI wheels fit on the QV i assumed they would based on all the times ive cleaned these wheels there is plenty of room
does it burn oil?
Touched the like button even before I started watching
Ok...
Your video alone convinced Me to buy one. Thank you For this video
Hope you enjoy it! I will be doing a 30k mile Stelvio ownership video next week I think so stay tuned to this channel for more updates.
Thanks for sharing!
Go Pedal fixed the pedal lag for me 100% in my Stelvio. You can get a Bluetooth model or manual model. I also installed a cold air intake and it the combo made this a much quicker and better sounding vehicle for around $500 to $600 bucks!
thanks for sharing your feedback on these mods something i will consider after winter
Great review. Love your passion on these beautiful Alfas
(We found that out after we made it home).
thanks for also sharing your experience with this.
Camera was calibrated 4 times with no luck we sold it for a new 2023 Stelvio Veloce
Great vid, like always
does it burn oil? how has it been? any issues? Thanks!!
Got brand new Stelvio 2018 with veloce pack in Melbourne, Australia. 50k km. Zero issues so far. At this price range this is the best driving SUV.
You can adjust the suspension, and AWD mode, and loosen it up when in sport mode. Through dash settings.
Not on this 2019 model
Still have my Stelvio Lusso with 36,000 miles and still running great.
Il be posting a 4 year ownership of our Stelvio Ti Sport soon
I heard that the oil changes are expensive! Is this true? Because I'm really interested in this vehicle.
Thanks for all the comments, this is helpful . I am trading in my Q60 and seriously considering this vehicle. I just was not sure if this car is reliable because the price is so affordable and don’t know much about Alfa Romeo. Going to do a test drive today and make my final decision.
Did you end up getting it?
Has anyone had the chance to compare this beautiful machine to the Porsche Macan, price wise you are certainly getting bang for your buck with the AR.
the Macan is awesome but much more expensive and if you lease it for 3 years a nicely equipped Macan will cost double the monthly payment. then you need to ask yourself is the Macan double the car? absolutely not.
Looks and drives amazing.
same here it is a pretty looking car i love seeing ours drive down the road and pull into the driveway such beautiful lines
how has it been? is it reliable? does it burn oil? thank you!!
I love the looks, at a glance you would think it was a stock Maserati from the side without the Trident.
similar side profiles but the Levante is not even close to the driving pleasure of the Stelvio they are night and day.
Love that color combo
Over 3 years on my 2018 Giulia with 41k miles car has been flawless other than few software updates and new battery.
Just got a 2021 Stelvio as well love the cars
thanks for sharing
very cool!! does it burn oil? how has it held up? Thank you!
I too noticed that the oil indicator seems to suck and that the gas gauge seems to empty quickly once it reaches 1/4 tank.
thanks for sharing feedback
They now fixed that software my 2021 doesn't do that anymore but my 2018 does once it's reaches 1/4 tank it goes quick
does your burn oil? how has it held up?
20k miles on my Giulia! Very minor things happen. Totally love the car!
same for us
Perfect. See you soon. My stelvio is otw!!!!!!!

Here is my link about the problem
So glad your in ny I’ve been looking at this suv for some time and I’m in the city potholes and idiots on the road has always been my concern.
the Stelvio handles NYC well but it does ride a bit stiff and sporty that may not appeal to everyone. the new 2022 Veloce versions ride much smoother than the Ti Sport we have. go take them for a test drive to see what you like best.
@@autofanaticcars will do thanks for the advice
It should say solar time and acoustic, or should have and icon with an ear and a check bouncing off the ear.
yeah we are having the dealer work on this very soon
@@autofanaticcars I know that sentiment and feeling all too well with the Alpha...actually, any nice car you love.
I changed my cabin and engine filter in my Honda Pilot in less than 7 minutes total....
yes I did the same on ours it was a PITA and that tiny set screw on the bracket the Giulia does not have
I have not purchased a Stelvio yet, but a tow hitch is something I'd like.

Glad it was helpful!
See you in Yonkers first part of the vid. Right near the racetrack💯
Man I dont understand how all these people in the comments have this car...are you all rich?
The car is like 60.000€.
Its my dream car and I will never be able to drive it in my life even though I am a working man, but its not enough for a car like this. Fuck my life bro :(
I was thinking about one of these, wow too many quirks, what a shame, good looking car.
I was thinking of getting an Stelvo to sport but idk yet 🤔 still looking into when they started fixing things
Thanks for the insight especially on the oil
Any update on the adaptations on the ECU the downshift ? What was it ?
Good day, thanks for the info. We just purchased a certified 2020 Ti Sport. Is there anything we should inform the dealer about before we take ownership?
just keep an eye on the oil level and fuel gauge.
Yes Alfa , great taste as usual
I had the same issue with the oil level once. I had a guy at the Alfa dealer who was actually smart and he explained it's not the oil level on the gauge its only 1 quart of oil. So basically its a fail safe, my low oil light came on and like normal people would I added oil to be safe but I added too much oil. Once he explained that I had no issues. If I need to add oil I add like 1/2 quart of oil.
thanks for sharing this so you mean when you click the screen and check oil level that indicator that shows low only indicates a reserve ?
Any update on getting the security, fuel, and oil sensors fixed?
Ho John thanks for checking this video and sharing your feedback with all of us. Enjoy
What about this sporty seat, some one said that they are so rigid not confortable at all in the long driving
they are comfortable but they also are stiff so if you want a soft seat these are not them
Saw a good seal on a stelvio 2018 AWD ti sport. Do you think it’s okay to finance or is it a lease only type of car. Seems to be notorious with some type of issues
right now lease it and if you love it buy it out at the end
I know this is an old video. I'm actually looking into buying one, but a little concerned about cargo spacing. Have you had any issues with fitting luggage?
I have never had an issue with cargo and I move way more stuff than the average owner from hundreds of boxes, wheels. tires, exhaust systems, transmissions you name it i have used the Stelvio to haul it. it has way more room than most Japanese SUV and even the smaller Mercedes and BMW models like the X3 and X4 the Stelvio has way more room, forget the Jaguar F Pace that is tiny in comparison. hope this helps
Wonderful. New cars that are oil burners and no dipstick.
welcome to the new world of modern cars i hate this
Any suggestion for the ti? 235/55 r19.
Just got a Stelvio. Loving it so far. Can't get the AR app to work. Any thoughts?
I am in the market for a Alfa Romeo Stelvio Ti Sport, anything I should know before doing so?
The fuel sensor issue is a recall. They can take care of it at the dealer.
How quiet is the cabin compared to the other luxury cuv's? After a long road trip quietness and also the adaptive cruise are the main things I'm looking for in my next car
Our car is 19 and not very quiet but the new 2022 are superior in cabin refinement and comfort since they have double pane glass now and much more sound insulation and a softer tuned suspension so if comfort if what you want plus the sporty feel look into a 2022 model
i think leasing is a more better option for these. enjoy the fun part and skip the worst.
I haven't seen anything new from your channel on the Stelvio, do you still have it? If so can you share how she is holding up?
yes we do still have it, need to do rear brakes ASAP that will be an upcoming video because the rear brakes wear out faster than the fronts by the vehicles design.
Hi there 2020 hi by Alfa Romeo Stelvio ti sport brand new I keep it for six months I make it 4500 miles and I missing onequarter oil I’m not happy for this car No dipstick and Selling Never I buy alpha Romeo again have a nice day my friend good luck to you
My Giulia is at 62k miles. Original motor. I have an oil burning issue, needs a quart every 3k miles.
if you have a 2.0 turbo this is a very common issue with those motors they burn oil and blow up frequently
Great vid Phil... what’s your opinion of the Maserati Levante? The r owned by the same company.
the Levante does not come close to driving as much fun as the Stelvio they are very different cars/
@@autofanaticcars Levante SQ4 is Monster,
I agree that the throttle lag is extremely annoying. Otherwise its a good car. They need a mid-tier engine BADLY.
I like it ,but with those issue ,it get me nervious ... amd I'm very picky.. nice ride guy... what year is ???
My 2019 had a cracked windshield . Took it to safelite . I now have the same issue with the front crash sensor turning itself off !
seems like Safelite is in bed with the insurance companies to get these jobs yet nobody knows how to calibrate the FCW
Am debating between buying infinity q50 sport and The stelvio.. which one would you recommend?
